This place was great!! We went here for lunch on a Friday. We got the beef bimimbap and the veggie yakisoba. Both SO flavorful. Our server James recommended adding the fried tofu and we're so glad we listened. It was all wonderful!! Even my husband who doesn't like tofu enjoyed it. James was so friendly and kind as well. I had an amazing experience at Koja Ramen and Bulgogi! The chicken miso ramen was incredible; so flavorful, tasty, and easily one of the best ramens I've had in years. The portion was packaged perfectly for takeout, with a thoughtful cardboard base under the soup container that kept everything stable and made it easy to carry home. The service was also excellent. The gentleman who helped me was very kind, welcoming, and provided great service throughout my visit. Great food, great attention to detail, and a wonderful overall experience. We tried going on a Tuesday, they were closed for repairs, fair enough. We tried going again on Wednesday (the day after) and the host let us know they were out of ramen. The frustrating part is they use a chatbot when you call in, I called before our visit on Wednesday and the chat bot let us know they were open but not that they were out of ramen. KOJA looks nice but we won't be returning to try the food, not worth the drive for us. read more

A few weeks back, we ended up in Newberg after strawberry picking in Sherwood for my birthday-eve. I wanted to try food around this area since we're rarely driving out this far for a casual meal. I finally decided on KOJA and I'm so glad I did. The day that we dropped in, they were training a new server, but even with that happening, we felt very well taken care of from start to finish. They gave a full rundown of their favorite items and recommendations, and cracked a few jokes that made us feel comfortable and relaxed. There was only one other party in at the time, but after coming here, I'm truly surprised it's not packed more often. We had the Tonkotsu Black ramen, one of their Bibimbaps (they added in some seasonal traditional veg for fun), and their Chicken Yakisoba. I was pretty skeptical at first when our server claimed to have the best ramen in Portland. But after trying it, I couldn't deny it. The broth tasted as if it were simmering for hours. It had so much depth and wasn't coming off as too salty. I loved the chew of the noodles (I'm someone who prefers a firm texture, so this was perfect for me). The egg was properly seasoned and had a decent jamminess. And that slice of tonkotsu was really flavorful, without being too fatty. We ended up taking the Yakisoba home because we filled up on the portion sizes of the other entrees. But even reheated and after a few hours, it was still so good. They used a sufficient amount of chicken. And the noodles weren't super oily but had a great deal of flavor. There are very few ramen spots we've taken a liking to since moving to Portland. But this one really hit the spot. If it was closer to us, we'd be here way more often, so this place is definitely a must if you find yourself in the area read more

I've been wanting to stop in here for some ramen, and finally got the chance. Took my fiancé and her youngest daughter tonight and we were not disappointed! One thing to note is that this place is very small with only a handful of tables so if you go at a busy time prepare to wait for a bit. We were greeted right away and got sat. Our server was so friendly and helpful and his service was amazing, it really made the experience great! On got tonkotsu black with a medium spice level. It was delicious, the pork belly was so tender and perfect. Noodles were also perfect. If I had one thing to complain about it would be that the broth was Luke warm. I wish it was a lot hotter, but I'm not going to take points off for that, the flavor makes up for it. We also got the beef yakisoba which was also really good. We tried the potstickers which were good as well. I'll be adding this spot to our rotation, it's so nice to have great ramen so close to home! read more

Absolutely amazing! The ramen was delicious and the service was excellent! The chashu doesn't look like much but explodes with flavor in your mouth. The broth is rich, the noodles have the perfect bite, and they had some new things they were testing out that they let us try that were also so, so good! The pork belly on the Ramen was so tender and flavor was amazing. Gyoza were perfectly crispy. The pork belly was the best I have ever had. The owner was our server he is very friendly and attentive and very humble. The place is super clean and relaxing. We were supposed to go again the next day but ended up having to leave early. This place is so underrated. As someone who lives for traveling and trying all types of cuisine. This is the new Vineyard Grill. Apparently the Bar is still there but not owned by KOJA. The new owners were super friendly with great service. The Bulgogi portions seemed smaller than past owners.
