I use Amazon a lot, which means I also do my fair share of returns. Because of that, I'm at the Amazon Return Desk at the Downers Grove Kohl's pretty often. Everyone there is always professional and efficient. Most are very matter-of-fact, which honestly is totally fine because I like to get in and out quickly too. But there's one employee who really stands out. His name is Harold. He is genuinely kind, friendly, and consistent every single time I see him. He's not over-the-top or trying too hard, just naturally polite, cool, and professional while still being all business and getting things done efficiently. It's a rare balance, and it makes a difference. People are quick to complain, but not enough take the time to recognize a truly good employee. Called customer service to see if my Kohl's card was still open. Got transferred 5 times in a span of 25 mins to speak to all foreign call centers just to tell me that they couldn't find the card on file, and couldn't even tell if the old one was closed. Had to repeat myself multiple times on the call because they couldn't understand English. read more

I tend to go to this Kohl's if I'm planning on hitting Yorktown, too. They have a decent selection. I feel like sometimes they have long lines. Don't forget your coupons, but watch exclusions. read more

So, um.. I think the weirdest experience I just had at a Kohl's just happened. My cashier had a giant bag of Ruffles potato chips and was just chowing down behind the register. Unprofessional. Then she licked her fingers as she was ringing up my merchandise. Gross. On the plus side, doing a return without a receipt and an Amazon online return was pretty easy and painless. I'm not a fan that each service area is on different levels, which poses difficulty for someone like myself who has a young child (not to mention the pregnancy!). I like this location. It's very rare I leave without finding something just right. Well stocked and clean. Today I was in and out pretty fast as I was picking up a online order. Love that there's a line for pickups that trumps the return line. Parking is great because it's in a strip mall vs a mall. Park up or down as there is always parking available. Down stairs has parking spots just for pick ups. Sometimes there's a line for checkout but most of the time there are enough cashiers to get out pretty fast. read more

I never go to Kohl's looking for something in particular because I will NOT find it. It is better to go either looking for a "deep discount" (keeping in mind that the 'regular price' is overly inflated) or just something I like that happens to be on sale. Don't every go shopping without a coupon. Get on their email list so you get these "20% off everything" jewels or at least look in the newspaper for one. With that said, it's still a good place to walk in and pick up kids clothes, especially young ones, for a great prices. read more

Great customer service and very attentive to everyone's needs. Came in here today cause my fiancé had a watch on hold for me for valentine's day and wanted to make sure I liked it before he bought. This Kohl's is awesome! I was in search of some pajamas I found at the Plainfield store some time ago, but they no longer had them. I checked online and headed to the Woodridge store, but they did not have them, even though Kohls.com said they did. So in a last attempt I went to Downers Grove, where they had about 20 of these on the rack, and in every single size! Finally! I also checked out the home decor department while I was here, which was noticeably more organized and better stocked. I purchased a photo album at this store as well, but later kicked myself because they were Buy 1, Get 1 half off. I bought a photo album while at the Woodridge store, and didn't need another one, so I just sucked it up. The employees here are friendly too. I got a bit lost looking for the elevator (the escalator was down for repair), and an employee noticed my confused face and then pointed me in the right direction. The cashier was also helpful and reminded me of the BOGO sale. There are two or three Kohl's stores closer to home, but if I'm ever in a pickle again trying to find something at other stores, I'll definitely check this one out. read more

This is a great Kohl's location! Plenty of parking. Easy access to/from the highway. Staff is super pleasant and helpful. Most recently, I was in the area running some random errands and had an online purchase I needed to return. I had my receipt and although the line was extremely long, the staff had a system and got it moving quickly. When it was my turn, we started the process and the woman I was working with made the transaction quick and painless. I was browsing my way through the store before I knew it. Kohl's coupons are easy to find and a necessity to use. Build up Kohl's Cash and their Yes2You Rewards to save big money. Remember: The first rule of Kohl's is don't talk about.... I mean, never pay full price at Kohl's. This is not the biggest, baddest Kohl's. But it is very close to home, which makes it a notch better in my book. The thing about Kohl's is that the prices seem to be artificially inflated so that you can feel really awesome when you get something on sale. And everything is on sale, constantly. If you shop smart, you can get some great deals -- but please realize that those jeans are not actually $50 jeans, and that sweater is not worth the $70 the "full" pricetag says. Adjust downward about 20-30% and then see if you're getting a good deal. Still, I do like their clothes, and this Kohl's, like others in the area, has been remodeled a bit with nicer dressing rooms and a sleeker look. The clearance racks can be an excellent place to find off-season bargains, marked down up to 80%. In short: If it's not "on sale" and you don't have a coupon, don't buy it. Come back in a week. I like this Kohl's for one reason - the parking lot. It's never crowded, and there are two sides of the store to park at. I used to think of Kohl's as a hit or miss type of place, but in recent times, I've become a fan! Being a card holder, this is my place to go for shoees...or if I need a last minute dress, etc. You can get some pretty amazing deals here. Earning Kohl's cash always has me coming back for more - whether it's clothes, shoes, accessories, home goods, or whatever. My last visit here was a few days after Christmas - I always like browsing the after-Christmas 75% off stuff. I checked in via yelp and the app brought me to a $10 off $30 or more coupon on their site. Scoring something like that I knew I was walking out with at least $30 worth of things! And I sure did... Even with the hectic crowd of people in line to purchase and return stuff, the cashiers there kept their cool and were friendly. This will remain my "go to" place. read more

The deals that I find at Kohls are amazing!!! The store has a wide variety of everything a store department should have. The isles are a wee :) small but I get around. Sometimes they have Kohls cash which gives $10 for every $50 you spend, awesome!!! They have a lot of buy one get one free sales, I've gotten many items for my place this way. You can watch your savings add up as you cash out. The only complaint is the service desk. Me and Kohl's are just not meant to be. Everyone else raves about the place, but I find nuthin'. I'm off the bell curve for Kohl's. They do not carry petite clothes small enough nor do they carry shoes small enough for lil' ol' me. The only deal I've scored at Kohl's in recent years has been for some basic cotton undies. Kohl's just makes me depressed. Of course Kohl's also carries housewares, but in my experience the real bargains are to be found elsewhere. I've even seen better prices on the clearance table at Williams-Sonoma. Really! It pays to look around. They have lots of competition within a few miles. In addition, I can't say that I've experienced good service in this Kohl's store. Employees are either tied to the cash registers or seem otherwise preoccupied. I ordered hundreds of dollars in back to school items on line to find out the Kohls Cash offer expired 2 days earlier. Although the email was sent on the given date, ordered before midnight and had in the top corner earn Kohls Cash with purchase. Plus a message stating Kohls cash will be received in 2-3 business days via email. Customer Service informed me the promotion ended when I called. I was verbally insulted by an employee when walking through the door. We were unaware that certain entrances were exit only because there was no sign. When walking in she was extremely rude I was inside of kohl's for all of 30 seconds before being treated horribly. When I asked for the employees name conveniently no one knew her name. Went in to buy Nike socks that were on sale on their website but they wouldnt give the price I saw. They said it was for oline only so they sent me away with No sale. They jut Amazoned themselves. Kohl's Cash is a scam if you use the "free cash" to buy multiple items and plan to give some of those items as gifts. Kohl's distributes your cash to every item (not sure the algorithm for this) thereby reducing the value of the item you bought for your gift (they'll freely give you gift receipts). If your recipient decides they don't like it rather than getting the true cost of the item for their return, they will only receive the dollar amount allocated to it once Cash note has been used. If they want to exchange the same item for another size or color, then it's okay - but if they don't - they're screwed. So Kohl's isn't rewarding credit card holders for shopping there - they are rewarding credit card holders for shopping only for themselves. They should make this clear in their advertising! read more

I have never had such a bad experience that I felt the need to write a review about it. I was checking out with all of my items and one of the items rang up the wrong price. It is black Friday so they had the item for $9.99. It rang up as $36. The manager basically told me I was wrong. I asked to speak to a manager and with the BIGGEST attitudes she cocked her head and said "um I am the manager sooo..." I said I wanted to speak with somebody above her and she said there was nobody. I highly doubt that because I WAS a frequent shopper. I go there on my 2 hour break in between classes EVERY monday and friday. Well i used to. But this was after being scolded for not using a Kohls charge, as I wasn't qualified for the discount, even though everywhere I look regarding this discount makes no mention of needing to use their card. I shop Kohls online mostly and I came to this one with a stack of bras to return (TMI? My apologies.) Anyway, the associate at the returns counter was wonderfully pleasant, didn't bat an eye at the fact that I had made the online purchase back in August, and processed the return promptly and happily. I'm probably in Kohl's once a week. It doesn't help that it's on the way home from work. They just sent me a free $10 to spend (no minimum required) for my birthday month. Seriously?
