First. Simple and delicious. Had the fish and chips and the gyro plate. Basic things (olive oil on pita before going onto griddle, having properly dried lettuce with fresh lemon juice, tasty and vibrant kalamata olives, feta that has some moisture and flavor... Fast service. Friendly customer service. The business owner makes you feel very welcome. If you do get the opportunity to dine here you will look around and you'll notice that on the walls he has photos up with customers that he gave special attention to over the years and he is recognized in the community as a business owner operating in that particular space for over 20 years. My dear cousin was not familiar with the popular Greek dish, Gyro so I ordered only one and we split it together. It was exciting to see her appreciate the texture of the handmade sausage meat, the yogurt tzatzki sauce, and fresh ingredients used. I do want to add I really enjoyed the carmelized onions and how they were diced into bite size pieces into the thin strips of onion I'm used to seeing when biting into Gyros where I live. I would have enjoyed the Gyro much more- if I had ordered lettuce as an add-on as I found myself needing to break from the rich savoury flavors in the meat, exciting spices in the sauce... Good took forever to get after ordering. The owner served people after us who are locals...made us wait for fries and chicken tenders that came overly fried and too dry for my daughter to eat. Real talk....this place my daughter was just hungry and wanted kids meal...chicken tenders and fries. Simple right? We waited half hour for overly fried food. It was weird because the staff actually are only attentive to locals and others like us were waiting and waiting. I was watching the batch of fires and chicken going in and I knew it would be on the overly done side because the fries were wayyyy dark and so was the chicken. Prime beach-side location, but otherwise pretty average food. Had a classic gyro, which was serviceable but unremarkable in every category. Ok meat, ok tzatziki, solid pita. Absolutely satisfactory. Great little spot on Mission Beach if you wanna munch on some Greek food while you watch the sunset over the water! Surprisingly cheap for its location too. I was also surprised to find that it seemed to be the least popular restaurant in the area. The Falafel Sandwich is the only vegan option but it is quite good for $8. Most falafel sandwiches I've had come with 4 medium sized falafels but this had 3 large ones. They were very soft and delicious. I was a little disappointed with the toppings, however. Only lettuce and tomato with a drizzle of tahini. The pita was also well done and a bit crispy which I liked. The patio seating provides a pretty good view of the beach so it's a great place for dinner time. read more

Great location adjacent to Mission Beach and Belmont Park, Kojack's offers a good and basic lunch during a day outing in the nearby area. The menu consists of traditional burgers, salmon burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs and pizza. Taste and value is typical of any snackbar you will find at a tourist area. Quick and tasty! We ordered this takeout/delivery and it was at our resort within about 10-15 minutes of ordering. I had the Greek Platter with lamb, tsaziki sauce, pitas, and Greek salad. My wife had the falafel sandwich, and we shared the hummus plate and baklava. Everything we had was great. Absolutely no complaints, we will eat here again next time we're down in SD. We ended up getting friendly with the employees and they told us the restaurant has been around for over 30 years. Their food and service speak for itself. Everything is amazing. We were excited to try this family owned beach restaurant. What a FLOP! Ordered a cheese steak sandwich and fish and chips. The meat in the sandwich was burnt and hard with barely any onions and no peppers. The meat only made it to the middle of the sandwich, no meat anywhere close to covering the whole role. The way that the cash-register is set up, you can't see the screen... I thought the even dollar figure was a long-shot, but I was too tired to do much math, and he is probably counting on folks being too lazy or drunk or unobservant to catch him in this minor-grift (READ OTHER REVIEWS, TOO) When confronted by others he said "I don't have change" (or similar). IF YOU GO HERE, I RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING: When ordering, Please say "I need an itemized receipt showing tax for this business write-off". That SHOULD force him to either a) charge you the correct amount, b) allow you to use credit-card and not need change, or c) allow you to pay with your own change, and thereby take away his scamming excuse... They serve breakfast tacos, but don't open early enough for breakfast. The posted hours on Yelp are all wrong. Yelp lists the hours as open daily at 7AM until 3 PM. I think I walked by one day and saw them open at 10 AM, but my breakfast taco craving was settled by another storefront down the street a couple of hours earlier. Decided to eat here after two co workers of mine were talking about it at work since they had it the previous night. The one thing that tempted me were the chili cheese fries since I've been on the hunt for chili cheese fries like National Coney Islands.
