Terrible customer service. Tried self checkout and for some reason you can't buy giftcards at self checkout so the attendant told me to go to a regular line. I stood in line for about 10 minutes while the cashier takes her time ringing up the customer in front of me. When my turn comes up the cashier tells me she's closing her register because they need her somewhere else. Ugh I just walked out of there and got the giftcard somewhere else read more

I went to Kohl's on-line and purchased a pair of trail shoes. The site specifically indicates "free shipping." I purchased the shoes and was then told I had to pick the shoes up at a location 2 hours away from my house. I called to cancel this order and was told I could not cancel it yet my debit card was billed for the amount of the shoes. This is clearly FALSE ADVERTISING!! This is the second time I do the drive up option with the pick up pass and my wait time is over 20 minutes! That's ridiculous! All of the pick up parking spaces were empty. How can that happen? The wait time for them to come out with you purchase is unbelievable I will not be doing this again. I had a horrible experience. I had to get out of the car and wait in line the store for them to hand me my drive up delivery order. That wait time took over 10 minutes due to the line. I still remember when this used to be Kmart....*sigh* After they changed it to Kohl's, this place totes became a dead zone. Probably doesn't help that it's surrounded by cemeteries. In all the years that it's been open, I've probably only shopped here about 5 times. Usually I walk in, take a quick look, and walk back out. 3.5 stars for the neverending sales prices and because I wish more people would give this Kohl's location a chance. The deals here are pretty good. I'm serious. And I think the buyer for this location is much better than the buyer for schMacy's in Serramonte. In the young women's/teenager's clothing department at Macy's, does anyone else notice how ghetto and ugly the clothing selection can be sometimes? I can't be alone in this! I remember when this place used to be the local Kmart. Anyway I hardly come here because it's out of the way and there isn't really any other place near it (it's a standalone store as opposed to being in a mall) where I can multitask my errands. On occasion, I do come in when I receive a $10 coupon for $10 merchandise. If you can find something for $9.99, you are technically getting that item for pennies. Store is neat and well stocked. The prices are a bit high for what is considered a lower tier store (lower than Macy's and Nordie's). They carry clothes by J-Ho and Skeletor. Vera Wang also has a line there. Before today I always thought all Kohl's stores had great customer service and friendly helpful sales associates. But this location proved me wrong. I typically frequent their Roseville location which has a HUGE selection, great prices, and very cheerful associates who always greet you and thank you for shopping with them. This location however seems to have almost half the normal selection I would find in Roseville. And cashiers who were never clued in on the secret that smiling and thanking customers when they leave not only lends to great customer service but also costs them nothing to do (in fact they are getting paid to do just that....OMG! Amazing isn't it!)! Today I spent over $500 here and was rung up by a cashier named Kyle(?) who: a) didn't greet me b) made no attempt at eye contact c) seemed rather disgruntled/bored to be working there d) asked if I wanted the hangers...and when I informed him I didn't and that it would just be more junk if I took those home, stuffed all my clothes (w/ hangers still on) into the bag anyways because he was too lazy to take them off and fold the clothes up. e) and never thanked us for shopping w/ Kohl's I used a 30% off coupon that came in the mail w/ my purchase and Kohl's was offering a bonus discount in which for transactions over $100, we could scratch off a scratcher to get an additional: 15%,20%, or 30% off. When I inquired with the cashier near the end of the transaction about the additional discount, he proceeded to tell me I couldn't combine discounts and that it was either or. This is complete bs because the Kohl's down in Roseville always offered us both discounts without us ever asking for them. When I proceeded to inform the cashier of such, he stated that if we didn't like it, we could always bring our purchase to Roseville to return it and repurchase it all there to get the additional discount. First off buddy, I'm sure that other store would not appreciate the fact that you would suggest customers do such a thing. And second, theres no way I'm driving freaking 3hrs one way (6hrs total to and back!) just to get the additional discount! At this time, I asked to speak with the manager and I was informed that she was outside in the parking lot and to go find her there. WTF?!??!!? They don't even have a freaking manager IN the building to help me????? What the hell kind of business are they running here? This is the first and last time I ever shop here. I'm sorry, I usually don't review much but I had to comment on how rude a lot of the employees are here. Also, I want to mention how I was completely dismissed for asking an employee to price match an item that was cheaper on the kohl's website and when the cashier had no clue what to do, she called over a manager and she didn't even acknowledge my question she just looked at me and said "nope we don't do that." And walked away. I was sure they do price match and upon reading about it on KOHLS own website.. it states they DO price match if it is brought to an employees attention. I left the store feeling like the manager was either incompetent or she just was TOO LAZY to do her job. I'm glad I left my purchase behind. I rather take my business else where. Kohl's, Kohl's, Kohl's!!! I love this place when I can actually find what I need. I usually give Kohl's 4 stars, but so far I haven't been able to find anything in my size. It seems like this location is very very low on women's merchandise. I love Vera wang and some of the other brands here, but every time I come here they usually have really large sizes left or 1 garment left on the rack, which means they've sold out. I will say that I've been able to find some awesome clothes for my husband though. Last week I was able to find 5 summer short sleeve shirts and a few shorts that fit him nicely. I think it came to about $116 for 5 men's shirts and 2 pair of shorts and that was without the additional 15% off coupon. I think that's a pretty good deal if you ask me. Millbrae's Kohls closed down so colma Kohl's is probably the closest location now. Kohls has a parking lot right outside so finding parking isn't going to be a problem. And I was surprised to see that it does get pretty busy around this Kohls. Unlike the Kohls that used to be in Millbrae, this Kohls is only one level so it makes it easier for you to find things without having to go upstairs and then back downstairs. If you can't find something specific, just ask a worker or walk around in a circle. I guarantee you'll find what you're looking for. I personally am a huge fan of their kitchen supplies. And they usually have a lot of things on sale which is nice. They have a lot of workers working here. When I came here over the weekend, they had about 7-8 people working cash registers which was awesome as the line tends to get long here. I haven't had any bad experiences shopping here so yay to that. One thing I really like about Kohls is the fact that they give a lot free $10 to use towards buying stuff. And there's sometimes coupons that come in the mail. Yessss. Overall, I really only come here when my mom wants to shop here, but it's never a bad trip. read more

Prices are always good and I really like the employees here, always pretty nice and knowledgable of answering my questions. You can also sign up for a Rewards card if you don't want to open up their Kohl's charge! But I feel like there's a lot of perks of opening a charge card up if you're a frequent shopper here. I really hate to give a one star review, because I do like shopping at Kohls......but after today...not so sure..... I needed some sports bra's and decided to go to Kohls,(Colma) because I figured they would have the best selection and pricing.... Brought my mother with me (who is handicapped) who also likes Kohls because of the Petite Dept and Housewares... Well, I always go to get one thing and end up with several. My mom also went to town finding a lot of items that she didn't plan on.... Unfortunately I took a little longer in the dressing room (oops) with my items and when I came out my mother was leaning up against a table display. (display not flimsy) She told me the chairs were taken (ONLY 2 FOR THE ENTIRE STORE) My mother is 85 and wears a back brace so standing for a long period of time is very tough..... It was over 80 degrees today so sitting in the car waiting not an option.... So here comes the fun..... The floor manager (I guess that was what she is) tells my mother that there are chairs to sit on and please go up to the front and sit on one (Rude)......My mother tells her that there are only 2 and they are both taken.....Well Ms Personality runs up to the front and comes back and tells her "No they are not" (rude again) So by this time my mother is standing and walking with me to the front....and guess what? They are both taken....My mom asked why only 2 chairs, and why are they against the register facing backward (this way you can't see them until you are upon them) for the entire store.....I don't think she answered.....but at this point it didn't matter.... Here's a thought.....Why in the world don't you have more chairs.....I'm not expecting a band stand, but why not a few more in plain view??? Don't you get that if someone is shopping with a spouse, mother, etc etc and if they had somewhere to sit and wait, the other person would buy more???? I would..... And here's another thought.....Ms Personality should get out her vacuum and clean the bottom of those shopping carts....they are disgusting. How about cleaning up some of the clothes that are on the floor, how about ordering some more cosmetics for your cosmetic dept ....I've been looking at that same used crap for 6 months. How about cleaning up your dressing rooms? They are also pretty disgusting...... But No....you are running around looking for old people to harass. I don't get it . This could have, should have, been handled in a more professional manner. They have this "kohl's cash" reward for spending money there, but when I found I didn't have but a couple days to use it, and they didn't have my size in the store... and my size is pretty common... I tried their app which is poorly designed, by the time I had the items in my cart that I wanted, I scanned the code and guess what? Not valid. Also, more than once, I've been double charged on my credit card for items. I'm starting to think it's common practice with kohl's. So, don't have my size in the store, the app is a pain to use... and the kohl's cash expires at midnight and turns into a pumpkin online, a few days - not even a week, before you can use it. Guess what. I'm going return everything I bought, go get it at Macy's and avoid this racket. read more

I placed an order online. When entering the credit card info, the system asks if the "Shipping Address is the same as the Billing address" I marked it for YES. They shipped my items to the incorrect address. I was able to intercept one package and have it sent back to Kohls for a refund but was hoping I could just pick it up at the store. Nope! they couldnt do that. They are refunding the money so I can purchase again and have it "Shipped" to the correct address. The items are more in cost now than when I ordered the first time. BS. Then the second package was actually delivered to the incorrect address. I don't live there and do not know who does. Kohls suggested I drive 100 miles to knock on the door and 'maybe' they will give it to me. "Tough luck" kohls implies. I called customer service many times only to be told there is nothing they can do and I have to just eat the fact that they messed up and I cant have my product or money back. This is BS and I have shopped here many times online and in store and they wont even try to help me. When I spoke to the MGR ISMAEL #13750, he said wouldnt even try to help me. I guess they think Im trying to get over when its really them that took my money and wont honor what I actually asked them to do. "Ship it to the Billing address". I will never shop here again and I will not stop until something is done about this. Horrible experience with management and customer service at this store. I came in to drop off Amazon return at this store. When I return the item they're giving you 25% coupon to shop in the store and assuring you that it works for all the items. At the time of the check out cashier makes up a story to every customer that the item hes trying to purchase it is not covered by that discount. Waited for a manager and wasted my time. Totally WAAAAAY different from what I'm used to in the East Bay. The store was pretty empty, which I am sure is normal on a Thursday evening... When we check out the employee Heu, took his time and folded all of our purchases neatly and put them stacked up in the bag. I was in disbelief because at the Kohl's in San Leandro, the cashiers just wad up and throw your purchases in the bag....they don't care! Still trying to get with the coupon thing at Kohl's. I remember when this used to be Kmart. So the older gen seems to be hooked on Kohl's coupons, so I have only been here a handful of times. I have purchased one thing and it was the order online pickup process. However when I get there it is not tagged to indicated who or what it's being held for. That worries me on something I already prepaid for. So there might be some kinks to be worked out, but it's ok I might give it another chance. One thing I do like is they carry makeup! Lorac, Cargo, The Balm (SF brand- woot woot!) and some other brands, and great quality but you can't use coupons on them. But that is not is not a big deal at all. The only way that I trek into this place is because my GF needs to do YET ANOTHER shopping trip, and damn you Kohls, you keep tempting her with the offers in the mail. I REALLY should go here alone, because as a man, I can go in, find what I want, try it on and be out the door in 10 minutes. So tonight going in there the conversation went something like this: ME- I am going to go look at what I need and you go ahead and do your thing, I know I will regret this, but I will catch up to you wherever you are in the store. HER- Ok....I shouldnt be too long ME- To myself "Ok...that means we will be here LESS than 2 hours trying on clothes FOR A CHANGE" I went off to find a pair of pants and 2 polo shirts.....found what I needed, even taking time to "browse" a bit. I tried on my selections and went to find my other shopper. I found her on the other side of the store with a bewildered look on her face. I decided to lighten the moment by sneaking up under cover of the racks and when she least expected it, stood up and said HI! Wow....who would have thought that a human voice could make my ears bleed, but that is what happened right then and there. After she screamed and almost fell over backwards, she was yelling at me, but because of the ringing in my ears, it wasn't coming through, but I could by the look on her face she wasn't happy. After regaining my sense of hearing I looked into her basket and saw the kitchen sink...whoa boy I thought, we are in for the long haul. I idly browsed with her all the while hoping that she would get a wild hair up her butt and venture into the lingerie department, but alas, it wasn't to be. She went to go try her selections on and I told her I was going to head outside for some "Fresh" air, I came back 15 minutes later and she wasn't even half way through trying on her selections. Finally she made her selections and complained that her knee was KILLING Her (She hurt it 2 weeks ago) but instead of heading to the checkout, headed the OPPOSITE way in search of more items. It was at this point that I was wondering if it was true that if you kill yourself, you go to hell and become a public servant. Deciding I didnt want to find out, I wearily followed. We finally made it to the checkout after another 20 minutes ... AND STILL NO BROWSING OR EVEN GLANCE FROM HER IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LINGERIE DEPARTMENT...and when all was said and done with her discounts, we spent $118.00 with a savings of 108.00 in coupons....WOW. What was my point here anyway? Oh yes, Kohls has great bargains if you know how to catch the coupons and go on the right days. BUT...they really need to consider either A: A man cave for men to hang out in while their woman try everything on in the store or... How this place stays in business is a mystery to me. I don't say that because the place is ghetto or sells poor quality goods. I say that because I went there on a Tuesday night around 10pm (they close at 11pm!) and went shopping with a $20 Kohl's cash card that I got for buying some mixing bowls for 40% off online. I got some stuff for just under $20 to get myself ready for Christmas gifts and even with the stuff I got I received another 15% off of that so I couldn't utilize my full $20 credit. It's like they make it hard to spend my money and keep on throwing discount upon discount at me to entice me to keep spending! Overall, the place was clean, orderly, and well staffed for the 3 customers shopping in this entire store past 10pm. Seriously though, I found it nice and stress free to shop here at the late hour not having to deal with parking, other customers, lines, etc. Not sure how crazy busy it is during the day, but I'm glad they're around to fulfill my random shopping needs. I am a lover of Kohl's. And being up in the Bay Area visiting family with a 30% off coupon that was about to expire, you betcha I found a Kohl's in the Bay Area to make good use of that 30%. This Kohl's is HUGE compared to other stores I've been to in So Cal. I love that they have a huge kid's department and I was able to pick up lots of clothing on clearance for my 2 year old to grow into (with the add'l 30% off, of course)! I always forget that SF is plastic bag free, so bring your own, otherwise you'll get charged 10 cents for a paper bag. read more

This review is solely based on the customer service I experienced today (04/29). I went to this Kohl's to look for a maxi dress I saw at the Hayward location. They didn't have my size at the Hayward store, so I came here hoping I'd find it in my size. I did end up finding my size, but it was on the mannequin form, hanging on the clothes rack. I asked a sales associate that was nearby, folding clothes, if it would be okay to try that one on. She looks at me, takes the dress off of the mannequin, hands it to me and says, "Here, go ahead" in a sort of abrasive manner and goes back to folding clothes. No smile, nothing. WTF?? Well, hello to you too, Miss Mary Sunshine (not her real name). Browsed around some more and saw another dress I wanted to try on, but I didn't see it anywhere else, but on a mannequin that was on a shelf too high for me to reach. Asked a different sales associate if they had that dress on the floor, but she didn't see anything, so she told me she would go in the back and check for me. I thought that was nice of her.. until I ended up waiting around for about 10 minutes. Walked around looking for her, but I never saw her again. WTF?? What happened to the friendly and helpful staff I read about in a few other reviews? I'll probably end up going here again because it's close to home and they had a pretty nice selection of things, but I hope the staff steps their game up when it comes to good customer service. read more

This place is ok... The clothes, I was lucky to find a dress I like, but that was it. Unfortunately, most of the time the styles and prints just aren't really me. And I it seems like a lot of the clothes are the same cut, but just different print. So, if I don't like one top, then I basically can just walk past a fair number of other options, because they're the same. I don't like their make-up. And the purses, while I LOVE purses - I don't want to buy. Not since I read about the high lead content of certain brands - and it just so happens that Kohl's carries those brands. I will still check things out here once in a while, just to see what they might have, but usually it's more like window shopping. read more
