    Spicy yellowtail handroll!
    Nicole H.

Absolutely delicious. I'm a huge sushi fan, and this place is literally "as good as it gets." I was in town for a conference on stumbled upon Maki Boy on the way to the airport. It's in a strip mall, which I've decided is the best place to find killer ethnic food. My servers were incredibly friendly (they even poured me a free coconut/pineapple smoothie as I rolled my luggage with me out the door!), the secluded booths feel cozy and private, and the food... huge portions for a cheap price. I had a yellowtail handroll (gorgeous and delicious) followed by the unagi (eel) bowl, which was filled with eel, crab, and other goodness. The Korean side dish bar is also a blast. I was so stuffed after this meal that they probably should have weighed me when I got on the plane. I would be a daily visitor here if I lived in Dallas. Keep up the great work Maki Boy!

I came in for lunch on a Friday not knowing what to expect. I saw a picture of their eel donburi bowl on Yelp and I knew I had to get it! I like that they offer a bar with sides. Theres broccoli, sprouts, ginger and etc...they might have different sides from time to time. Lets talk about the unagi donburi bowl. If you like teriyaki eel sushi roll then you will like this bowl. It is an eel roll deconstructed and you get so much more than a roll. Theres teriyaki eel, seasoned rice with imitation crab meat and avocado. It was yummy and only $11, don't have to break the bank for lunch

a plate of sushi and a cup of coffee

I would say 0 stars if possible unfortunately, I was super attracted to this restaurant because I was craving sushi while visiting Texas and this place had great views for some reason. 1 the food is horrible the sushi is large and falling apart you can barely even call it sushi, I asked for eel sauce and was given something that looked and tasted like barbecue sauce. 2. The service is the worst I've ever experienced in my life, all the "servers" are rude high school looking girls who just stare at you and get annoyed when you ask for something. I paid and left about 30 mins from walking in because the experience was so bad

Chef Special Bento Box! Gotta try more things haha

Amazing is simply an understatement here. Maki Boy is always a great option for lunch or dinner. Fast service, sweet server, affordability, and a welcoming cute lil' ambiance to boot. One of the best aspects of any Maki Boy establishment is their complimentary pickled vegetables bar, banchan-style. You got kimchi, radishes, bean sprouts, seasoned broccoli (my fav), cucumbers (2nd fav), and more to choose from. I usually end up getting the Chef's Special Bento Box if I can't make up my mind. It always amazes me how it consistently fills me up and is such a great value for your $8.50 (before tax). They change it up sometimes, but usually, there's a filet fish, some cheesy baked seafood side, a handful of sushi pieces, salad (sometimes), white rice, and shrimp tempura. It comes with a medium fountain drink too. Another good option to order is the tonkatsu (pork cutlet) which can also be subbed with chicken or fish. The crispiness is always awesome, and portion size again is HUGE. I'm looking forward to trying the unagi donburi (eel rice bowl) and some sushi rolls later on. Something I LOVE getting here is the unagi donburi (eel rice bowl), which has a delicately baked buttery-amazingness eel seasoned with this delicious teriyaki-like eel sauce. The rice bowl comes with slices of avocado, crab meat, crispy panko pieces, nori and tobiko. Just divine. Worth the $13 for sure, treat yo' self! The servers used to give us complimentary smoothies after each meal, though they've stopped that a while back. They each taste delish, though. Recently, I came back in JUST for the smoothie; specifically, you can mix 3 fruits but I had mango + strawberry which was yum. The bf had mixed blueberry + mango + strawberry and that was better than I thought. They both hit the spot if you're craving something cold and fruity. The server even recommended the triple berry yogurt smoothie, if you dig that Asian yogurt at those supermarkets. I'm def going to have to try that one day. Anyway, one more aspect I loved about this new location is the seating. There's a long row of individual booths to separate you and your guests from the rest of the restaurant. It's quite cozy and private. Perfect casual date spot, and then some.

This location is larger than the Irving restaurant. The food is equally delicious. The menus are slightly different, but you are sure to find something yummy. I love the private, high-walled booths with a call button for service. My jobche was good. It came with rice, which was not necessary, but I do not complain about leftovers. My hubby's udon with shrimp tempura was perfect slurpy rainy day food. Our appetizer sushi was fresh. I really enjoyed the complimentary pickled veggie bar. I visited it twice! They even gave us tiny complimentary smoothies! Waitstaff is very friendly. So happy to have found this spot!

Ever since returning from Japan, I have been craving a big bowl of udon. So glad Maki Boy opened close to our home! Upon entering, I was greeted immediately. The employee was super sweet and personable! Unfortunately, they did not have sushi at noon :( I had planned on getting the bowl of udon and some sushi, but oh well. Maybe next time. The restaurant inside has the feel of restaurants in Japan, complete with neon signs, clocks with plastic sushi for numbers, and the famous Maneki Neko on signs and statues. Loved it! Another employee (owner?) came out of the kitchen and chatted with me for a while. I really liked the "family" vibe of Maki Boy. I ordered my udon and headed to the little free appetizer bar (see photo.) Yummy, yummy kimchi, bean sprouts, spicy broccoli and pickled cucumbers. So good! The udon arrived to the table quickly and smelled wonderful! I like my udon with a little kick, so I grabbed the jar of Togarashi and heavily sprinkled it into the bowl. Yumm! If you ask if it was as good as Japan's udon, it wasn't. But it was a close second! It was hot, comforting, and the udon noodles had a nice texture. It gave me the "udon fix" that I needed! I finished the meal with some pickled ginger- I could eat that by the bowl-full. Great meal for $8 and super nice staff. I am looking forward to trying some of their other menu items, like the Ahi tower and sashimi. Thanks, Maki Boy, for making my first visit with you a nice experience!

I love how Maki boy opened at this location. I had to go to the one in Irving, but now it's so much closer! I love everything on the menu. You can't go wrong with any of the rolls. My favorites are the eel roll, shrimp tempura roll, and sashmi salad.

Alright. So my sister has never eaten sushi before, so I decided to take her here since it had nice reviews on yelp and I am new to the DFW area. We were the only people there (about 3pm on a Friday). When we walked in the waitress/hostess greeted and sat us down right away in one of their private booths. I told her this was my sister's first sushi experience. The waitress took her time and explained the different varieties of sushi they had to offer and gave my sister a recommendation for someone new to sushi. She even walked us over to their free sides bar, which had pickled cucumbers, ginger, broccoli, kimchi and others. We got our food relatively fast and our waitress checked up on us periodically to ensure our meal was great. The sushi was fantastic (a miss for my sister, but hey i got to eat hers so whatever). My sister ordered a variety sashimi platter and I ordered the Florida Roll. Both were amazing and I do plan on returning for some more sushi.

    Cool seating for sushi!

Spicy tuna was just ok. - Sushi Burrito: $7.99: fried california rolls with a teriyaki glaze? I guess I should have read the description better. I've never had a fried burrito, so what showed up threw me off. Very salty. - Beef teriyaki and shrimp/vegtable tempura, with potstickers $16.99: Served with 4 shrimp! Also served on a plastic to go tray, which is weird, but maybe this reduces waste if most people end up with leftovers? It is a lot of food! Beef was a small portion but good flavor. I definitely ordered too much food for one person, but I wanted to try a few different things. Overall, the tempura was my favorite, but you can get that at a lot of places. The Spicy Tuna Tower was prettier than it tasted. Unfortunately, my standards are higher, coming from the Bay Area. Everything was just really salty and I ended up drinking a lot of water. On the bright side, the ambiance is nice and the service was excellent.

As a former fan of "all you can eat" buffets, I noticed as I've gotten older, I'm no longer a fan of "all ya can eat", but hangin' out with da fellas is fun. What can I say about Japan House? 1. The restaurant had an extensive sushi menu for all you can eat. 2. Exceptional service! Our waitress was very attentive, she kept checking up on us and placed our food orders quickly. After placing the food order, the food came out quickly. 3. This restaurant was one of the first restaurants that used an electronic robot. The robot machine brought out the simple items, and I even saw the robot sing "Happy Birthday" to a restaurant patron. 4. The restaurant is casual, and pretty dark inside. 5. The sushi quality is about "middle of the road", not the best, but far from bad. What do you expect for all you can eat? Check out my pics..... I continue to be impressed by the service and the food. And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.
