I've had ribs from Kommie Pig 4 times now and overall, I'm impressed with how tender and delicious they are. I also quite enjoy most of their sides, including the greens, baked beans, and potato salad. The ribs are legit. I gave 4 stars only because once I ordered from here and the ribs were badly burnt and mostly inedible. Otherwise, this place is great.

I am only giving 4 stars because of the sides, which seemed to not be from scratch, but the ribs were superb! I got a half rib platter when Kommie came to my job for a food truck event. The platter came with two sides, I opted for the Mac n Cheese and Collard Greens which tasted like they came from the can and box. The ribs were delicious in spite of, tender and falling from the bone. The sauce was mouthwatering and the ribs were beautifully seasoned. I recommend giving The Kommie Pig a try, it's well worth it.

The Kommie Pig is a staple at local food truck events, but I've never tried it until this past weekend. I got the pulled pork sandwich platter with mac and cheese and potato salad; the potato salad was DELICIOUS and creamy, and so was the mac and cheese. The pulled pork was pretty good, but it was a pretty regular sandwich. I loved that the truck had a little condiment bar, and I really liked the options on the menu. However, the wait was pretty long to get the food. I understand that only having two people running a food truck makes things hard, but we waited almost 20 minutes for our meals with only one person ahead of us. Pretty hefty of a wait for a food truck! I did really like the food though, and I'm definitely down to get some more Kommie Pig the next time I need BBQ!

Sooooo good. We went to the Baltimore food truck festival and ordered there and a few other places. We split the Chernobyl it was by far the best thing we ate that day. Great food and great service. Will definitely be back!

Their hot dog was standard (nathan's), but what gave it a kick of flair was the peppered pulled pork on top of it. Delicious!

Really good spicy pulled chicken sandwich. The fries were a bit on the salty side other than that no complaints.

I'm a pescatarian so I haven't tried their BBQ meats (the friends I've brought have raved about their brisket) but they do have a vegan jackfruit sandwich that's solid and I love their Mac and cheese. I normally go to sit at the bar and enjoy their cocktails and whiskey selection which is one of the best near me. They have a great selection of some of those hard to acquire bourbons and quite a few exclusive barrel picks. The last time I was in, my buddy and I finally tried their Buffalo Trace and Rittenhouse picks on their own (as opposed to my standard Manhattan) and I ended up taking a bottle of their Rittenhouse home.

Service was friendly and welcoming upon walk-in, but that was the best part of our experience. The food sadly did not match the reputation. EVERYTHING came out lukewarm, the brisket was overcooked and dry, cornbread was burnt and hard, greens had no seasoning, and the baked beans were overwhelmingly vinegary. The bratwurst was underwhelming with no real snap, and even the B-side drink was way too sour. The mac & cheese and coffee BBQ sauce were the only good items of our entire meal. I really hope the kitchen staff was having an uncommon off-day, because this visit didn't reflect the recognition at all. Our meal was a compete letdown, so I hope they improve for future diners soon. PS - There is an upstairs and a downstairs, but if you sit upstairs, you have to order your food downstairs - they do bring the food up to you though.

If you're talking Baltimore pit beef, Chaps Pit Beef has been a staple for years, and after coming here for over a decade, I can confidently say it still delivers every single time. Their new location, just a stone's throw from the original humble shack, is a huge upgrade. You get the same iconic food, but now with a much larger dining room that actually makes it easy to bring a group without fighting for space. It's the best of both worlds. Same old school flavor with a more comfortable setup. On my most recent visit, I stuck with my go to. A loaded hoagie absolutely packed with pit beef, corned beef, sausage, and turkey. It's massive, messy in the best way, and exactly what you want when you're craving something unapologetically Baltimore. I paired it with a large order of fries, which were piled high and perfect for sharing. Decided to switch it up a bit and try the Holy Cod fish sandwich too, and that ended up being a sleeper hit. Huge portion of crispy fried cod, topped with fresh coleslaw on a soft bun. Not something you usually go to Chaps for, but honestly worth ordering. Everything came out crazy fast, which is always impressive considering how busy they can get. Quick stop at the condiment bar is a must. Load up on the free pickles, onions, Carolina Gold mustard, and that tiger sauce. The horseradish and mayo combo just hits different on pit beef. Bottom line, Chaps might not be a hidden gem anymore, but it doesn't need to be. It still outperforms most spots in the pit beef game and continues to be one of the best sandwiches you can get in Baltimore.

It didn't even have the smell or feel of a proper pit beef place. Customer service also needs improvement. The cashier taking our order seemed more focused on watching the baseball game on TV than helping customers.
