It took me a while to decide what I wanted to eat since there were so many options in Hawthorne Asylum, but Rollin' Fresh stood out to me. It was the only raw seafood truck on the premises and that sounded good at the time. However, the food was okay. I feel like my sushi burrito lacked flavor and the raw fish wasn't the freshest. I do like the prices of their menu items. it's not as expensive as other sushi burritos I've paid for in the past. Service wasn't bad. I only had to wait about 10 minutes for my food. Ambiance is great as it's located inside a popular food court with several other food carts. There is plenty of seating inside. :)

You can get their dishes as sushi burritos, poke bowls, or poke salads. The Always Sunny poke bowl was pretty good. Decent quality and quantity of ahi tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. The ginger guacamole and green goddess sauce added a tangy, rich creamy element to the dish. The rice could have been better, but overall I enjoyed the food.

Pretty good poke place that shines more in the flavors than the fish. I got the showtime 1/2 & 1/2. Which means half rice and half salad. You also have the option of a sushi burrito or just rice or just salad. They're all the same price. The showtime comes with salmon, crab guac, pico de gallo and sauce. For being a fish place, they really skimped on the salmon. There were three slim slices. I guess for $11 I can't complain too much but it still seemed light. The other flavors were pretty good and everything tastes fresh. If you want something lighter I think it's a good option. Note that this is located in the Hawthorne food pod area.

Tried a sushiritto for the first time and I must say...pretty good. Had this delivered so didn't get to check out the digs but seems like there a couple locations to check out Ordered the Always Sunny and while I missed the dipping in soy sauce and nibbling ginger w each bite like w the reg rolls...I see the convenience of the "ritto" and the flavors were all there. I usually steer away from fusion or changing what already works but I must say this new twist on soosh was a pleasant surprise.

Mediocre food and a bit overpriced. I was looking for something "healthier" and this place stood out. I should've trust the most recent reviews and order from another food truck. Definitely not worth it and would not recommend. There was only 3 pieces of salmon and the rice was mushy. The ginger grac is dark in color indicating that the avocado is not fresh.

Walked around downtown and stumbled upon this food truck! I was craving a sushi burrito and have not found a spot I love yet. This was a nice treat and is super filling. I wouldn't say this is my fav sushi burrito but i would come back if i was in the area.

This place is SO delicious! My fiancé and I swung by here over the weekend and each grabbed a Bridgetown roll, we both agreed it was one of the absolute best sushirritos we've ever had. I like a crunchy note in sushi rolls, and the tempura coating on the outside of the roll just really makes this next level! I really can't wait to come back and try the City of Roses! I will note, this food cart pod is very busy every time I go, and people don't tend to be very careful. Multiple groups crowding at the same table around the fire to eat with no masks is a little troubling right now, as is no one paying attention to the enter/exit signs or bothering to keep any distance. This is no fault of the food cart owners, just the general public, the food cart owners are really just doing the best they can. That said, if you are being careful as we all should be, this isn't the ideal spot for that right now. We get it to go and try as hard as we can to stay away from the massless masses. They do also offer delivery on several apps.

So fresh and delicious. The salmon and veggies were fresh and the perfect portion for this sushi roll. The only thing missing was sauce for flavoring. They offer soy sauce and wasabi to the side, but that's about it. Definitely was able to finish the whole sushi roll for one person. Definitely the spot to go to if you're not super hungry and need a snacky snack on a warm fall day in Portlandia. There's outdoor seating with communal tables, so many different food carts to choose from. Great place to hang out with friends (social distancing of course!).

Wide array of offerings and all are very good. I had the rose city one which I thought had just the right amount of spice without being overpowering, and the whole concept of a sushirito is super cool to me. Cashier was nice enough but obviously since it's a food cart our interaction was brief. Location is super cool though and I loved all the different carts and the covered benches around the fire.

Always Sunny roll with Goma Seaweed Salad via Doordash delivery. Came we 3 pieces of ginger and really overcooked rice. Meh.

Quick but just OK. Rice in the roll was way overcooked. I ordered from here because they had the least amount of wait time for delivery with Door Dash. The order was made fairly quickly for lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the Always Sunny as a roll with a side of the Goma Seaweed Salad. The roll was a good amount of food for me but the rice was way overcooked. Rice can make or break sushi. This rice was mushy and barely retained the original grain shape (see my picture). They gave about a teaspoon of Wasabi, 3 slices of picked ginger, and gluten-based soy sauce. I asked for gluten-free so I'm guessing they don't have it. All in all it was just OK.

Do you have gluten free options?

We have multiple gluten free options on our menu, and all recipes can be modified to be made gluten free. All of our sauces are also gluten free, we offer gluten free soy (tamari) packets, and to clarify our burritos are not wrapped in tortillas,…

Is the fried avo salad vegan? (It would be super helpful to note which sides are vegan on the menu in addition to the well-noted main dishes!)

Yes the fried Avo salad is vegan! That is a very helpful pointer. We will definitely take that into consideration! We appreciate you reaching out to us!

Some of my favorites were - kanpachi - kome buri - ama ebi - salmon (I liked it more than the king salmon, maybe I have peasant taste) - toro The omakase was well thought out as you can see and we even enjoyed the miso soup. I think the price tag of $100/person can initially be steep but you can easily spend this much on these nicer orders. I was also worried they might drop the quality during the AYCE portion but it continued to be delicious and service was consistent throughout (there was another group of 13 people so service was a bit slow having to divide time between the rest of the restaurant and them). I highly recommend this place and will for sure come back. Some delicious quality fish and my new favorite if I'm coming hungry!

If you're not downtown, they also have a smaller location on the east side! To start I got the takoyaki, or fried octopus balls. It was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, with a tender and chewy piece of octopus, topped with a sweet sauce and fish flakes. Yum!! For my main, I wanted to try one of their broth-less udons and chose one of the specials, the Mentaiko kama-tama Udon--house-made flat udon noodles tossed in and onion oil, bonito, and soy dashi sauce. The noodles are topped with Men-taiko (spicy Tarako caviar), soft egg, tobiko, tempura puffs, green onions, and nori. I also added ikura (as recommended). I've never had flat udon noodles or broth-less udon but I'm forever changed. The minimal broth allows the toppings to be the stars of the show, and here was no exception. The flavors were complex, but balanced, and the variety of textures kept me coming back for another bite. The soy dashi sauce was full of umami and a subtle spicy kick, the fish eggs added pops of saltiness, and the tempura puffs and green onions added some crunch and offset the richness from the other toppings. The house-made noodles also made a huge difference, they were chewy but tender, and soaked up the soy dashi perfectly. I could not recommend Shigezo Izakaya enough!

Momoyama definitely delivers in the flavor department. What I was struck by was not just the freshness of the fish, nor the expert cuts...but the diversity of flavors. Perfect example - the King salmon with truffle knocked my socks off. I am not really a fan of salmon. I find its raw texture to often be a little soft to my taste and the funk of the omega 3s in quality salmon is just... not my bag. The truffle completely transformed the experience for me. I was not prepared for how well the earthy notes of the truffle complimented the King salmon. It made the sushi something to be savored without any of the traditional off-putting (to me) fishy funkiness. Highly recommended. Similarly, the octopus Sunomono was perfectly prepared. Often, octopus can be chewy. Not in this case. Additionally, the sauces and the salad greens complimented the dish and elevated it from traditional "sushi tastes." The bracing acidity made me want to eat more and was a delightful preamble for the rest of the meal. Service was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. We had a large group of eight and they were dutiful in informing us they had included gratuity in the bill so as to avoid double tipping. This small courtesy was not wasted on us. Service was always readily accessible without being intrusive. Orders were executed without defect and questions were answered pleasantly and with expertise. The restaurant has a pleasant and serene serving space. The bracing refrain of the "Irashai!" Greeting was a welcome touch that made me smile. Overall highly recommended. The prices were quite excellent given the quality of food and I would not hesitate a second visit. Sushi well, my friends.

Maybe the idea is to help with any language barrier -- the server spoke fluent English, while often the sushi chefs do not -- but we found him way too attentive. We sat at the bar so we could interact with the sushi chefs. We did talk with a chef, but his advice wasn't very specific. So...despite plenty of suggestions from the server, and some advice from the chef, and a long time perusing and discussing the extensive menu, we still weren't sure what to order. We finally went with a combo and were disappointed to see it served in a boat! That just seemed like a gimmicky, touristy thing, we would have preferred a plate. The fish actually was very good, and so were the salads. A shrimp nigiri was the only misstep, as the shrimp was overcooked. I guess I would return to this place -- hopefully on that server's day off! And make sure my order is not coming on a little boat. And skip the shrimp.
