A generous 3-star mostly for the servers who think its okay to yell (yes, yell) at older customers to ..."get out of their way because they have things to do...". What?! No joke - and more than one was flipping a seriously bad attitude about being busy. ...that attitude will fix the busy problem - quickly! The owner is a dear lady and it is very sad to see her own employees disrespect her and her customers like that. I don't know the story but she would never think of saying or behaving the way her servers did. About the food - well, it's okay and it will fill the plate but not much stood out there. Oh wait - the ham was pretty great. Not sure I will be back other than to see the owner and have a cup of coffee... and will be sure to stay "out of the way" of the boss mares. read more

This great restaurant is a staple of ours! Betty and the crew serve up three meals per day, and ALL of it is awesome-especially their PIES! They have live music on Fridays, and cater parties, weddings, and so on, with adorable Western enamelware dishes, and the decor. (I would imagine they can use different dishes for other decor-I just remember the fun Western ones!) But just have a meal there, and you will be hooked. Good old fashioned home-cooking, at fair prices. My favorite is the roast beef with cheese French dip with their hot chips, and a slice of pie to go. (No room in the "tank" after that lunch!) My wife and I visited Kountry Korner for breakfast. Make no mistake, this is really good diner food. HOWEVER, we left the establishment deciding that we really didn't feel safe in the restaurant. The reason? On entry, you are faced with a sign that ridicules the pandemic problem we are all facing and casts doubt on the requirement that masks be worn when not at your table. Sure enough, on entry almost no one was wearing a mask other than the servers (I feel bad for them). So, a business that puts politics ahead of the well-being of its customers.....well, we have a problem with that. Once all this mess is finally past us, we'll make a trip back. I came in with some friends. Our waitress Maya has waited on us before. She's funny and always takes care of us. She was pouring my friend coffee when another waitress began yelling at her about a water pitcher. It was very jarring and not needed. Maya was literally in mid pour when the the yelling began. Three of us just had dinner here and I am a bit bummed. I ordered the Dr Pepper brisket special and was very excited about it until I started eating it.The flavor was delicious and the meat was tender. Problem was about 3/4 of tge meat was jiggly, gross, fat. I left hungry. My mom and daughter had meatloaf and chicken fried steak which they liked a lot. The bill was 50 bucks which would have been fine if I got meat to go with my flavor (they charged me for the brisket despite my pointing out the huge pile of fat). Frequented by locals and catering to locals Kountry Korner is favorably priced (As opposed to cafes like Nova that have raised their prices to soak Bozeman visitors. $3 coffee!!). Kountry Korner offers down the middle breakfast selections. Nothing fancy but each offering cooked to perfection. My girlfriend and I came in tonight. We seen that this place was busy every night so we wanted to give it a try. We were greeted before we made it fully through the doors. Our service was great, and made us feel like we were back home in Oklahoma. Our waitress recommended the Big Betty steak, which we are usually reluctant to get steak at a restaurant. TOURISTS BEWARE: unfriendly, discourteous staff wouldn't seat us even though there were PLENTY of empty tables. The lady behind the counter pointed to a round table for four and rudely said "you can try sitting here, it's the only thing we have available" to our party of six. Another thing that really bothered me was the racist and unwelcoming undertone. We're Hispanic, the place was full of white people. Do the math. Considering the place is extremely close to an airport, we figured they would be more receptive to diverse customers, but we were sorely wrong. The attitude of the wait staff makes this place a 1 star. I have been several times and sometimes the seating is seat yourself and other times, it's reservation only. You never know which. If it's open seating, they won't let you scoot tables together for larger parties and they are very rude about it. If it's reservation only, they are rude if you don't have a reservation. The food isn't that good to be that rude. They consistently let large parties walk out instead of helping seat them. I won't be back. read more

For dessert, fresh homemade mixed berry pie (warmed up with ice cream) for me and coconut cream pie for hubby. Home cooked, old school, completely non-trendy food. An all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch at an excellent value. Coffee for $1. Big slices of homemade pie at a price too low to print. Most of all, a place held together by the old-school passion and work ethic of its longstanding local owner. 4 of us ate here last night. We all had the broasted chicken dinner which was some of the best chicken we have had. The soup was unbelievable! It was a creamy tomato with chunks of fresh tomato and was soooo flavorful. We to some to go. One is got a piece of homemade cherry pie and it was very very good. We have been traveling in our RV's for over two months across the country and this is one of the best meals we have had at a home cook type cafe. We will be going back this trip for sure! read more

This place is a great authentic Montana restaurant. We stop here usually after skis and hikes in the area. They have the best coconut cream pie, which is a great reward after a big day of hiking or skiing. The service is also great. read more

what a great little diner. straightforward, all-american feel and attitude. the mature woman who attended our table was everything to match. she never spilled a drop of coffee and all the regulars were happy. i really enjoyed eyeing all of the beautiful homemade pies in the old-style display as i seriously chowed down on my plate of hash browns covered with green pepper, onion, ham, cheese, sour cream, and white gravy. yup. that happened. the man had biscuits and gravy with a pancake on the side. biscuits and pancake were both soft and delightful. only straight complaints we have are that the gravy didn't have sausage bits/chunks floating around and the hash browns could have been cooked longer. honestly, the food here isn't super spectacular, but the overall experience of this place tooted my horn. shed your pretensions and go have a good old regular breakfast. read more

My first experience here was a great one but def not the reason for the 5 star rating.. my second visit here was! I must say I think this is one of the best burgers I've ever tasted mmm.
