Good 3/5 Portions were decent, brisket was a bit too lean for my liking and too tough. Beef belly was great! Not a big fan of their corn cheese, it had some peppers on it and was a bit weird. Everything else was fine, decent kbbq spot. We also tried the thai tea bowl which was too milky. Service 5/5 They were very quick and on top of the service. We were a party of 5 and so we had asked for a lot but they did an amazing job with service. Our server was very kind and frequently checked on us. Terrible experience. Didn't serve us and kept serving people after they sat me and my group (it was me and one other person in my party so not a big group). 4 stars for service. They are friendly and the food comes out quickly. I don't like that management forces the servers to ask for reviews. The food is very hit or miss. The meat quality is definitely not as high as other AYCE restaurants, and to keep that service fast, they are pre prepping the meat so that the servers can bring it to guests quickly. The issue is that the meat itself was highly oxidized and greying. The marinated meats did not taste good, or Korean, at all. This area doesn't really have much options, but i still would rather drive into LA/OC counties for my KBBQ fix. If you're craving authentic street tacos, Taco Bell isn't going to satisfy you right? This is my go to Korean bbq spot in Riverside. The meat selection is pretty good and you're able to choose from 3 different menu options. The place is pretty clean and most of the time the service is pretty quick. I would say the later it gets in the day the more packed it gets. read more

Located in Riverside Plaza on De Anza Ave (right behind El Torito near Merrill Ave), with plenty of parking. We met some friends here on Saturday at 12:30 PM and were seated immediately. We love the interactive grilling experience while catching up with buddies! Note that the entire table must agree on the same menu tier. Our party of four chose the lowest tier, the "Prince" ($30.99/person), which completely covered everything we wanted. For drinks, we ordered beer pitchers and the Wang Cho Flight (a fun flight of 6 shots). The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and well-organized with a full-sized bar and clean restrooms. While I wasn't a fan of the service in the past, today was absolutely excellent. Shout out to Rob, who was incredibly attentive and helpful with the menu. The friendly floor staff also did an amazing job constantly swapping out our grills to keep them clean. We stayed for a couple of hours and noticed a huge crowd waiting to be seated as we left. I came for a work function, and I wasn't impressed. It's not as good as other KBBQ places I've been to, with less variety and poorly made banchan. See pictures attached. Kimchi and the rice paper were both dry and very obviously not fresh, the vegetables were just sad, and the tofu soup has some mystery meat thrown in. No clue what it is, not described on their menu, and the server couldn't tell me what it was either. Just a really bizarre experience overall. read more

My experience at Wang Chao Korean BBQ was very disappointing. We waited about an hour just to get seated, which was already frustrating. While waiting we also noticed flies getting onto the spicy sauce and brisket sauce. The sauces didn't have lids or covers, and when an employee noticed a fly, instead of replacing or covering the sauce, they simply scared the fly away with their hand. Seeing flies land directly on food sauces and then watching the situation be handled that way was extremely concerning from a cleanliness and food-safety standpoint. For the price you pay, I expected much better service and sanitation. Unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression, and I would not recommend this place based on my experience. read more

I'm grateful to have a Korean BBQ spot in Riverside. I just found out about Wang Cho and was happy to give them a try. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated very quickly. Almost no wait around 1pm. I was also pleased with the price point. AYCE ranges from $30, $35, and $40 with more premium meats and goods available at the higher price. I went with the $30 "Prince" menu. The food was good. Not amazing, but good. Meat was sliced very thin. I liked the marinated boneless beef that my server recommended the best. She was spot on and very attentive. The only reason for a little lower rating was the ventilation. My table was good, but as I walked to the restroom and when leaving I was bombarded with smoke from several tables. After just a quick pass through my hair and clothes smell like BBQ smoke and my senses were overwhelmed. As I said, my seat was fine, I didn't have any problems while I was eating. Decent kbbq spot in the IE and Riverside area. The brisket here was not that good and was really thin and not that tasty, but the pork belly was my favorite. The bulgogi and beef belly were also decent. They do not have many sides I love, but at least they had rice paper. The corn cheese was okay, though I have had better. The service is efficient and they always check on you for a grill change. I have noticed that the grills here are not great and the meat gets stuck and burnt very easily. We also did not get a booth, so I am not sure how the circular grills work. Our grill had to be changed every so often. The place gets pretty packed and there can be a wait on weekends. It is clean inside and very spacious with two sections in the restaurant. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. read more

The ambiance, music, and overall vibe were great, and service was quick despite how busy it was. Have been here twice and love this place. I feel that they have a great selection of meats and the tier prices that they have for their meats are reasonable. They are very attentive always and I feel like while there's 1 main server there's always several around if you need help. When you walk in, it's a little crowded. But nonetheless, we got sat right away. We enjoyed the California steak, the best and the short ribs. I understand why the whole party has to order from the same choice but kind of annoying. The service was good. One guy in particular was a lot friendlier than the other. What I don't like is that the side dishes are not like other original Korean places for example the corn and cheese is really just corn and cheese. We've eaten at a lot of AYCE KBBQ places in the Bay Area, but since moving to SoCal, we've been selective. Happy to say, we were very pleased with our choice tonight. We walked up to a very large crowd out front and a line for the tablet to add yourself to the queue. We received a text our table was ready within 10min of adding our name. Our server, Jesse, was on it and very attentive. The second we sat down, we had our order taken and very shortly after, our food brought out. I requested a large family style portion of rice, being a couple that eats a lot of it. While they didn't offer that, Jesse was able to ensure our rice bowls never stayed empty for long. Andy came in not far behind with bottles of sauce refills, that peaked my interest as someone who enjoys extra flavor. Troy was exceptional as well and constantly there to keep the area clean and offer support. My daughter and daughter-in-law loooove Kbbq and this is their new favorite spot. I can see why - everything was delicious. It's so close to their house which is dangerously convenient haha We arrived around 5:30 which was the perfect time. We were immediately seated, drink orders taken. Fernando was our waiter- he was excellent - came over soon after to take our first round of meats and sides. I guess my only "complaint" was I wish there was more banchan offered. But I had my fill! And it was all good. I know meat is the star of the show and I did have some but I'm a sides girl and I was happy here. My favorites were when I put garlic shrimp and the kimchi and tofu from the spicy tofu soup on my bowl of rice. What a delicious bite! I also ate my beef with the radish wraps and that was a lovely savory sweet vinegary bite as well. The steamed egg with their super spicy chile was also yummy. I can't wait to come back here! They are always busy when we go (weekends). I saw a review that said managers are pushing for reviews but let me say not once have any of the employees asked me to do a review. Really disappointing service from our waiter, Jesse. Our drinks stayed empty the whole time, until after about the 5th time we asked for refills. We asked for more sauces about 5 times as well and it was never brought, to the point where we had to go and get it ourselves. He was constantly catering to the people and families around us, so for some reason it felt almost personal. He'd walk by our table, never checking on us until we'd grab his attention, and even then it was not friendly at all.
