There were definitely some challenges along the way, especially with permits in our city. Apparently it is much tougher than others when it comes to permits, and it ended up requiring a lot more paperwork and extra effort than he expected. Even with all that, Cyrus stuck to his original quote and never tried to charge us more, which we really appreciated. Jaime and Jesus handled the installation of the air handler, ductwork, and heat pump. They worked hard, were very respectful of our home, kept things clean, and honestly were much quieter doing the work than I expected considering all the cutting and installation involved. They also worked hard to finish ahead of the timeline they originally gave us. Inspection passed with no issues, and now we've been using the AC for months with zero problems. To come out for an estimate, it was $150, which would apply to the cost. I didn't notice on the estimate I received, the BTU was lower than what was being replaced by 10k BTU (original heater was 35k BTU). It was my oversight by not confirming with Max that it would be the same BTU. Lessons learned. He did explain that 35k is overkill for the area being heated....roughly 500 sqf and the lower heater BTU of 25k would last longer. The installers were neat and tidy and made sure they cleaned up the area after installation. The cost is definitely on the high side $2,200 (cost of the wall heater was $724 plus a new thermostat). It took about 2 1/2 hours to install. So labor was definitely on the high side. Hindsight, I would've gotten a couple of more estimates.

We had an issue with our 15 years old A/C and I was concerned that the recommendation would be based on the age of the equipment and not on the actual fitness of the A/C. I did a bit of research, and my plumber recommended Urso Air. I called them and it was easy to schedule an appointment. On the planned day, Brandon was on time and started investigating the issue. It was very clear that Brandon knew what he was doing and when I told him the age of the equipment, he told me that it was worth figuring out what was the issue before to decide if a replacement of the whole system was warranted. It turned out that the level of refrigerant was low and Brandon proposed to refill the system, add sealant and then check in a few weeks if the system was holding the refrigerant. Brandon explained that, as there still refrigerant in the system and the system was old, there was a fair chance that this will solve the issue and that it was cheaper than doing a full-blown system leak investigation. Brandon shared the difference of price, and I agreed with the refill and sealant option that was about half the costs of the full leak check. After refilling the refrigerant, the A/C was again cooling strong and has been for the past few weeks and yesterday Brandon stopped by and checked that there was no loss of refrigerant since he did the refill. He also was able to put sealant in the system. So, hopefully we will be able to get a few years more from the current equipment. In summary, I highly recommend Urso Air. Brandon and everybody I interacted with were very professional, easy to work with and focused on the best option for us. And the prices were fair and transparent.
