As a Riverside native, it was really nice to finally try Koreana Grill, a place that's been around for a little over 30 years that I've driven past countless times. My wife and I just had our first Korean BBQ experience, and we loved it. Everything is self-serve, which actually made the experience even better. Cooking the food together at the table made dinner feel more interactive and fun instead of just sitting there waiting for food to arrive. Our favorites were definitely the Spicy Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, and the kimchi. The meats had amazing flavor and cooked up perfectly on the grill, and the kimchi had that perfect spicy tang that paired really well with everything. What we didn't expect was how intimate the whole experience felt. Since you're cooking and sharing the food together, it naturally made my wife and I talk more and enjoy each other's company instead of just sitting there with our faces buried in our phones waiting for food to come out. It really turned dinner into quality time. Another great surprise was the price -- less than $80 out the door for the two of us, which felt like a great value for such a fun and memorable experience. If you've never tried Korean BBQ before, this is a great place to start. We'll definitely be back.

This is the go-to spot for my friend and I when we meet up for lunch and a catch up. Seating is plentiful, with booths for all. A server will come take your drink order, then you're off! No waiting to place your order and no restrictions - just go help yourself! The AYCE buffet centrally located, being easy to get to from all sides. One section is filled with of a variety of meats and cuts: pork, beef, chicken. You can choose regular or spicy marinaded meats. Another main section holds a salad bar, vegetables, noodles, fruit, and sauces. I love stocking up on kimchi, fish cakes, daikon, and sprouted soy beans! Fried selections such as tempura offerings and pot stickers are also centrally located. Soups and rice are on the side. Moving among and between tables creates an easy flow. The food is always fresh and tastes of good quality. Pans and trays are rotated quickly, so there's little to no waiting to fill up on favorites. One thing I greatly appreciate about Koreana is the air flow. It never smells oily or smoky. The servers change out the grills often. I don't feel like I have to come home and wash my hair after eating here! Also, the spaces in between dishes are clean. Spills, drips, and overflow are cleaned up quickly. Customers can tell they care about a clean and crisp presentation. Lunch has plentiful offerings, and dinner has even more, broader offerings. I've been both times, with lunch being more walk-in while dinner dining can get busy! Reasonably priced, delicious food. It's why we keep coming back!

giving it a four simply because of the poor service we received the second visit, however, I recommend reading this review entirely. The first time we came to eat here, it was a recommendation from a family member. So with great curiosity we found the place where you'd least expect it, with a line out of the door. So immediately was very promising. We signed our names in and waited. We were called back within a reasonable amount of time. Enjoyed the great variety they had to offer. And left super excited to come back for more. A week goes buy and as KBBQ lovers, we can't stop thinking about it and go back. We put our names down and were given a dirty look from the host. She skipped our name 3 times calling other people back who signed in after us. (A party of 2) and when we finally said something, there was a line of people who I guess had also been skipped. She finally sat us. Took our drink order and never came back with our drinks. We enjoyed our meal nonetheless. But the second time was nowhere near as busy as the first time so it was unexpected.

FAVORITE spot! This is my favorite KBBQ spot ever. I will take the drive from the Coachella valley just to eat here. The service is always great, love all the kpop playing from all generations, and I love the vibe. I like that it's self serve for your meats and sides. It really allows me to make sure you don't waste food. Other kbbq places give you a lot of sides which causes a lot of food waste. Here, it's easy to know what sides you like and how much to get. I love the fish cakes and kimchi here. All the meats are tasty. It's always clean and never felt dirty.

Ever heard of AYCE kbbq with buffet style banchans? I haven't but I was very intrigued that they have that! Service is good, place is cleaned frequently, owners are friendly and staff check up on you for grill change without needing to ask. Came for weekday lunch at 2pm (ends at 3:30pm) and price was $23.99 - so worth it! I was lucky and didnt have to wait longer than 5 mins to be seated but surprisingly it was very full and people were still coming in and adding themselves to the wait list. There are a few meat items that have to be ordered with the staff but it's still unlimited. The other meat selection such as bulgolgi, chicken teriyaki, spicy pork, etc are all out at the self serve area. They even have fried rice, rice paper, fried potstickers, california roll and ice cream soft serve available. I enjoyed the experience and their concept of banchan. Looking forward to come back next time I'm in the area

    Miguel G.

Amazing experience! The all-you-can-eat meats were perfectly marinated, tender, and great quality, but the real star for me was the banchan. Everything is made in-house and you can tell--the cabbage and radish kimchi were fresh and crunchy, the pickled radish had a perfect tangy-sweet flavor, and the cucumber salad was super refreshing. The service was just as good as the food. The waitresses were all so friendly, gave us great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Delicious food + warm service = my new go-to spot for Korean BBQ. Can't wait to come back!

One of our goto spots in Riverside for KBBQ. This location is AYCE BBQ place. They have all kinds of side dishes including California Rolls. The meat is very flavorful. The service is decent. This place is generally busy but well worth the wait. They have quite of few tables and can accommodate large groups.

THE OG OMG! This place is so good, I feel like I go so often some of the lady's there already know me. I love it, the price is great and the sides are amazing and the meat is good too. Their LA galbi is literally the best.

    Victor D.

I had all you can eat kbbq. Lots of good meat selections. The staff swapped out the grill top frequently. The spicy tofu soup was really hot.

The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

Kimchi was not fermented enough and was a pale orange color, fishcake was not offered without you asking, there were no cucumbers, scallion pancake, seasoned bean sprouts, potatoes, or noodles. Don't want to be sweating while you're eating. Coming from highland/redlands, I am happy that there is a ayce kbbq spot in close proximity. Starting with cons: the parking is absolutely terrible. Parking spots are cramped and there's simple not enough spaces, especially during peak times. Pros: now as a long time ayce bbq lover, I understand that red castle quality is not top tier and I don't expect it to be when I go. I view red castle as an affordable joint to get my brisket and beef belly fix, which are the only two items that I basically get. It's odd reading about others experience with service, because every time I go, the service is always fast. I don't need to ask for the grill change because they are fully staffed and consistently checking in. Sure, the hospitality could improve a little but realize what you're going in there for. To stuff ya face! If you're coming here and comparing this place to other kbbq joints, you'll surely be let down. But to enjoy ayce protein for ~25 bucks without having to clean and prep a solid meal, many would realize the true gem that is Red Castle. I remember when their ayce was 13-15 bucks when they opened. Those were the days. I'm also glad that they allow single dining during the week. Not something that I'm able to take advantage of most of the time bc of work but I'm glad it's offered. To all the kbbq snobs (I'm one of them still). Go pay 40 for ayce somewhere else and be happy. Red castle is my go to for a quick fix that is close to home and affordable.

The flavor of the meats and sides is still really good, they definitely know how to season their food. The problem this time around was the meat itself. I do think the added $4 for a scoop of gochujang-looking paste was a bit egregious to make my broth spicy though. The brisket was also on the tougher side compared to KBBQ, possibly due to thicker cuts of meat. Overall, I liked the Mokkoji experience and pricing was fairly reasonable. I enjoyed my shabu shabu experience at Mokkoji. They offer a wide variety of broth from the…read moreclassically understated chicken broth to a deep umami spicy miso. I opted for sukiyaki, which was really flavorful and had that perfect balance of salty sweetness. I ordered the marinated brisket. The regular size is definitely enough, come here on an empty stomach. I split some drunken chicken wings with my table, which were the star of the show. So crispy, and the sweet marinade with the fried garlic was to die for. We drizzled the remaining marinade in the pan over our rice/meat once we were done digging into the wings. Each dish comes with ponzu sauce and sesame sauce, I love. I ended up spilling some on my light pink clothes, which I was devastated about. Definitely dress accordingly if you come here. The service was okay, they were good about clearing out our dishes once we had finished putting in our veggies/meat but the broth ran low a few times and the fire ran out for my friends' burner ovens so this had to be raised twice to the servers. Overall ambiance is a little worn down, I noted that the AC system wires were out and paint was peeling on the table. The exterior also is shuttered off, giving it a mildly unfriendly look. The price is reasonable and not too extravagant for shabu shabu, but I would definitely keep that in mind if you're someone who prefers a more elevated experience. I also noted that they'll be opening a new location in North San Jose/Milpitas soon, so I'm excited for them to continue expanding near my hometown.
