I tried this place on a whim. I was looking for something different so I thought I'd check it out because I had no idea what it was. To be honest, I'm really surprised by all the positive, raving reviews. This place isn't very appealing on the inside. Lacks any real personality. The menu is really limited. I decided to try the Barnyard, the Chorizo, Egg and Cheese, and a Blueberry pastry. First off, I would never order any of this again. I vote it low on the scale of flavor. The Chorizo, Egg and Cheese was the only thing that had much flavor and it really wasn't good. If you're into into a bread roll pastry then you'll love it! But as for a breakfast sandwich it lacked a lot! I think this explains why the place was dead on a Saturday morning. The guys taking the order were helpful, but nothing about this place was worth remembering. I will not be back. I'm fact I had to go down the street to get something else to eat because I was starving.

Had a great breakfast this morning at Kolache Republic. The staff was very helpful describing the menu and exploring options. The kolaches were super good with a lot of filling. Not pictured was the jalapeño popper one, and that was my favorite of the kolaches. The biscuits and gravy were great and for $6 it's a steal. We sat outside on a nice day and really enjoyed it. A great, easy, quick, and affordable breakfast in German Village.

Columbus Trip; located inside a brewery, order and pickup at window. You are able to sit in the brewery and eat. Food; WOW!! First time trying a Kolache, so decided to be brave and order the Kielbasa, Jalapeno and cheese one, it was super good. The bread was fresh, and made the entire meal delicious. Service; Very friendly and patient while I decided on which one to get. Will go back for sure next time in Columbus.

We hadn't tried kolaches before, so when I realized we'd be in the area, we decided to give them a try! We placed an online order ahead of time, but between the time we ordered and we got there, they had a sell out on one of the kolaches. They kindly replaced it with another available option and threw in an extra kolache, which was very nice. We ended up with three sweet kolache: sweet cheese, blueberry sweet cheese, and butterscotch pear. They also offer cinnamon rolls on the weekend, so we went with one of the regular and one of the weekend special, which, on the day of our visit, was a Ferrero Rocher Cinnamon Roll featuring a Nutella mix filling and a Nutella cream cheese icing. Everything was quite tasty, with both cinnamon rolls and the sweet cheese kolache being favorites. Kolache Republic is located inside of The Daily Growler, and they have a small parking lot located behind the building. The staff was friendly and efficient. The menu also includes savory kolache options, and they do have a dinner menu available on the weekends. We're looking forward to trying more flavors in the future!

I finally got to try fresh kolaches from Kolache Republic and they are everything! Tucked inside the Daily Growler, this is one of those little "if you know, you know" places. First, know that I love handheld foods. Empanadas, calzones, poptarts, Uncrustables... they're all my jam. And now kolaches! Yum. We got three sweet kolaches, which are slightly smaller and have open tops: sweet cream, key lime and strawberry. All were utterly delish. Soft, fresh bread dough with delectable fillings/toppings. Then we also tried the savory kielbasa and cheese, which was larger and wholly contained within the bread/bun. Also fantastic although the kielbasa was one whole stick/link; for some reason I thought it would be cut into pieces inside. Nonetheless! We loved our kolaches and will definitely be back. Too bad this is right next door to the big bakery chain starting with P. I wonder how many people go in there for mass-produced baked goods when they could be having freaking delicious kolaches instead. Don't be one of those suckers! Eat at Kolache Republic.

Haven't been to the new location much, often times when I have thought of going it was one of the days they are closed. But today I made the trip and got a hash brown, egg, and cheese kolache. OMG I swear these have doubled in size! I don't remember them being this big and for the price at $5 I think that's pretty good. The flavors were decent, nothing that blows my mind but a good filling breakfast on the go.

I'm a kolache snob. I was spoiled growing up near a Czech bakery and have very high standards. Y'all. This place had some amazing kolaches. I'm talking top tier. I also loved that they had a vegetarian breakfast kolache option. The service was super fast. Make sure you get there early as they were already running low on some items when I got there.

5/5!! Delicious pastries both savory and sweet and really good prices. We stopped by on a weekday morning after having one too many drinks the night before. Sounds weird to have kielbasa jalapeño and cheese as hangover food but it just worked. It was the worker's the worker's recommendation specifically for hangover... I hesitantly went for it but it was amazing. The dough is so pillowy soft for both the savory and sweet treats. I'll certainly come back again. They have weekend specials and rotating items. I really like the cold brew as well.

Super neat location and the Kolaches are delicious (I went for the Sausage, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Kolache). The gentleman whom waited on me was super knowledgeable, and we discussed the Estonian version - Pirukad! Pretty decent size Kolache, with wonderful flavor, reasonable price and a nice, cozy little area to dine. Very enjoyable experience, will be coming back!

Quality, tasty, and very unique. This is the only place in town that you can get these. If you are local and you haven't been, what are you waiting for? If you are from out of town this is a "must stop" before leaving town. I loaded up on this order in hopes that it would last a few days and it did. I managed not to eat everything on my way home lol! Order 2 x Steak and egg kolache 1 x Breakfast sausage egg and cheese kolache 1 x Kielbasa cheese 2 x Butterscotch pear 2 x Cinnamon roll 1 x Biscuits and gravy 1 x Staufs coffee I had 2 complaints: I almost drove away but realized they forgot my coffee. The sausage gravy was on my biscuits. It was disappointing as I had planned on having it for breakfast the next morning. Instead I had to eat it when I got home as it would have been no good the next morning. The gravy should be in a cup for takeout orders. Be sure to check out my previous review for more great info. @ohiofoodlover

How can we correct this site status as it is open?

It is open at a new location; I think there are review entries for both sites.

We're looking for Kalache in the form of a rounded loaf of bread. Is this Easter Bread available here?

Never seen that there. These are small kolache, Texas-style. St. John Chrystostom church sells nut-roll type kolache, and might have something like you want. They sell them around Easter and Christmas.

The service made this experience memorable. The gentleman working asked me if it was my first time. He made some recommendations. They were out of corned beef for the #3 The Eiffel Tower so he substituted bacon for me instead. I liked that the buns are smooshed flat, the meat and cheese heated and melted, and then the additional toppings diced up into smaller pieces. I had about a 20 minute drive that could have made the difference, but once I started eating the sandwich it was good but aa bit chewy. It might have been less chewy if I would have ate it right away. I also ordered the specialty croissant. The staff person asked me if I was okay with the price, it was $8. I appreciated he let me know the price and made sure I still wanted it as it was a bit pricey. The croissant was amazing! This was also a food that was better ate day of. I had it the next morning for breakfast and although it was delicious you could tell it was getting stale already. It was beautifully made. Add in that the delivery driver spoke no English, tried to kick our English Staffy who ran out whilst smiling to say "hi" (if you know anything about Staffy's, you know they love people and don't have a mean bone in their body), our food was cold because it was delivered 1.5 hours late, and I was about to lose my flipping mind. Now onto the food... These were quite honestly some of the worst subs we've ever had. Subway is miles ahead of this hot garbage, and it's not remotely close. The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other.
