Not only was the curry chicken the driest I've ever had. I also ordered brown stew chicken only to discover a top of some sort mixed in my food (in above picture). When I called to let them know what I discovered they nonchalantly said "a lid must've fallen in."They are not what they used to be both taste and hygiene wise. Eat here at your own risk!

We came by the other day and the place looked dead- drink fridge was empty, no rice and pea and the oxtail looked tiny and pitiful. What an end to an era. Guys, we're moving on to Fish n Ting now.

I ordered oxtails with rice and peas. Richie isn't the same since the expansion, lol. They used to be top-tier years ago when they first opened up, but slowly have fallen off. The food portions were good, I'll give them that. I definitely asked them to pile a lot on and they did. The oxtail was good and had a decent amount, I enjoyed it for the most part. The food however was very oily and it left me with crazy heartburn the next day. I can't say it was the BEST I've had from there, it was DECENT. It's been way better. Y'all owe me a pepto-bismal next visit.

The wrong food. Does this look like brown stew fish to you?? This is brown stew chicken and NOT what I ordered.

Ordered the brown stew snapper at an almost whopping $25. These inept people had the nerve to send me the much cheaper brown stew chicken and when I called, the excuse was, "I didn't see it (the order) good." What do you mean? That was a very sorry response. No one wants brown stew chicken. If we did, that's what would have been ordered. And the very nonchalant attitude sucks for something they did wrong. Thank goodness for reviews.

I used to love coming here the food was amazing and it was always served in an orderly fashion. Last time my boyfriend ordered from here it took 30 mins for two plates one was oxtails and one of curry chicken. By the time he drove home (35min) drive and opened the order there was no oxtails. He called them went back down to the Bronx got the oxtails and instead of apologizing they acted like it was his fault. How you order a LARGE oxtails and there's no oxtails? Also there oxtails the flavor was off. Idk what's going on but we were so disappointed

Their food is always delicious!! Especially their oxtails and curry chicken with rice and peas. I also love that they are open 24hrs. The only problem is the workers always have a nasty attitude and there is no parking other then street parking which can get very busy especially if you double park.

The Oxtail Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas

The Oxtail with rice & peas is immaculate ! Highly recommend it. First time going i stopped by early got the oxtail freshly made. Rice tasted great & cabbage too. The server gives generous portions i got a medium plate for $18 Worth every dollar !

Came here to feed a craving for Ackee & Saltfish. Arrived around 11:30 and breakfast was still being served. I got the Ackee & Slatfish with green banana and a side of dumplings (4). I ordered the food in a medium and it's safe to say it could be shared between two people, so the $12 charge is totally worth it for the portion given. The food was fresh & well seasoned, but it was dumplings I couldn't get enough of! They were nothing short of AMAZING. Crisp & fried golden brown. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them. I will most certainly return and will recommend the restaurant to others. P.S. Don't be turned away based on the looks of the place they are graded A and from the looks of it are clean. I won't deny the place could use a little sprucing up and it'll definitely do justice to the food that is served.

So much space left over in the plate.

Rice & Peas & Tings is located toward the rear of the Bronx Terminal Market food court. I wound up here early on a Sunday morning and decided to give them a try. After the warm greeting, I asked if it was too early for stew chicken and was told 'Course not'. I was given a hearty serving of food, with EXTRA GRAVY like I requested. I could have fallen in love right there. I grabbed one of the many available tables, near the Christmas tree, so I could look wistfully out, onto...the highway. While the plate was plentiful, the chicken I received was small boney pieces. If you look, you can see the chicken back in my picture. This is not exactly a complaint (bones are for chewing), but I would have liked to have more actual meat. The chicken itself was also slightly sweeter than my preference, but still very good. Honestly they had me at the extra gravy and could probably do no wrong. The rice and veg were both well cooked and I have no complaints on either. I will definitely return and try different things from the menu (looking at you oxtail).

Saw a large sign boasting, Rice & Peas & Tings, so I strolled over. Behind the counter was this cordial young gentleman who I had a lengthy conversation with. In a part of our conversation he informed me that they recently opened in the Terminal in 2024 and they are eagerly looking forward to sharing their food with the masses. For the undecided, samples are offered to help in any decision making. I didn't accept his offer of samplings, but what better way to entice someone. If you're looking for 'authentic Jamaican food like your Mama and Grandma used to make...', as they quote, stop by Rice & Peas & Tings.

So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

I remember when Fish N' Ting first opened several years ago and I'm pleased to know that this family run establishment is still kicking. I would put it in my top five list for Jamaican restaurants in the city. The menu is wide and varying and accommodating of different diets. If you love jerk chicken, you need to try it here! The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!

Ordered: Malt (~$4)…read moreMango Juice (~$5) Chicken Suya (~$15) Street Waakye (~$25): rice & beans served with gari, spaghetti, tomato stew and black sauce (shito); fried fish and goat stew Jollof Queen (~$25): spicy, well-seasoned tomato stew rice served with salad, sweet plantains, and chicken Aya's take: I'm a big fan of African cuisine and this was my first time at a sit-down Ghanian restaurant! They have a DJ so if you're looking to vibe while enjoying Ghanian food, this could be the spot. It was my first time trying Malt and the best way I can describe it is it tastes like molasses, slightly bitter, slightly yeasty but very mild overall. We started off with the Chicken Suya which was a bit dry and chewy but the suya seasoning made all the difference. It tastes like a blend of chili powder, ginger, garlic, onion powder, paprika, etc. It was a fine starter but definitely skippable. For entrees, we got the Street Waakye and Jollof Queen. I've had waakye (pronounced waa-che) before but this was pretty dry. The spaghetti was light and I actually liked that they used thinner noodles rather than the regular spaghetti. This dish comes with fried fish which was light, flaky, and moist. The real winner was the goat stew. I'm salivating just thinking about it! You get the essence of tomato, the tenderness and slight gamey flavor from the goat, and the thick and luscious sauce that was an explosion of flavors. I even dipped the boiled egg into the sauce which was unbelievably satisfying. The jollof rice from the Jollof Queen was cooked way better than the waakye. It was moist, well-seasoned, and didn't really need anything added to be good. I loved the sweet plantains and the chicken was also well-prepared. Considering how much jollof rice there was and that it was ~$25, they could've given more than 2 pieces of chicken. Overall, it was a pretty good meal! When the bill came, I saw there was an automatic 18% gratuity added which is totally fine considering we were a party of 7. However, they then pointed out that this wasn't tip and was a fee for "the table". I eat out a lot and never in my life have I heard of this. We ended up adding another 10% on top of that. They also charge a 3% credit card fee. I don't agree with them trying to squeeze out more money from customers who are already coming and spending money; this is definitely not the norm anywhere else I've been.
