A fairly random Yelp search brought us to Koino Poke. The menu looked tasty and we were in for some different food than what SLC typically has to offer. I'm glad we ventured out, we ordered online for pickup, but the food was delicious. Definitely my new lunch spot. I've had opportunity to come here twice and I am seriously impressed with their fresh ingredients, the generous portions, the reasonable price and most importantly the unique flavors. Their kimchi is strong and sharp, the Tobiko is perfectly firm, and all the other toppings complement so well the high quality seafood. I went here for the high reviews and was excited to try their snow crab bowl. Was extremely disappointed to hear that their labeled "snow crab" is just imitation crab made out of a cheap fish with unhealthy additives. I understand that fake crab is in ever store but don't try and be smart and label it as SNOW crab instead of just crab or krab. read more

I love this place. We come every couple of weeks and it is great every time. So fresh and tons of great flavors. It's definitely new school poke with a more complex menu. Koino may have some of the best poke in SLC but they also have horrible customer service. I have been coming to Koino for the past few months and have been impressed with the quality of the fish and toppings. I am however, disappointed with the lack of customer service I received tonight. I was rushed through ordering, was not offered a bag for my to-go order, and was not offered the soup that comes with my order. The staff was rude, making the experience very unpleasant. I don't care what anyone else has has to say who gave this less than a 5-star rating. This place is GOOD. Bowls are at a really good price point considering how fresh the fish & toppings are. Boba is also so good! Also free miso? Hell yea! My boyfriend & I go there frequently, & they are always super consistent. The young guy who works there is literally always there when we are, & he's the best! The other coworkers are all great as well. We will continue coming here. My family is from Hawaii. We love poke and we eat it often. We just tried this place last week. It is by far the most fresh and tasty poke we have had in the Salt Lake City area. Went to order a bowl and as the server was scooping salmon into my bowl, I noticed a black thing on a piece of fish. I asked the server if I can see it and to my surprise, it was a dead fly. She grabs the tongs, remove the fly and proceed to ask me what toppings do I want in my bowl. Are you kidding me? I don't work in a food chain but the least you could've done is toss the whole tray of salmon. Never going there again!! read more

I passed by here the other day and thought I needed to try it so I came during lunch today. The staff is so nice and very helpful. I've never had a Poke bowl before today so I didn't know what I was doing. They knew things that went well together and my bowl ended up being so good. All the food is very fresh and tastes so good.
