Spicy Tuna Snack Wrap
Lizzie Y.

Kokoda in Seaport is a great place to for poke! Their fish is always fresh and bowls are super delicious. Sometimes I get one of their signature bowls and other times, I enjoy building my own. Last time I had Kokoda, I ordered delivery from Ubereats & I got two spicy tuna snack wraps + the Seaport special. I actually really enjoyed the spicy tuna snack wraps, especially with their spicy mayo dipping sauce. I liked the Seaport special, as well, but wished that they didn't use guacamole ("avocado mash"). I would've enjoyed it more if it was just avocado pieces/slices. There's already a bunch of flavors going on from the sauce drizzles & I think that they don't need to complicate the avocado any further... simpler would be better ;) Don't get me wrong, I do love guacamole, just not in my poke bowl. Aside from that, Kokoda is good place to go for poke!

The poké bowl here may be slightly cheaper than elsewhere at $15 (before tax and tip), but it isn't worth it. The scoops of protein are small and they are so light on the sauce that the rest of the bowl is pretty bland. The flavors in general are whitewashed and not really Hawaiian. There are so many other food options in the neighborhood that you'd be better off going somewhere else.

Came here on a Friday evening for dinner and we were the only ones in the space to start, but as our meal continued, more and more folks filed in. The upstairs seating area they had seemed decently full by the time we left so I'd say it felt lively towards the end of our dinner! This is a meal where you order at the front and pick it up when it's ready. The person at the cashier was kind and friendly with answering our questions about the menu and then our food came out relatively quickly after so it was pretty fast service wise. They have a diverse menu and I enjoyed the types of bowls we could choose from. I will say that I'm a salmon lover personally so it was a little disappointing to see that salmon was only in one of their house bowls, but that's just personal preference. The food had a great presentation when it did come out. Each bowl felt super dense as well and portion wise, it really was quite decent. Given how pricy this bowl was, I'm glad it lived up to the cost. I've gone to their Love Art Sushi location and often feel underwhelmed by the fish portion there - Kokoda definitely felt more satisfying to eat as there was plenty of fish/protein in both bowls. The drinks weren't as exciting as they didn't have the boba jelly they have at LAS, but they were pretty refreshing. You can kind of taste the powder in the matcha one, but I think I preferred that one since the mangoade was pretty sweet. I'll say that if you're looking for poké in the Seaport area, this spot is definitely not too bad. I'm unsure if I'll come back due to the prices, but the service and food itself tasted pretty good. Thanks for a delicious meal, Kokoda!

Food: DELICIOUS, super fresh, and HUGE poke bowls! Everything was super high quality and made to perfection. Definitely, this is some of the best poke that I've had! Service: Food was really fast (I mean it is poke, haha), I also recommend the Jasmine green tea (unsweetened hehe). Ambiance: Store is cute, quiet, small (but has 2 floors of seating), but lots of natural light. It was nice and quiet on a Saturday at 3pm for a late lunch with friends. So glad I was able to check out this place on a Saturday, such a yummy poke spot!

New poke place in Seaport! There is a second floor here and the restaurant has a tropical/beach house vibe. It was not too busy when I came here on a Friday night. The upstairs has some dining tables and the downstairs has a couple of bar seat areas. The service here is also very fast and the workers are very friendly. I got the Crawfish Party Bowl - WOW!! There's a lot of flavor in this and the crawfish tasted awesome. I think the peppers add a nice spice kick to this and compliments the crawfish well. The drinks here are also pretty good. My friend got a matcha tea and thought it was a good amount of matcha and wasn't too milky. I also got a passionfruit tea and it was flavorful as well, it did not have the perfume-y taste that most fruit teas have.

The design of this cute little poké place immediately caught my eye, the food turned out to be just as good! I created my own custom bowl with 1 protein (and a bunch of other toppings), and the staff brought it out to me within just a couple minutes. The quality of the ingredients was definitely there for me, however, I wish I received more protein for the price. I got a pretty standard bowl for around $14, and I've definitely received more at other places in the past for that price. Regardless, it was still very tasty and left me satisfied!

This spot has some delicious poke bowl. The ingredients are fresh. The drinks were tasty. Definitely a good idea to try

If you ever find yourself in Boston's Seaport and craving sushi, check this place out! With an adorable two-floor interior, this unassuming poke place has a wide range of premade bowls, make-your-own bowls, snack wraps, and more! We ordered the Seaport Special bowl, Hawaiian Shoyu bowl, the Lomi Lomi and Spicy Tuna snack wraps, and two drinks! The Seaport bowl came with salmon, tuna, avocado mash, corn, edamame, tomatoes and some sauces on top of rice and some greens. The quality of the fish was great but I didn't entirely love the combination of ingredients. I think it could've done without the tomatoes but overall good flavor! The Hawaiian Shoyu comes with tuna, onions, cucumber, and scallion on top of rice and greens as well. This was a little bland because there wasn't any sauce but tuna was still very fresh! The Spicy Tuna snack wrap was pretty standard but I was pleasantly surprised by the Lomi Lomi wrap! It came with chopped salmon, tomato, and onions. It almost tasted like a lox bagel wrap. We got both the Passionfruit Mangoade and Dragonfruit Lime Refreshers and they were delicious. My favorite was the Passionfruit Mangoade! Overall, I would definitely go again for a quick, fresh meal.

Kokoda does a great job of integrating authentic poke into their menu that you would find in a local grocery store in Hawaii, which is where I was born and raised. They use the same "build your own bowl" style that is really common in the mainland, but the fish is cut into large cubes (more authentic) and tossed with more traditional sauce options (soy sauce, creamy spicy, etc) before the toppings. You can also get more traditional Hawaiian toppings like furikake, masago, and sweet onion. They also have a "by the pound" menu, which is personally what I'd go back for. It's the best value and the best option if you're going there for the quality of the fish, which was buttery and had a melt in your mouth texture. The only con is that it's Seaport pricing, but that can't be helped.

Stopped by Kokoda to get some dinner to-go. I am a big fan of the Love Art group's other stores, so had high hopes for this new concept. And those high hopes were met -- the ingredients was fresh / delicious and the bowls were filling (pretty good value, though $16 for a bowl is still steep). Highlights for me were the addictive Pina Colada Fresca drink and the subtle but fragrant coconut flavor in the ceviche / rice of the Fijian Kokoda bowl. Food 1. Fijian Kokoda (5/5) 2. Seaport Special (4.5/5) Drink 1. Pina Colada Fresca (5/5)

I was so excited to try this new and fun take on Hawaiian poke! I ordered a classic Shoyu Ahi and a new Fijian Ahi bowl which came out to $37. They were both delicious, made with fresh, red, huge cubes of ahi that made me feel like I was in Hawaii. The Fijian was a bit more sweet than I prefer but I enjoyed the coconut milk twist. The Shoyu Ahi was savory and perfect for the hot summer day in Boston. If I had to change one thing, for $37, I'd like to have more pieces of fish in maybe smaller pieces to feel more full after. There we about 10-12 pieces of fish in the bowl. Overall, I would love to return to Kokoda and build my own bowl or try new flavors!

Really good poke! Super fresh fish and HUGE portions. I got the seaport special bowl, which was ~$16. It was expensive, but they did give a lot of fish and avocado. My friend got a hawaiian shoyu classic bowl, which had a lot less ingredients in it, and tasted good but was too salty. The seaport bowl was def better.

Funny enough when we visited my friend was also in town that weekend and by happenstance we happened to get to the restaurant at the same time. I would definitely make reservations because I did not realize you would need a reservation for a Wednesday night, but we did. Luckily we were able to give our name and they had a cancellation and were able to be seated within 20 to 30 minutes. The upstairs is pretty cool. I really like the decor. One of my favorites was these monkey lamps they had. The food was pretty good and we had gotten a slider for my son which basically filled him up. My wife and I split a poo poo platter and got an appetizer and that was enough for us. The drinks were really good. We had gotten a few to try. I like my first one and really enjoyed my second one. I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she made one and then when we went for our second round she did say she was new to the job so I went with something I knew I would like. They also sell some of their mugs which is a cool bonus. If your into tiki drinks definitely pick up a wusong road branded mug when you stop by. We got two.

If you're needing to be in Cambridge, near the universities or even Fenway, then this is a solid option. I arrived around 11pm and check-in was fast and friendly to my one night stay. Unfortunately, the Paperback Tavern had already closed and there's a lack of food options nearby. My room, a king with river view was quiet, other than what sounded like a neighbor bouncing a ball in the morning. Street noise was not an issue at all. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. I ate breakfast at the Paperback Tavern. As a Hyatt Globalist it was free but was rather simple and included eggs, choice of meat, roasted potatoes, and choice of bread and coffee or juice. The food tasted good and came out relatively quick. Checkout was easy and my bill was accurate. Prior to checkout I used the complimentary shuttle, which drops off at 4 nearby areas. Overall, I'm happy with my stay. I got a good rate of $150, which is fair. In the future I'd stay here again if I needed to be in Cambridge or headed to Fenway.

My original post was written mid-flight, so here's a clearer version with better details…read more The hotel is very nice overall, but it doesn't always feel like a true 4-star experience. I came to Boston for a work trip, and honestly, they cut corners in ways that surprised me. I've stayed at the Hyatt House before, which is only a 2-3-star property (also paid for by my employer), and they consistently offered more basic supplies. Here, I had one single bar of soap for almost two weeks. There are no microwaves in the rooms. Anytime I ordered food or had something delivered, the person couldn't bring it up--which I get for security reasons--but it became inconvenient to have to go downstairs every single time. They only offer shuttle service to the Cambridge area, which isn't really helpful. Expanding it to other nearby spots would make it a much better perk. The price swings were probably the biggest shock. Some nights were over $700, while others dropped to around $150. I understand supply and demand, but that kind of fluctuation is extreme. And for nearly $6,000 spent in less than two weeks, you'd think breakfast would be included. Instead, it's an additional charge. Covering breakfast for the entire stay wouldn't even cost them more than $250. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very clean, but there are definitely areas where the experience could be improved.

The thing that impressed me most were all the little touches that surprised me at every turn and made it so fun to be a guest here! *There's complimentary lemonade by the check in desk. I think it's there all day as I always see it no matter what time it is. *When you enter the elevator, the rug changes to say "Good Morning" or "Good Evening" depending on the time of day. I can't help but say good morning back to the elevator. Hahaha *There are a basket of complimentary snacks (chips like doritos, sun chips, etc. and cookies like Oreos, grandma's cookies, and trail mix) and bottles of water in your room that get refilled everyday, and if you need more, just ask. *In the evening, there's a cart by the elevator with treats that you can pick up on your way back to your room. One day was bags of fresh popcorn, another day was a selection of candies. *There's water refill stations in the gym and the 2nd floor - but they're not just any ordinary water station. It's called "bevi" and you can customize your water with different flavors like Tropical Melon Mist, grapefruit, watermelon, or peach mango (the second floor water station had different flavors), and you can even press the button to add "vitamin boost (vitamin C, zinc, vitamin d, and some other ones) or just plain water. The room itself is spacious, clean, and the beds are comfy. Cozy slippers and robes are available for you to use in the closet. There's a little fridge in the room, but no microwave, so if you wanted to heat something up, you're out of luck. When booking the hotel for this trip, my friend and I had a hard time finding a room with 2 beds, so I think 2 bed rooms are rare in Boston, so we really lucked out with this one. The staff is super nice and helpful, even the valet people are constantly opening the doors for us to go in and out. I can't recommend this place enough!
