Stopped by for a sweet treat after a girls day out at TJ maxx. The inside is aesthetically pleasing. I love matcha and decided to try their strawberry matcha but I told the employee I didn't want double matcha and he made it work! I definitely recommend it and the banana matcha as well. The chocolate walnut cookie was soo good and was recommended my the cashier. My friend got the banana pudding and I rated it a good 10/10. It was on the thicker side which I loved. However, my friend said it was too thick for her liking but the taste was perfect. Definitely stop by if you have a sweet tooth!!

Cookies were cold and hard. Two "Nutella" malasadas - not actually Nutella. Its chocolate.

I was craving dessert after lunch and Paderia was recommended. Not impressed.. POV: craving Nutella, paid $4.00 for one Nutella malasada, bit into it and found that it's not actually Nutella inside. It was regular chocolate. Please don't advertise Nutella if you use chocolate - it's not the same thing. $4 for a single malasada is a bit overpriced considering they aren't made fresh and were sitting in the back of the bakery and served cold. The cookies were around $6 and served cold as well. I ordered the sea salt chocolate chip - it was cold and hard. Not sure what the hype is about. Service was okay and the vibe is cute, but the actual pastries did not live up to the hype and are definitely overpriced.

Paderia never disappoints. I love this location because my favorite stores are near by. So whenever I'm doing running my errands, I'm definitely going to drop by paderia for some baked goods. I'm a very picky person when it comes to a chocolate chip cookie. I have this belief that if a bakery has a perfect chocolate chip cookie, everything else is great. My definition of a chocolate chip cookie has to have a crunchy outside, a good balance and amount of dark and milk chocolate chips , perfect sweetness level with the perfect ratio of brown to white sugar for sweetness and chewiness and the obvious soft and gooey center. Paderias is a 9 out of 10 for me and it never disappoints. My 2nd fav is their triple chocolate. Those two are hands down my all time picks. Ordering is done through iPads which is simple to navigate. You have to come early to snag their items because they do sell out rather quickly esp on the weekends. The interior is very clean and beautifully designed. Plenty of parking and easy to spot the location!

I wanted to update my review since its been years. I recently dropped in after lunch for some treats for my family. I ended up getting some egg tarts, cookies and malasada. They also have break pudding, cheesecakes, and drinks. They have seasonal flavors that changes. I enjoy their cookies best. They are thick and full of flavor. My favorite is their cookies and cream. I have found that sometimes you will run into a thick cookie where the inside is slightly undercooked. But not bad just on the sweeter side. I find their egg tarts to be kinda small for the price. Especially if you compare them to Chinese egg tarts. As for their malasadas I enjoyed the cream filled one. They aren't too sweet which I like. Items usually come pretty quick once you order. Sometimes they run out of items. The inside is small and better for grab and go but they do have some sitting to enjoy really quick.

Paderia has good matcha and delicious varieties of baked treats to choose from. Their cookie are so unique and tasty, I'd rather come here than crumble for a cookie

Felt like coffee after our lunch and remembered this was close by. This place has a variety of coffee flavors and the ube coconut was delicious. Also shared a cookie which was crunchy and had a soft center. Recommend for those who have a sweet tooth. Located by Shabuya and other retail shops. Parking can be a challenge even though they has a lot

Now it's pretty obvious, Paderia is my favorite pastry snack shop. Been here at least twice this past week to get my favorite ensaymada and cookies. Their malasadas are heavenly! Fast and friendly service. Great location too since it's close to home.

Malasadas and banana pudding! MUST GET!

My go-to dessert place when I'm in the area! Worth the visit. Parking can be a bit hectic on the weekends because of the surrounding restaurants and stores. I'm always greeted when I go in. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you make a selection. The store is small, with minimal bar stool seating. This location is more of a grab & go. I love the ease of ordering ahead online, a self-help kiosk or have one of their friendly staff take your order. Today's visit I order the Strawberry Horchata with house-made strawberry puree and the Citrus Refresher. After ordering I overheard the cashier describe the seasonal cookie (Mexican Hot Chocolate) to a customer after me and I knew I had to get one. So glad I did because the cookie was perfectly baked, crunchy edges and moist center with a light shell of cinnamon sugar. Wish they had an espresso machine to add some shots to the strawberry horchata. Last time I tried it with the iced coffee but it was not quite what I was wanting. I highly recommend getting the Ensaymada with Cheese, Nutella Malasada and Vanilla Banana Pudding!!! *drool*

Every time I crave a cookie, Paderia is where I run to. Their dome-shaped cookies are thick, bold, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like my cookies. Triple chocolate is my favorite. Second to that are the sea salt and white chocolate raspberry. They're also known for Portuguese Egg Tarts. Their coffees are OK. I tried the Vietnamese coffee once and it was a little bitter. I dig their store layout, from the sweets display to wall decor. Modern and clean.

Paderia Bakehouse is a grab-and-go bakery and they stay open until sold out. They currently have 3 locations - Santa Monica, Irvine, and Fountain Valley. [Parking]: Free and easy plaza parking. [Atmosphere]: Very limited indoor seatings so most customers will probably be eating their baked goods in their cars. [Menu]: Super simple menu. Top sellers are Malasada (exclusive at this Fountain Valley location) and Portuguese Egg Tart. Apparently their Chocolate Walnut Cookie is an award-winning cookie and is comparable to the one from Levain Bakery. As for coffee, no drip coffee here and Americano is probably the next closest drink to drip coffee. Interestingly enough they also offer Vietnamese coffee. *** Vanilla Malasada (Portuguese doughnut; sugar-dusted golden brown doughnut with an exceptional eggy dough & exclusive to Fountain Valley location - $3.75): The filling just oozed out as I took the 1st bite. This powdered sugar donut wasn't as good as egg tart. I actually preferred no filling as plain malasada already had right amount of sweetness. Portuguese Egg Tart (Custard Tart. Crisp, individually-moulded flakey pastry with a creamy custard center & distinguished caramelized top - $3.95): Expensive? Yes, but man this egg tart tasted really good - crusty crust and perfect sweetness. *** There's no question Paderia Bakehouse has one of the best Portuguese egg tarts in SoCal, but I have to knock a star for not even having a simple drip coffee to order and hefty price tags. I would probably re-visit again and try their Chocolate Walnut Cookie next time.

Craving something sweet?! You have come to the right place! Paderia has so many delicious treats--from Malasadas to cookies to banana pudding... and yes even egg tarts too! We stopped by on a rainy Saturday, so it wasn't too busy. But trust me, on a normal day it can get packed and items sell out fast. If you want to make sure you get everything in your list, I highly recommend you order online for pickup. We ordered banana pudding, cookies, and malasadas. You can even ask them to warm up the malasadas too (:

    Iced strawberry matcha

I really wanted to love this place because their ensaymada is what they're known for, but it's become so frustrating. Every time we make the drive here during the last hour they're open, the ensaymada is either completely sold out or they don't have the cheese version anymore. I even ended up with my strawberry matcha but no ensaymada, which was the whole reason for the trip. Since they bake in-house, I wish they would plan production so there are at least some ensaymadas available during the last hour of business. It feels disappointing to make the drive only to leave empty-handed over and over again. If something is your signature item, it should be available more consistently, or at least customers should be informed when it's likely to sell out. I really hope they improve this because the quality is great when they actually have it in stock. Right now, it's just disappointing to keep making the trip and having the same experience every time.

A delightful bakery specializing in cookies! Discovered it by querying the web for best cookies in the Costa Mesa area, and extremely happy with the find. The samples were delicious Rocky Road, Sea Salt Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Walnut, Peanut Butter Chocolate and Egg Tarts made the trip home.

When you enter, the location is huge! Tons of tables and seating. Nice! People are working, hanging out, and enjoying their food and drinks. I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They also have an outdoor area with covered seating surrounded by plants. The menu delivers just as much appeal as the setting. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.
