I've been here many times and it is a great place for AYCE Korean BBQ. I'm surprised that I haven't given them a Yelp review yet. Very friendly staff and they are very accommodating to your needs if this is your 1st time having Korean BBQ. In fact, one of the guys here taught me several combinations of meat/kimchi mixes that tasted awesome. Be aware that all of the tables have the tabletop grills (this is the BBQ part, lol) and they can give off some smoke/splashes if you keep the meat on too long or pour sauce, water, etc. and be sure to have the grill changed before starting a "new round" of meats to cook. Yes, it's a CYOF (cook your own food) type of dining experience so don't expect to see a menu and place an order here. I suggest that you should probably have a basic level of cooking experience so you don't feel intimidated here. My husband and I had our special Korean BBQ place in Norwalk, CA. That was 5-6 years ago and we suddenly had a craving for it today. Thanks to Yelp I found this location and we went to try it out. Man am I glad we did! It seemed small and kind of hidden so we had our doubts. The man who helped us, guessing the owner or manager he was older maybe in his 50s, was very polite. We took our 3 year old and he made her special chopsticks using rubber bands and a piece of paper. She was so happy to eat like her mom and dad, she was able to use them and eat well she didn't struggle. He was on point with the drinks and even taught us great ways to cook the meats and what sauces to use. The food was good, to me the best was the teriyaki chicken. Amazing service and everything tastes great. There are plenty of options even at lunch (14.99) which ends at 3:30. The staff is great and very accommodating! Our waters were never empty for too long and our grills got changed frequently. We came like half an hour before the lunch special ended and we were reassured that we would have plenty of time to eat and be comfortable. This is my first Korean barbecue buffet, but I know it's the best without comparison. Every other buffet I've been to has been above $20 and I barely try those ones because I know I won't even eat that much to make it worthwhile. This place, though, makes it hard to quit eating after one helping. Even after two helpings, I found myself hungry for more. The amount of different meats, sides, and sauces was superb. All the food was well marinated and seasoned to perfection; they probably don't even need the sauces. But the sauces were equally delicious. Try them all. What makes it even better is the service. Never have I ever--even in sit-down and order restaurants--been served with such attention. A couple of employees visited my table multiple times to keep our grill fresh and check on how we're doing. Putting in all factors such as relative distance to any other place and in terms of quality, this place is one if not the best in the entire area. if you include places in Riverside however, the price does become steep (not so much) but the quality skyrockets. Mother's Day 2019. This establishment isn't brand new. They're well aware of what kind of crowd they'll expect on holidays/non holidays/made up holidays/weekends. There was a line outside waiting for them to open at 11:30am. Once the doors were open, screw the line. People were coming out of nowhere and started cutting left and right and pushing their way to inside. Groups of people were seating themselves. Mind you, there is a sign at the front that states "Please Wait to be Seated" or something to that effect. There was no seating host/hostess there. I took it upon myself to point out a booth to my family. One, to get my elderly parents off their feet and two, to avoid the crowd pushing to get in. I was not about get trampled on by the hangry mob. I was hangry too, but still. I'm going to make THIS part of my review as short as possible: Lady comes over, raises voice asking me who gave us permission to sit there, we need to wait to be seated, blah blah blah. That's fine but a) you weren't up there regulating. b) are you gonna put the other customers on blast for seating themselves? No, of course you aren't! It's a great thing I don't blush. I was really embarrassed because others were just staring. Yes, that was rude and one of the reasons I won't be back. Ok, back to my review.... Cleanliness: this place opened at 11:30. There were tables still filthy from (I am assuming..) the night before. There was an employee still mopping the floor. Poor guy just dragging the yellow mop bucket and trying to hurry and get out of everyone's way. I saw several customers walking by and they were telling each other, "Be careful! The floor is wet and sticky." I watched the same lady who put me on blast squat down by the main display where there are foods kept on ice. She started to drain some murky colored water from whatever that was holding it and then used paper towels to sop up the murky water on the floor. Before you think I'm picking on her, I watched two other employees go to same spot and pick up the towels and just throw fresh, unused towels on the floor. Probably should have put a caution cone in front of that spot to avoid slip and falls and potential lawsuits? I mean, it's for everyone's protection. Food: As stated above, it's not your first rodeo, Koreana. Why were you having trouble keeping the plates filled? My family and I were there about an hour or so. The mussels were filled once. The short ribs tray was filled twice. I get that it takes awhile to prepare the mussels. I get that you as an establishment can't technically stop that one man who filled his plate up with the uncooked meat. Trust me, I get all that. Yet, there were customers hanging around three different areas, all waiting on the same foods to be refilled. Traffic jam, anyone? I myself asked two employees if and when they were bringing out more mussels. If you've never been here to Koreana, here's a breakdown. You help yourselves to uncooked meats, throw it on the grill that's smack dab on the middle of your table. Cook it to the consistency you like. Bam! Done! There are also prepared foods to enjoy while you cook the heck out of your beef brisket, beef bulgogi, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, short ribs. Prepared foods include noodles, fried rice, gyoza, tempura, etc. There's also some prepared foods on ice such as California rolls, salads, jell-o. There's a section with steamed rice, soup, and some of the best ice-milk I've ever had. You can choose between strawberry syrup or chocolate syrup for your ice milk topping. There are little styrofoam cups with plastic spoons near the ice milk dispenser. Pro tip: use the said styrofoam cups, fill it with your milky, white, tasty ice milk and get the heck outta there! To finish out my review: grills weren't changed out enough. Beverage refills only happened once, and it occurred close to the time we were paying and leaving. I'm actually sad that this experience sucked so bad, as this is one of my parents' favourite spots. This is a hit or miss. Eat here at your own risk. It's not the Koreana from back in the day. I felt bad choosing this spot and ruining my mom's and my Mother's Day. The End read more

We were given a table well situated for the baby carrier. I'm korean and I have been living in the riverside area for a while. Kbbq is one of the most popular meals in korea and has grown a lot in California. Living in Riverside there's not much kbbq joints and this one has the best options, price and service is excellent. Usually in a kbbq everything is served for you, but here it's all self serve like a buffet. There is a variety of banchans, rolls, and meats to get. The price here is 13.99 from 11 till late afternoon. If you go in the dinner time, it's much more expensive but they offer seafood and different meats only for dinner. Our server was really nice, she offered to change the grill for us and gave us water when we needed it. All the staff were very nice and assisted everything if we needed something. read more
