My friend and I stopped by for brunch last weekend - we didn't have a reservation but there were plenty of tables open for us. (Seems they might be more of a dinner place). The ambiance is very nice - not too loud - and the decor feels very casually elegant. We started with a duck liver parfait. The brioche was really delicious - light, fluffy, and buttery, and it paired wonderfully with the richer and savoury flavours of the duck. I do wish they gave a bit more bread, the parfait was really delicious, but a little too heavy to eat just by itself, and the ratio of duck to bread was a little skewed (in our opinion) haha. We also ordered the Ei im Glass - also fantastic, although the pedant in me wants to note that there were technically two eggs. Anyways, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a deliciously runny yolk, and the Hollandaise was really excellent. I'd definitely recommend this, it was a really authentic representation of a classic Viennese dish. The schnitzel was good, but didn't shine as much. I think the biggest flaw was the breading, which felt a bit light and airy. The pork itself was tasty, and I really, really adored the potato salad, which was cooked to a perfect tenderness and paired with a lovely creamy sauce. Finally we shared the apple strudel. The apple flavour was really fresh and paired nicely with the cinnamon, but I did feel that the pastry was a little bit soggier than I would have liked -- I fear it didn't quite have that classic flakiness. In any case, it was a super yummy meal all around, and price point was honestly quite reasonable (and better than I expected given the quality of food). I'd be keen to come back to give their dinner menu a try!

The food did LOOK appetizing on google map, but did not taste accordingly. Reserved online but had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. While we wait standing by the bar, front desk rudely told us to NOT to BLOCK the way. ? We went up and the tables were completely empty, VERY CONFUSED, if all empty why were we waiting for such a long time? And, why were we getting the secondary, nearly-empty, upstairs seat, if we had reserved and waited? Food is not as good as expected. Endive salad is ok, and the deserts are ok, but the main dishes are disappointingly mediocre. Dorade is too dry, Duck Suzette is weirdly too gamey, unlike the taste of ANY duck meat I have had in my life. The food did LOOK appetizing on google map, but did not taste accordingly.

Was a bit skeptical to be dining at a hotel adjacent food spot but this place was exceptional. The food was really well made especially the savory and sweet soufflé which I would highly recommend. The place was dimly lit and lovely enough a a date spot. There's a sommelier to help you pair wine selection, which is extensive including a few NA options (by the glass). Pretty attentive staff just be prepared for lots of reminders on your reservation

They're in the hotel next door, they have their own entrance but if you need to use the restroom, you have to ask the host. They provide you with a keycard and you go through the cafe in the hotel to the restroom in the basement. I've been here a couple times now but only for brunch and really enjoyed their eggs each time. I have gotten the Ei em glas and their Kernöl. It's so simple but done so well. I like mezcal, and I really enjoyed their slice of Oaxaca drink, it is smoky and not too sweet.

I went in specifically for the salmon en croute. Surprisingly, it wasn't on the menu and I had to specifically ask if they had it. Luckily they did! After trying it, it's definitely one of my most memorable salmon dishes I've ever had

Came here for brunch with a friend on a Sunday. I think this is more of a dinner spot as there were not very many people there in the morning at around 10am. We had a reservation and were seated immediately and greeted promptly by the server. We ordered the Palatschinken (a crepe with apricot filling dusted with confectioners sugar), the pain a chocolat, and the lobster burger. The apricot crepe was fine. The texture was nice, but I really couldn't taste the apricot which I was really hoping would shine through the whipped cream and powdered sugar. The croissant was pretty standard, nothing special. My favorite thing we ordered was the lobster burger! It was really lemony and fresh and didn't fall apart as you ate it. I would definitely come back for dinner!

Brunch review. Just order it all. And if you can't order it all, get these: - Carrot Bread: Better than your grandma's - Roasted Beets "Linzer": A deconstructed beet linzer cookie, complete with pieces of candied orange and hazelnut crust to complement the sweetness of the pink and red beets. Why hasn't anyone thought to make a salad taste like a cookie? Genius. - Kernöl: Tasty "styrian-style" soft scrambled eggs with plenty of homemade baked bread to slather them on. - Goulash: As good was what I had in Hungary and savory enough to make me cry tears of joy. I could eat that buttered spätzle every day. - Viennese Apple Strudel: I generally don't care for apple desserts, but of course Koloman made me temporarily change course with its flaky, crusty, perfectly spiced pastry with rum raisins, toasted hazelnuts and frozen buttermilk. I spent a week in Vienna and don't know if I had any apple strudel there as good as this. We first experienced Koloman at an LA Times-hosted food festival. Among so many A-list restauranteurs, their offerings stood out as one of the best. Now that the restaurant has successfully passed my brunch test, I'll quite happily shell out more for dinner. Besides, it's good practice for when I jet off to Germany in a couple of months. Mmmm, endless spätzle....

TLDR: Replacing what was The Breslin is now Koloman. This is a very European restaurant. I've only been for lunch but for this level of dining, probably one of the better prefixe menus. I think the focaccia is worth it and for my selections, tartare, schnitzel and strudel. I went through a week of just eating a lot of fancy lunches solo. This day I hit up Koloman as I was curious about their prefixe for awhile. I added the warm pumpkin focaccia and yeah - that was tasty. Definitely rubbed in plenty of oil but it was nicely crispy on the outside but oh so fluffy on the inside. That butter was something else too. For the selections I started with the tartare. Typical french preparation, not too eggy or rich. Adequate acidity and very flavorful. Schnitzel. I wanted to like this a bit more but it was still good. The schnitzel coating was quite thin but maybe the way it was plated on top of each other - it kind of steamed out the coating and it just fell off. I liked the warm potato salad that accompanied it. I still am not a fan of lingonberry but I can appreciate it. Strudle. Very thin layers, tasty but maybe too much powdered sugar for my preference. Overall - I liked the food enough that Id' be back and maybe try some other things on the menu. Standout for me on this meal though? Focaccia, tartare.

Food was really good and I really like the space here as it feels very french and upscale. Great decor and the food came out quickly. Fast service and got to try their foodweek set menu which was really good but a bit on the pricier side. Would definitely come back for the tartare

What a gem. Don't skip on the bread service. I think the menu is designed more for individual entrees but we shared everything and loved it. The Kingfish crudo and tuna carpaccio were so refreshing, the crudo sauce was to die for. The beef paprikash and the salmon en croute are a MUST. Both dishes were absolutely unreal. Unlike anything I've had in NYC before, both super rich and flavorful. The beef two ways was hearty and the salmon was delicate. Also don't forget about that cucumber salad that comes with the schnitzel, it was a highlight. Highly recommend!!

Awesome meal at Koloman - great food and service, very nice atmosphere. We ordered a bunch but the highlights were the bread and butter, the mushroom farfalle, the duck and the salmon en croute entrees, and the apple strudel. So good, executed very well, great presentations, delicious food

Food: 4.2/5 Service: 4.3/5 Ambiance: 4.3/5 Koloman is in the Ace Hotel and is in the former Breslin space on 29th and Broadway. I went to try the restaurant week menu, so this review is solely for that. I cannot opine on the dinner menu, which looked like it had good stuff. That said, the country pate was delicious. The bread was lightly toasted and soft. The chicken schnitzel was good, the breading was thin, light, and crispy. Potatoes with lemon and butter were good. Viennese apple strudel was not bad. It was served warm but not hot so you don't have to wait to bite into it. Not enough rum in the rum raisins and the frozen buttermilk was ok but not quite my tempo. Too sour. Like yogurt. Service was very prompt and friendly and aware.

Highly recommend Koloman for brunch and dinner. Amazing service. Great ambiance. Simply the best place at NoMad.

Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.

Overall, a very satisfying dining experience with standout dishes throughout.

Classy interior, with mood lighting, and a few different nooks around the restaurant which insulates noise well. We had the Turkish Simit with Feta Butter, Crispy Calamari, Gem Lettuce Salad, Octopus, Pesto Cavatelli, and Chocolate Mousse. I love Turkish simit, and this was tasty, but it should really be served with two breads given the large quantity of feta. The calamari was a big portion and seasoned well with a wonderful fry on them, Salad was refreshing and the octopus dish was awesome. The pesto cavatelli has a lot of buzz, but it was just ok to me, the pesto was missing something. Can't go wrong finishing with the chocolate mousse, we were stuffed by the end of the meal and we didn't even order any mains.
