Koko is on the top of my list for favorite restaurants. Amazing every time, you can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. From any of the cheesy queso fondido options to the fresh and crispy tostaditas de ceviche or guac, all you need to really decide is what type of mood you're in, ooey gooey or refreshing and light, or all of the above. Highly recommend the enmoladas de pollo and mole negro. I've also shared the A la leña plates and tacos. Make sure to make a reservation, restaurant is always pretty full.

Norman was the best waiter. Super attentive and kind and worked with all of our modification requests. Finally tried the steak at KoKo and it did not disappoint. Super tender and so many sides to accompany. The pepper and the corn are my favorite. The ambiance here is also so vibey. So tropical! Prices pretty well for the area. My friend also got the grasshopper taco and it was not bad at all! Tasted like ranch chips.

YALL! OH. MY. ALLAH. I do not understand how I've waited so long to go to Koko and I am absolutely kicking myself for it. Everything was phenomenal. You walk in and you're instantly transported. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the service is absolutely phenomenal. If you go, ask for Brandy, she will definitely take care of you. And the food. I left ROLLING. We tried their Lunch Miami Spice menu and for $40 you get legit sized portions and a great thing they do is that if one person in your group is doing Miami spice, not everyone at the table has to do it. The Miami Spice lunch is 11-4 & dinner is 4-close. They have happy hour Monday through Friday 4-6PM and all their drinks and Mexican wines are half off. Another thing I loved is that they have home made salsas, they make their blue corn tortillas and chips in house AND they have insects on the menu! They have recommended pairings for all their dishes with their hundreds of tequilas and mezcals AND they can make any margarita skinny or spicy. You know I got it spicy. This is definitely a place you need to RUN to.

Beautiful setting. We were seated in a little corner couch which was very nice. Ordered Passionfruit and Cilantro margarita and a Mango Margarita. Both were delicious. Appetizers were shrimp and mango ceviche and the guacamole. Very nice portions to share. Marcel our server recommendations were on point. Entrees we had the chicken and the skirt steak. Presentation was outrageous. Check out the photos. Mezcal choices were plentiful.

WOW! I don't give 5 stars freely but KOKO certainly deserves it. We absolutely loved our experience there. We made a reservation easily on OpenTable, and requested an outdoor table. The friendly staff accommodated our wish to be sat at a specific table outside, and throughout the visit everyone was very nice. The table had incredibly comfortable chairs, and the entire outdoor patio area was really nice. The overall style and decor of the restaurant is outstanding. They have an outdoor bar that looks like a great place to hang out. We were quickly greeted by our server Marlon, who guided us through our choices of cocktails and food. He was on point with his recommendations. We had a couple of margaritas that were very refreshing, as well as a different take on an old-fashioned with tequila and Mezcal. We ordered the guacamole appetizer, and I probably could've eaten another two bowls of it! My wife and I shared a board of grilled skirt steak that came with a delicious poblano chile relleno with Oaxaca cheese, guacamole, retired black beans, and corn. We also shared an order of baked pork tacos that were so flavorful! Everything was absolutely delicious.

Absolutely delicious. Tortillas are made in house and you can taste the homemade goodness. Plenty of tequila options for margaritas. The guac is a must, even though it's the giant chips, super creamy. The flautas are the perfect amount of crunchy and the short rib tacos were mouth watering. Chefs kiss! Our waiter, who I wanna say was named Jorge, was THE BEST.

I love Koko. But on a recent visit I chose the ribeye and it's a very poor cut. First I was served a medium well when I had asked for a medium. Then when the second steak came, while it was properly cooked at a medium, it was clear there was zero marbling and it was far too lean. I get it, it's not a prime steak and they want to keep it at an affordable cost. But it's a terrible cut. Just get the skirt steak.

I came here, searching for ceviche. What started with a search for ceviche ended with an incredibly satisfying experience with attentive staff, and an incredible selection of ceviches. The staff recommended some dishes we had to try, and boy where they good. We vowed to come back for more menu items, and more dishes, because everything that passed by us seemed expertly made and appetizing.

I was extremely impressed by Koko! First off, the restaurant is beautiful, with a great bar and plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. This would be a great spot to bring family or have a large group dinner. Mexican food at more upscale restaurants can be hit or miss, but WOW Koko was a hit! Everything we got was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The homemade tortillas were plentiful and delicious, I left stuffed! Koko should definitely be on your list for a dinner out in the grove!

We visited Koko after the rain. The entrance was so magical and beautiful. Inside was cold and we settled outside since it was not so hot. The server, Juan, suggested the snapper was excellent. So, we ordered it with salad. The snapper came with 2 different kinds of seasoning and both were excellent. We finished our meal with flan. We really enjoyed our food and atmosphere there.

We loved having our anniversary dinner here! The food was 11/10 and the service was even better. Thank you so much to Miguel for the amazing hospitality and amazing recommendations. If you're thinking about coming here stop thinking just go!!!

Incredible food, ambiance, drinks, and service. Very authentic Mexican cuisine. You can tell everything is made with quality ingredients and homemade. They have so many flavors of margaritas it was hard to decide. Also they come in fun cups and are delicious. The shrimp tacos were delectable, so tender and the veggies added were a great touch. Guac was awesome and the chicken flautas were so crispy with pulled chicken inside. The side of black beans might have been my favorite thing though. So simple yet so good. The vibe of the restaurant makes you feel like you're in a tropical paradise whether you sit indoor or outdoors.

The Beso de Fuego cocktail is a must-try if you like spicy tequila passion fruit drinks, and the dates, frito mixto, and salt cod croquettes were cooked beautifully. While it's a bit pricey (expected for Coconut Grove real estate), the main thing to note is the ambiance: it plays pretty loud house music. If house isn't your genre, it can feel a bit noisy. Overall, I'd absolutely go back, but I'd use it as a trendy pre-dinner drink spot rather than a main event destination.

As soon as we got up to the top floor, it was obvious that we were not the first to come up with this plan. We looked around for an open bar table, and we were eventually approached by a server. She handed us two menus and asked us if we were partaking in any food for the evening. We told her we would love to see a menu and may order some appetizers. We were aware that we were coming during a busy time as the match was ongoing, but she did give off an attitude that indicated she was stressed and potentially unhappy that she had to work this particular shift. My cousin and I started with the Frito Mixto seafood appetizer. It was an adequate size portion that was served with a delicious, garlic aïoli sauce, lemon, and sliced red pepper. It was a mixture of shrimp and calamari. We enjoyed the atmosphere and wanted to know that we really enjoyed the decor and all of the plants that made the rooftop feel more like a garden. It was definitely Coconut Grove vibes. My only critique other than the service would be that we noticed the prices were a bit elevated for the selections. This would not be a regular go-to spot for me due to that. It was a very nice view and spot to check out nonetheless.

My friend and I waited near the hostess stand for a bit and felt overlooked as everyone was understandably focused on the situation. A simple "hello, welcome, we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Having worked in hospitality for many years, I know things happen behind the scenes, but guest communication is so important. After a short wait, the manager stepped in, apologized, and got us seated, which I really appreciated. From that point on, the service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and helpful, and I especially want to shout out the food runner, who was personable and made a great impression. One thing that could have been handled better: our server took our drink order but never mentioned happy hour. When we later asked for the menu, we were told it was only available at the bar. Since I use a wheelchair for mobility, getting onto a bar stool would have been difficult, so I felt that a more accessible accommodation should have been offered. You'll see in my video I was the 4 top right next to the bar. That said, the food was good, and I still had a nice time with my friend. With just a little more attention to communication and accessibility, this could have been an even better experience.
