Where to start. The decor alone is beautiful and traditional. As you arrive you are greeted by a women who seems to be the owner. She was super busy on a Saturday during dinner and she never looked like it- if that makes sense. Her attitude including her staff were so nice snd professional. My server MARIA T was so sweet and quick- she had so many tables but you could never tell!! giving excellent customer service. We started with the feta dip - spicy and creamy we really enjoyed it. One thing I would want the pita that accompanied the dip to be crispier. But that's just a personal preference. For our meals I got the salmon- my dad got the baked haddock and it was honestly so fresh and the portion sizes were huge. The last time I got take out and got eggplant dip- grape leaves and the chicken gyro and my boyfriend got the lamb gyro both were pulled high with meat and just delicious and fresh. We've been going to Kouzina for years (and to its predecessor, Brothers Kouzina (?) when it was on Rt 1 N). Never reviewed it before, but we keep returning because they're a treat, both eating in and to go. But picked up some takeout yesterday, and there were a couple of disappointments. As usual, the chicken, lamb, pilaf, hummus, and green beans were excellent. But the baklava was dry, and the grape leaves too salty to finish. And the roasted potatoes, that were always a signature dish for us, were much changed. Before they were in a lemony sauce that we loved. Now, no lemon. Rating 4 stars, because they were always 5 before this. read more

Kouzina is the best Greek food I've had not made at home! Service is friendly and quick, and the portions are generous. I had the pork gyro platter which was magnifique, and a number of starters and apps. I was in town for a work contract and went there almost every time I could! I get take out from here and the gyros are AMAZING. They put the French fries inside of the gyros and it makes it taste delicious! I've never eaten inside so I cannot speak to that end but it's really delicious. Sometimes, the gyros can be really greasy sometimes but still really delicious read more

The owner of this place and the waitstaff are so accommodating and friendly, their service is so efficient and food came out piping hot just few mins after we placed our order. First time there we got the oktapodi (octopus): it's an appetizer but the portion is nearly big enough as a main course. My husband got the the lamb gyro, the flavor is great but the lamb was a bit dry, the pork gyro was amazing, both pork and the pita were crispy on their edges, and yet the pork was still tender, good amount of tomato and finely shredded red onions, with just the right amount of tzatziki. Dessert: Galaktobouriko was good, served hot with creamy custard, flaky pastry top drenched in honey! Our waitress was attentive and refilled our water and checked on us a couple times. Second time: Because this place was so good, I've taken my friend visiting from VT there last weekend, she was so impressed how tidy, cozy this place is!!! The service and food were amazing! Stopped here for an early Sunday dinner. Was initially hesitant about stopping here, because it was in a dingy strip mall, but the restaurant was surprisingly clean and nice inside. Thought it might be crowded, because I saw so many people going in and out, but most were carrying takeout bags. Was able to get seating right away, before it got pretty crowded. Had the Souvlaki with lamb, and it was delicious. The lamb was perfectly cooked and tasty. Had it with rice pilaf, which was nicely done. In the end, I was happy that I stopped here, and found a nice gem. Will stop in again if I'm in the neighborhood! read more

One of the best food options on Roiute 1 This new site for Kouxina is bright and inviting. I was in the mood for a salad, and got a wonderful Kouzina salad with grilled salmon. The inside is really nice! That is the first part of why i feel as though this place doesnt exactly cater to the 'takeout' / grab n go crowd. The second part is because the prices are pretty frenchin' high. $22 for a gyro plate? To go? Thats a bit high. This place has the most expensive tzazitki sauce ever. They are charging $2.00 for an extra 1oz container. ( Thats $1.00 / .5oz tazeekizi for those keeping score at home ) DISGUSTINGLY OVERPRICED RATIO! The rice was pretty good! Not sure where a "service tax" comes from when getting takeout. That was a bit absurd. Not sure ill make it back to the joint ! read more

Good food. But if you get takeout, check your food before you leave. The menu clearly says that it comes with two sides plus tzatziki, but they always give me honey mustard instead. Not a big deal, but tzatziki is my fav part of the whole meal. It is not easy to turn around once you leave bc this restaurant is one route 1 (south). Best restaurant in Peabody! Every time we go there the food is terrific and the service is wonderful. I like the Greek food but my wife loves the fish. Delicious Greek restaurant! We went on a Saturday night without reservations and it was busy but we were able to wait a bit and sit at the bar. Will definitely call for a reservation next time. I had the pork Gyro with French fries on the side and a Greek salad ! The Gyro was a little over cooked and greasy but overall it was good and the fries were really good! I was so thrilled to hear Brother's Kouzina was reopening under the name Kouzina in Peabody! We tried them as soon as we could and they were as good as they were at their last location. The menu is similar. We were a large group of people and we ordered a bit of everything. The stand out was the biggest bowl of avgolemeno I've ever seen. The moussaka was delicious. The food was very timely coming out. The new restaurant is smaller than the prior location, but the decor is bright and modern....very pretty. My husband and I often ate at the owners previous restaurant on Route 1 and were so sad when it closed. Quite by accident we found the new one a few months ago and were pleased to find the food was just the same. We'd only done take-out before now, but decided to eat in for our anniversary and were so glad we did. The decor is so light and airy, the design of the bar innovative and extraordinary and the chairs super comfortable. The food is exquisite as always. I always get the Pastichio (probably not spelled right!) because it's the best I've ever had. My husband loves their gyro which is the real rotisserie one, not some sticks of mystery meat other places serve. It's a bit pricey, but, on the other hand, the portions are pretty big, great meat, and taramasalata (my love) is one of the best I have had in America. A few years ago, we would have given this place 5 stars. Alas, like so many other restaurants of late, Kouzina has done a few things all together they probably shouldn't have. They raised prices, cut down their choices (do they do their great breakfasts anymore?) cut down on portion size a bit, and the meat selections were much fattier than in the past. One small baklava desert is now $10 (server thought is was $6). A request for an additional small tzakzi (sp) dipping sauce (because there wasn't enough), was added to the bill. Our server did graciously take the baklava off. Any one of these changes would be a slight disappointment, but they wouldn't keep people from not returning...but all of them? read more
