Original chicken strips with coleslaw and fries. Paired with the special Korean sauce(Dak Kang Jung)
    Camilla V.

I was craving Korean food and was in the area. So I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the original crispy chicken strips with fries and coleslaw. The chicken strips were so crunchy and yummy. Definitely satisfied my Korean chicken crave. The coleslaw was delicious and refreshing. It paired well with the fries and fried chicken. The sauce paired perfectly with everything. The Korean sauce had a nice kick and sweetness. The fries were not your typical fries. These were nicely golden and extra crunchy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The place was comfortable and casual. Totally recommend for a nice spot for Korean food!

This place is underrated. The food is a fusion of Korean and American. It's delicious, I got the tenders with fries. Can't beat these tenders and their Korean sauce. It's a good portion for the price. Also the owner was so kind and welcoming.

I've come here twice and highly recommend it. If you come here, be expected to wait 30 minutes (depending on what you order) because everything is made fresh! The drumsticks combination plate is my favorite because they are juicy and crispy! You can order online which I do suggest if you are in a time crunch. The owners are so friendly, definitely will be back.

Korean fried chicken done right. Popular location which makes it difficult to find parking, but well worth the stop. We had the chicken tenders and got a half dozen sauces to try them with. The cajun was odd, but the others were quite tasty. None of them were overwhelmingly spicy at all, but they have a good variety of flavors. The crispiness, texture, and flavor of the battered exterior was perfect. The chicken was perfectly juicy and tender. Enjoyed the honey rice cake and chicken as well, which was a nice combination. We definitely ordered too much fried food for lunch, but it was too delicious not to just eat it all. Will return to try the wings and other items.

Found this gem while randomly out on a drive. As newbies to ABQ, we were excited to have found a Korean place. The ambiance is a clean, small welcoming restaurant with enticing pictures of their food options. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes as their food is made to order. The counter staff was friendly and prompt. We ordered the following: - Drumstick plate in Korean Special sauce with fries The sizes of the drumsticks were impressive for the price. The only complaint is that the drumsticks were pink in the middle and would've liked it to have been cooked more. Would reconsider getting wings instead of the drumsticks with the Korean Special sauce next time. - Crispy chicken strips plate in Garlic sauce with rice Wasn't too impressed with this plate. The chicken strips were plain, not crispy at all and wished they were double fried or made crispier. The sauce is good with a little bit of a tangy taste. For being a garlic sauce, was surprised it was very green. The sauce went great with the fries. Overall a decent portion size altogether. - Honey Rice Cake with Chicken without any spice (for a young kid) My son really liked the sauce and says he would consider ordering this again. Definitely should eat when freshly made and hot. Would recommend and return to try other options.

Best Korean fried chicken in ABQ! My go to order is combo plate of hot crispy strips with fries. The strips are perfectly fried and battered everytime add Korean special sauce on the side, you won't regret it. Ive also had fried dumpling and they were delicious. I cannot wait to go back 10/10 food worth the wait. Pro tip: order online to skip line

Today was our second time visiting Kokia and I must say, Damn good stuff!!! The chicken is made to order so when it comes out it is volcano magma destroy your mouth piping hot! In a good way! The breading is crispy not burnt and bitter. Everything is seasoned well. The sauce is delicious and so good I couldn't even tell it was spicy till I started sweating. And if you take some home it's even better later in the day when it's cooled off a bit. My new favorite fried chicken spot in town! Can get a little pricy but it's worth it IMO.

Original Chicken tenders, fries (could have chosen rice), salad (coleslaw) and sweet and spicy sauce.

Really good food! Lots of variety in styles of chicken and sauces. The teriyaki chicken bowl was tasty, with lots of fresh veggies, good white rice, and a flavorful sauce. The chicken tenders were perfectly breaded and fried. The fries were good. The coleslaw was just lightly dressed, which was just right. The sweet and spicy sauce started sweet and ended spicy. Drinks were in a beverage fridge. Standard wait time was 20 minutes, which was fine with us. Inside was nicely decorated and the explanation at the counter good. Already planning a return visit! Will probably pre-order on the website and pickup next time.

Ordered 10 wings, Korean special style, with a side of waffle fries. The waffle fries were $6.99 which is a bit overpriced. The Korean special flavor is too sweet for my personal liking, but the wings themselves are fried well and the meat is tender and juicy. Very popular restaurant with many customers in and out in the evening time. Also ordered the honey rice cake and chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Such a yummy comfort food--chewy rice cakes and crispy fried chicken drenched in a savory sweet sauce. Would order again and again, pricey but worth it.

    Spicy chicken tenders -5 piece

We had the spicy chicken tenders and fries with the garlic dipping sauce. It's a little on the pricey side, but the portions are plentiful. The spicy chicken has a kick but is not too hot. It is gooooood and very crispy as I likWe took some home and reheated , it was even better.

Overall: Kokio doesn't make the best korean fried chicken, but it does seem to be made with a lot of care. Food: 3.5 Wing Plate: This meal comes with 5 wings, fries or rice, and coleslaw. I loved that the fries were super crispy due to the light batter. The wings had a nice glass-like batter, but the fat wasn't completely rendered out the way it normally is in Korean fried chicken. I got it with the garlic sauce which was perfectly sweet, garlicky, and buttery/parmesany. Service: 5 I called for take out and it was ready before the estimated time. I appreciate the care that comes with the packaging. They thoughtfully left the box half open to prevent the food from getting soggy. Ambiance: 4 Kokio Chicken is located in a strip mall with a small parking lot. It seems bright and clean, and it does have seating for dine in.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly set the stage for what would be an unforgettable meal. The rustic charm of the decor, combined with the lively buzz of happy diners, made it feel like a home away from home. I started with the Shrimp and Grits, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, plump, and juicy, seasoned to perfection with a subtle kick that danced on my taste buds. The grits were creamy and rich, with just the right amount of buttery goodness, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that left me wanting more. Next up was the Fried Chicken and Waffle Jr. Plate, a true masterpiece. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned with a secret blend of spices that elevated it to new heights. The waffle was fluffy and golden, a perfect vessel for soaking up every drop of syrup. While I do wish they used Vermont maple syrup grade A, it was by no means a flaw, it only added to the charm of the dish. The Sweet Tea was the perfect accompaniment to my meal. It was refreshingly sweet, with a hint of lemon that brightened each sip and left a lingering taste of summer. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure every need was met with a smile. Their genuine hospitality added to the overall experience, making me feel like a valued guest. Frank's Chicken and Waffle is a culinary gem in Albuquerque, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. They tasted ok but the salsa and a pink sauce (?) helped to give them more flavor. The atmosphere was ok and the Friday evening crowd was arriving. We ate inside and our server, Sophia, was very good. It didn't take long to get our dinners except my partner's salad took forever! The salads are included w the meals. My salad was different and good which was a Blackeye pea, corn, & more ingredients. My experience there was disappointing since I wanted ribs and not "soggy" fish tacos.
