Great food! I love the knishes! They remind me of what my grandmother used to get in Brooklyn.

What can I say? I absolutely love the Kosher Bite. The brisket sandwich was juicy with nice soft rye bread and perfectly spicy mustard. And you should know, every sandwich comes with a pickle and your choice of salad. It's on their sign, but I didn't see it, so it was a nice surprise when I ordered. I also never had a potato knish before, and now it's all I can think about it. So delicately flavored and perfectly cooked. The bread was flakey and so soft you could cut it with just a fork. My wife had a nice kosher hot dog. Hebrew National. Very good brand. She's a little picky, but she said it was cooked just right. She shared a bite with me and I agree. If this place was closer to us, we'd be regulars at least twice a week. But for right now, it's just a treat every so often. But if you want a genuine Jewish deli sandwich, you should treat yourself too. read more

The corned beef sandwich was every bit what I expected. Don't you hate it when you have a craving for something and the food is not what you expected and it's really disappointing? Well this wasn't one of those times. I am very particular on how thin pastrami and corned beef is sliced. I haven't had the pastrami yet but the corned beef was sliced perfectly thin and tasted amazing. I'm at home writing this review and I'm getting a craving for another one. I might have to go back tonight. The potato salad was great. Tasted like they make it there home made. The portion was a decent size but if there is a complaint, I wish the portions were larger, only because it is so good. read more

this is my favorite kosher style deli in all of Orange County. The Gene sandwich is by far my favorite sandwich. It is so big and over stuffed with corn beef with coleslaw on top with Russian dressing. It is like being back in New York. Don't waste your time or money. Went there today . It had to be 8o degrees inside. I bought sliced pastrami to make sandwiches at home, which had great flavor but was so fatty. The loaf of seeded sliced rye bread was previously frozen - so not fresh at all. The deli coleslaw was not at all your typical deli tasting coleslaw. So delighted to have found this small deli. Crazy hours and closes at 2 PM. Closed on Saturdays. Had the sliced pastrami (requested not too lean as in the pics - the meat looked a little dry). And it was great - I was shocked and so happy. Good pickles and potato salad. Took home some sliced beef tongue and it was xln't. Bagel was good, just not freshest. This place is mediocre at best, and it's sad because it should be better. I renewed my driver's license at the DMV not too long ago and I had lunch here. I thought it was a peaceful area, granted it has an obvious Jewish community because it's a deli place. I was just there to have lunch, and this was around noon. I ordered a sandwich with a pickle, the pickle was tasty. The sandwich had bitter bread, but I guess that's how people like it here. I ordered a few things to go, and that was my lunch here. The decorations were, old I guess, with cobwebs and the place could be cleaner. I'm a senior citizens myself, but I felt out of place. The lady was nice, but it could have been cleaner because it's a place to eat. I bought some chips, took my drink and sandwich home with me. I had no idea they closed so early. I guess the shelf life of the sandwich didn't last long, it changed color when I got home. Maybe it needed to be refrigerated but it went bad by the time I got to my place. Love this hidden little gem! My family and I have tried various menu items and they've all met our expectations. Highly recommend the bagels & lox, turkey sandwich, veggie plate and challah! There's also some pantry staples, candles and ice cream you can get while there. The prices are fair and the workers/owner are very sweet and friendly. When we entered the Kosher bite, the restaurant was so dark you can barely see who works there. All the lights were off for some reason. Also I've included a picture of my matzo ball soup. Where to start? In a nutshell, this is home. From the moment I walked in the first time while waiting for my wife at the dmv, all of those familiar smells harkened back to my childhood. Fond memories of the Bashful Bagel, Kaplan's and other now defunct eateries come flooding back within second's of entering the inviting blue door. Even if one is not Jewish, one will enjoy Orange County's best corn beef or pastrami sandwich bar none. In fact, I would rate Mary Anne's sandwich a very close second to one particular place in LA. The matzo ball soup is outstanding, almost as good as Nani's ;)! For breakfast, the eggs,lox, and onions served with a toasted everything or onion bagel has NO equal!!! Sorry to Nani up high but your e,l,o has been crushed! The crispy wad of onions on top of the perfectly cooked eggs ...my God I could eat this for dinner. It is that good. Luckily, the Kosher Bite is walking distance to our place. Anybody who knocks the place for the no frills decor is a fool. Way too good! I have been in multiple times. I finally realized it's worth paying the extra dollar to get the lean corned beef and get double meat. Oh my God! Not sure if it could get any better. Awesome deli. Came down to the area to visit my sister in Irvine, and we were craving pastrami. If you're looking for no frills, authentic food, this is the place! Prices are great, and the sandwich was packed with lean meat. I didn't even order the lean upgrade! Was so good, had to try the cornbeef sandwich as well. Not sure I can choose a favorite. We also ordered the potato latkes, whitefish sandwich, chopped liver, lox bagel, and matzo ball soup. You could say we had a feast. All the accompanying sides were great as well, but my favorite was the potato salad. Wish I lived closer, but since I don't, I ordered 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 lb of roast beef to-go. Can't wait to try. Love that there's the option to order meat separately. The service and staff were also so friendly, and we learned that the deli has maintained the same cook for about 30 years?! Food and service was superb here! Tried the following: Corn Beef, Pastrami, Whitefish, Bagel - Cream Cheese - Lox, Latkes, and Matzo Ball Soup. Everything was made to order and fresh. All the sandwiches had the best bread accompanied with healthy servings of Beef/Pastrami! The lox on the bagel was SO GOOD. Latkes were crispy and loved the touch of applesauce on the side. I checked out this place, it's the same spot that time forgot, but I'll give them credit for not being a 1 star shop. Customer service is fine, but the food was mediocre at best. I'm aware that I'm not young anymore, and I'd be glad to be as elderly and happy as the customers go here, but the place is dirty. I know this place has been run the same way it's been since it opened, but why have lawn furniture and dusty old decorations? It doesn't feel welcoming here, you have signs that make eating here sound like you're bothering people. I don't know the history here but it's a quiet location, it just needs some cleaning and better food. This place isn't for me, and the potato salad was awful. read more

I've been waiting a long time for the opportunity to eat at KD. For me was hard to find while walking but found it. Very, very primitive inside with small round Formica tables and cheap, outdoor Honey Boo Style, but I have to say comfortable chairs. Ok Tom, so get over it already. You came for the food, not the decor. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich on rye, Cole slaw and matzoh ball soup. No complaints about anything other than they were served on styrofoam with cheap plastic plates and bowls. I'm a visual guy. Put it on a real plate and it immediately looks more appealing. Soup was wonderful. Four stars as opposed to bengies five stars. The ball itself was cloud like, as opposed to the cannon fodder balls I make at home. Broth was unremarkable. Meh. Sandwich: not nearly as full as Benjies, but very soft rye bread. Just delicious. The meat itself was sliced a little thicker than The Hat, but way more flavor. It was soft, flavorful high quality! Cole Slaw: Quite simply the best I've ever had. Just creamy enough, sweet enough and sliced very thin. I now live on the area and it's an easy drive here, so I will be back!! The ones I make are hard little nuggets but no problem because I roll them in perfectly round balls, then spray paint them and use them as billiard balls. The ones here are heavenly. The other soups on offer sound delightful but I can't not order my regular soup. A half pastrami sandwich did the job of completing my lunch. Amazing quality.
