I came here for brunch on a snowy winter day so there were only a handful of other patrons. It's a…read morecute little cafe with maybe 10 tables, plus bar seating. To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Just as their tagline goes, this is undoubtedly a great place to get burgers, beer and grub. It's a…read moresomewhat small place with a great array of options, especially for lunch and brunch. Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

The Mac is cheesy and cooked exactly how I want it to taste. It sticks together and is never burnt on top. But I have tried the potato salad (a hit for sure), collard greens (seasoned to perfection), and the sweet potato fries (which I don't like, because I don't really care for a sweet potato fry. But they are steak cut and glazed with a sweet yet light glaze). As for the meats: I've had the fried catfish, catfish bites, beef ribs, fried chicken breast, baked chicken breast, fried chicken wings (BBQ & Jerk), and the salmon, crabcakes, and the ultimate feast. Oh and I've had their chicken strips. By far my favorite and frequently ordered are the catfish bites and chicken strips. Just know that this restaurant used to be a sit down intimate spot with a catering hall a few doors down. But since CoVid, it has become solely takeout and delivery by the apps. So, you won't get a full dining experience and will have to pay for a certain kind of packaging. For instance, if you don't want your food to touch or leak into other food the. Order separate packages and they will do it. This place has iced tea and lemonade that are divine. The customer service not be the absolute best if you walk in. Because they are always busy and inundated with orders which is a good sign. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cornbread! My Lawd. It's thick and delicious.

The shrimp were a little too salty. But they were good. The part that irked me was that they gave me the shrimps in a container that was closed and you know with fried foods you should leave a steam hole so that the food doesn't get soggy. Rookie mistake they didn't do that, so my fried shrimps were soggy. I also ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas. It came with cabbage & plantains. They put a decent amount of gravy over the rice without me asking so I'll give them a plus for that. But the rice itself was hard. I'm not sure if they didn't cook the rice long enough or if they gave me the bottom of the pot, but it was fairly hard. The sauce that went over the rice and the chicken was good. The cabbage was also good. I think l would try my luck again and order something else from this place and keep my fingers crossed for something delightful.

I gave this place a chance because I like waffles. I ordered…read morea cheese waffle burger with cheddar cheese and asked for my burger medium well. I asked what the burger included and I was told lettuce and tomato. When I got home to eat, my burger had no lettuce and tomato, American cheese instead of cheddar cheese and my burger was dry and burnt. I thought I was getting a fresh made burger, but instead got a frozen patty that was overcooked and not seasoned. Not to mention that the waffle itself, had an overwhelming amount of peppers and had no taste. I didn't even enjoy the waffle alone! My husband ordered oxtails with rice and a side of macaroni. I was very skeptical when I walked in and saw the prepared food because it all looked so dry. The macaroni and cheese taste like kraft Mac and cheese from the box with spiral noodles. If you make mac n cheese, at least use macaroni noodles. The top of the macaroni and cheese was so so dry. I do not recommend this place at all! I called to complain and all I got was a sorry and next time you order, we can fix it. I told them there will be no next time.
