    Gotta be 5 stars! I took my Bmw cruiser to be "repainted" since I had taken it to Mr. Gippo Paint Place And they painted the fairing the WRONG COLOR!! Anyway Mikey fixed it and it is a work of art! Thanks for taking care of this and finishing a day early! Will recommend!

I mostly wanted to stay away from San Jose because I had phone and email conversations with some of the Subaru dealers up there and that alone was enough to know not to give them my business. I kept seeing a few nice looking Subaru's online, and although the dealership was about 2 hours away decided it was worth looking at since they had the exact car we were looking for. I checked Yelp to make sure the dealership didn't have 2 stars like some did. Nope, perfect ratings. I called up and was hoping to get Bob on the phone since so many people mentioned him in their reviews and sure enough Bob answered. Little did I know that Bob and Ginger were the only two people there. Bob was so good on the phone and just exuded honesty that I knew we had to go up there and buy the car if it drove like the rest of them. I love the idea of not haggling over a price...it's all really stupid and I just wish every dealer would give you a price that you pay, not one that's inflated for no reason. We drove up and took a few test rides with Ginger. She is great and helpful as well. Then we met with Bob who helped us sort out the paperwork, actually SAVED us another 2 hour trip back up since we had pre-arranged financing from a bank, encouraged us to use our existing financing rather than what he had because we already had it. We drove out of there with the car same day and I'm still glowing about how good of an experience it was, I really am. Can't say enough about Family Motors. The cars they sell are really the ideal used cars too because Bob seems to only buy really pristine condition, late models, with low miles and their detailing on them makes them look brand new. If family motors has a car that you know you want or you're just interested in used Subaru's or Saabs you really deserve to buy a car from someone who has tact and is friendly. We ended up saying goodbye after discussing non-profits and volunteering with Bob...that's not a typical used car buying experience to be sure.

I was referred to Family Motors by my trusted mechanics at Embarcadero Automotive in SF, because they didn't have what I was looking for, and couldn't get one at that point. I'd recently been in a bad accident with my trusty 10 year old Saab 9-5 wagon, was in a lot of pain, and wasn't interested in dickering around, exploring other options, or even thinking about trying to get used to a completely new make of car - I just wanted another one of the same thing with no hassle. I didn't see any reason to argue with the engineering excellence that had just saved my life. You don't always get to just pick the used car you want off a tree, though, which is part of why I've never bought one. As others have said, the whole experience was a complete pleasure. I called Bob when I saw a car that interested me on his website, and a few short hours later, after going up for a test drive, it was mine. I absolutely could not believe I'd found a 4 year old car with only 21,500 miles that was still in factory warranty, and obviously in absolutely cherry condition, with a clean Carfax, etc. - or a used car dealer who was actually a really nice guy who genuinely wanted to be sure I got the right car and wasn't the slightest bit pushy, especially on my very first experience with this sort of purchase. It actually turned out that Bob and I have some mutual friends, too, so that was fun. But I felt totally taken care of, and he even knocked an extra $600 off the price without my even asking. I still can't believe that I scored such a good car, and practically brand new, for such a low price, and that the whole experience was so easy. It's also obvious that he takes great care of clients, because the place is tucked away in a field, invisible from the street, so you'd have to know it's there and be looking hard to even find it. There's no way he can be getting the walk-in business that your average car dealer gets, so you know it *has* to be all word of mouth. Which indeed it is. Driving in is a bit of a surreal experience, because it's like you're going to someone's private farm, turning down a dirt road, going along the fence of a field - and then suddenly the vista opens up, not to fields full of growing things, but to a field of shiny, spotlessly clean, mint condition Saabs and Subarus. This is, indeed, what buying a new car ought to be like. If Bob's still carrying Saabs when I'm ready for my next one (and indeed if they're still even being built), I'll go right back up to him and get the next one there, too. BTW, if Bob doesn't have what you're looking for in stock, he'll go out and search one down for you, still with the same requirements of being low mileage, cherry lease returns.

    I had a somewhat negative experience working with an advisor at this location, and the experience…read moremade me wary of Cartelligent overall. It seems like it can be good in the right circumstance, but it's worth being a bit careful about it. A friend highly recommended the advisor, saying that they'd saved her a lot of money on her car lease and made the process easy for her. I called and talked for over an hour to the advisor. They were knowledgable and friendly - great customer service. I figured that I may be able to save a little money by looking for a deal myself, but that I wanted to save the time and hassle, so the cost would be worth it. Also, I liked the idea that Cartelligent had access to better deals than I would by purchasing at volume from fleet managers. My plan was to lightly get offer prices myself, compare them to the price Cartelligent got, and then hopefully having validated that they were beating my price sufficiently, I could use them forever and rest assured that it was a worthwhile deal. I reached out to a few dealerships and got opening offers. I was shocked when my Cartelligent advisor came back with an initial price that was worse than three of the five dealerships I'd reached out to, and that was before their $600 fee. When I explained this, they responded a little defensively and asked for proof I had better deals. When I provided it, they came back the next day with an offer $50 a month cheaper than the one they first sent me - a cost difference of $1,800 over the course of the lease! Thank goodness I'd looked on my own and not taken their word for it. The experience shook my faith a bit, so I decided to negotiate with the other dealerships myself and compare. Once I got a bit further into the process, I gave Cartelligent the ability to win my business if they could get to a specific number by dropping their quote a little further. They were unable to do so, so I kept negotiations up elsewhere. Specifically, when I asked if they could get to that number, the whole email they wrote back was "That's awesome. That's a great deal" and that was the last I ever heard from them. With a little bit of work, I ultimately was able to secure a lower price than Cartelligent had before taking their $600 fee into account. Using Cartelligent would have cost me many hundreds of dollars more than negotiating on my own over the course of my lease. At the same time, I was trying to sell my car through them. I did their thorough online process, taking pictures and filling out the form. After it was clear I was going to negotiate a bit and not just take their first price, I stopped hearing about the sale process from the advisor. After the "That's awesome" email, I never heard back from them again, even after asking for updates on the sales process over email. They ultimately never gave me a quote on my car. I think they got mad at me and ghosted me, which I found surprising and unprofessional. It's possible I was able to get an unusually good deal because the EV market is weak right now. The second quote - the one $50 lower - was reasonable, and it did take me a little work to beat it. However, it was clear to me that you should always do your own due diligence and get quotes to check the ones they give you. If you do that, ultimately, you aren't really saving yourself that much work, so I'm not sure the $600 fee is worth it. Edit: David reached out, and we talked about my experience. He sounded as surprised as I was by my experience, and he's looking into it. I was impressed that he would follow up!

We had never purchased a car remotely before, so we were a little apprehensive, but from start to finish, the process was seamless, transparent, and incredibly professional. The car was exactly as described online -- actually, even better in person. Every detail was accurately represented, from the body condition to the interior and mechanical performance. It's clear Donn truly understands and respects classic automobiles. The care, knowledge, and passion he has for these cars really shows. Communication was outstanding throughout the entire transaction. Every question we had was answered promptly and thoroughly, and he made sure we felt completely comfortable before moving forward. Donn was never pushy and we never felt rushed thru any part of the process. We originally looked at some shipping options on our own but ended up relying on Donn's recommendation, which turned out to be the right decision. Shipping ended up being as smooth as the purchase process and the pick-up and delivery was quicker than I had expected (they actually delivered it a day early due to my conflict) and it was in pristine condition. With me being in Texas, Donn coordinated the entire pick-up process and was an incredible advocate for us. It is extremely rare nowadays to find someone with Donn's friendliness, attention to detail, personal integrity and his desire to exceed his customer's expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Left Coast Classics again, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality classic car and an honest, stress-free buying experience. Since we were in Sonoma, CA on Valentine's Day weekend without any plans, Donn even suggested a local restaurant on the square, which provided the perfect backdrop for my wife and I to grab a celebratory drink and a memorable meal.
