I was told I could either get an online quote or come in for a better assessment and appropriate value, so I scheduled an appointment and drove in. When I arrived on time, I waited nearly 20 minutes. Eventually I was informed that the in-person appraisal would be very similar to the online quote, which made the visit feel unnecessary. The facility itself is clean and they have a nice selection of vehicles. However, I did have some difficulty getting assistance. I had to knock on an office door to get someone's attention before being connected with a representative. Overall, I'm sure CarMax is a good place to purchase a vehicle, but my appraisal experience could have been more efficient and better communicated.

Wow ,,, what a HORRIBLE experience…read more Went in to Carmax today to buy my daughter a car , we were greeted by a rude man in which I had to ask him hey you having a bad day buddy ? So then me and my daughter proceeded to look for the car she wants , we found it . We went into the show room asked if she could test drive the car , the gentleman ( Ken ) said yes no problem , he said he had to put us on a list and would be a short wait . Ok no problem ,, so we went and sat down ,,, 35 minutes later I went back up to the desk and asked hey do you know how much longer it will be ? Ken answers not sure , you still have the same one person in front of you ! We decided to just leave and buy the car elsewhere, Ken was friendly and professional unlike the guy who greeted us . Unfortunately carmax lost a sale and a potential customer , whats also weird is I counted 11 people in the show room standing around ( I took a photo but won't post it due to their faces being clear in the photo ) ,, on their phones doing absolutely nothing ! I actually asked what about all these people standing around , and the response I got was they are all with customers lol ,,, their was NO customers with these people , they were on their phones and chatting with each other . I was actually warned about this carmax and told their service is horrible,, guess I found out the hard way . The one star is generous , and only because Ken was helpful.

The initial research only put an additional layer of confusion on the process. I remembered Cartelligent as an option to purchase a car and the process began. Zach was on it! There was never any pressure to buy however he took the time to understand our requests and did the research to find exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The demand on the car was high however he was able to locate the vehicle and get it to us in a timely manner. No more dealerships and sales managers for us. Thank You. Tom and Robin R.

I had a somewhat negative experience working with an advisor at this location, and the experience…read moremade me wary of Cartelligent overall. It seems like it can be good in the right circumstance, but it's worth being a bit careful about it. A friend highly recommended the advisor, saying that they'd saved her a lot of money on her car lease and made the process easy for her. I called and talked for over an hour to the advisor. They were knowledgable and friendly - great customer service. I figured that I may be able to save a little money by looking for a deal myself, but that I wanted to save the time and hassle, so the cost would be worth it. Also, I liked the idea that Cartelligent had access to better deals than I would by purchasing at volume from fleet managers. My plan was to lightly get offer prices myself, compare them to the price Cartelligent got, and then hopefully having validated that they were beating my price sufficiently, I could use them forever and rest assured that it was a worthwhile deal. I reached out to a few dealerships and got opening offers. I was shocked when my Cartelligent advisor came back with an initial price that was worse than three of the five dealerships I'd reached out to, and that was before their $600 fee. When I explained this, they responded a little defensively and asked for proof I had better deals. When I provided it, they came back the next day with an offer $50 a month cheaper than the one they first sent me - a cost difference of $1,800 over the course of the lease! Thank goodness I'd looked on my own and not taken their word for it. The experience shook my faith a bit, so I decided to negotiate with the other dealerships myself and compare. Once I got a bit further into the process, I gave Cartelligent the ability to win my business if they could get to a specific number by dropping their quote a little further. They were unable to do so, so I kept negotiations up elsewhere. Specifically, when I asked if they could get to that number, the whole email they wrote back was "That's awesome. That's a great deal" and that was the last I ever heard from them. With a little bit of work, I ultimately was able to secure a lower price than Cartelligent had before taking their $600 fee into account. Using Cartelligent would have cost me many hundreds of dollars more than negotiating on my own over the course of my lease. At the same time, I was trying to sell my car through them. I did their thorough online process, taking pictures and filling out the form. After it was clear I was going to negotiate a bit and not just take their first price, I stopped hearing about the sale process from the advisor. After the "That's awesome" email, I never heard back from them again, even after asking for updates on the sales process over email. They ultimately never gave me a quote on my car. I think they got mad at me and ghosted me, which I found surprising and unprofessional. It's possible I was able to get an unusually good deal because the EV market is weak right now. The second quote - the one $50 lower - was reasonable, and it did take me a little work to beat it. However, it was clear to me that you should always do your own due diligence and get quotes to check the ones they give you. If you do that, ultimately, you aren't really saving yourself that much work, so I'm not sure the $600 fee is worth it. Edit: David reached out, and we talked about my experience. He sounded as surprised as I was by my experience, and he's looking into it. I was impressed that he would follow up!

My prior car was running fine and I didn't need a new car but wanted to see what was out there. It ended up that they didn't want to sell me the car listed on their website since it was at a sister site in Morgan Hill. They sold me on essentially the same car but with a different color that was currently being used as a loaner car for people to use when theirs was in the shop. It really felt like a classic bait and switch maneuver since the original car I was interested in was more desirable as it was listed as a private-use vehicle whereas the one they sold me on and what I ultimately purchased was a corporate fleet vehicle. They promised me that I would have the car in my possession 2 days later. I received no communication in this time when the car would be delivered until I finally spoke to a sales manager, Sylvia who promised me I would have the car on the 3rd morning. I did get car that 3rd morning and there wasn't an all weather cargo trunk liner even though I was promised it verbally. They also told me not to sign the title transfer of my trade in vehicle which felt like a red flag since this is typically standard practice with other dealerships and in my past experience. Overall, don't go in expecting anything more than your average car dealership experience. I spent 5 hours in there the first day and it still took three days to get the car. I felt that they really pressured me with all the sales tactics to purchase this car. I thought based on the reviews and that I didn't really need a new car, it would be a more pleasant experience. It was not.

We'd been shopping…read moreother Bay Area dealerships at the same time and, like most buyers, had already done quite a bit of online research. What immediately stood out about Vasser was the way our salesperson, Tyler Caruso, handled the process. We communicated mainly through text, and he gave us the information we needed without constantly calling or pushing us to come into the dealership. Several other dealers took the opposite approach. They filled voicemail with messages and texted nonstop, which we understand because their job is to sell cars. But their messages and texts were intentionally vague in response to our questions. Tyler was responsive when we had questions. But he let us move at our own pace. One thing that impressed us was that on a Friday evening, which we later learned was his day off, Tyler checked-in by text, and we ended-up putting together the framework for a deal. At no point did we feel pressured. Our purchase was a little more complicated because we planned to buy a number of accessories separately through Toyota Parts for a TRD off-road build. When Tyler learned what we were trying to do, he offered to help coordinate everything through Vasser, obtained an even better discount than the Toyota Parts promotional rate, and arranged installation at a reasonable cost. It made the process a lot easier than trying to manage it ourselves. The trade-in process was straightforward and fair. Once we finalized the numbers, we worked with Finance Manager Mariano Aguilar. He was organized, efficient, and easy to work with. The paperwork was explained clearly, and there were no surprises. While we were waiting in the lounge for the paperwork, we met another couple who'd driven from Fresno to buy their car from Vasser. They'd chosen Vasser for a lot of the same reasons. The conversation confirmed our impression that what we experienced was simply the way Vasser does business. Buying a car isn't usually an experience that people look forward to. But Vasser made the process easy. Tyler and Mariano are both professional, respectful, and good at what they do. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vasser Toyota to friends and family.

Will took the time to walk us through all the features during the test drive, and the entire process from start to finish was smooth and stress free. I highly recommend Jimmy Vasser Toyota and especially Will and Kyle for anyone looking for a professional and enjoyable buying experience.

Avoid this dealership if you value customer service…read more This review is specifically about Carlos Barrera and the Sales department. To be clear, the Service department has been excellent -- professional, reliable, and willing to step in when Sales fell short. Special thanks to Maui Oregon in Service, who worked hard to make up for Carlos's lack of follow-through. On December 27, 2024, I purchased a Jeep Renegade from Carlos. The car had several issues that were written into the contract to be repaired. Because it was dark at the time of purchase, we couldn't fully inspect the vehicle. Later, additional problems surfaced, which Carlos also promised to address. Unfortunately, he stopped responding to me altogether. It wasn't until I posted a negative review on Google/Yelp four months later -- which Corporate noticed -- that he finally reached out. The delays were extreme. It took until April for repairs to begin, and our vehicle was out of service for more than a month. While a loaner car was provided, this did not excuse the lack of communication and accountability. To make matters worse, I later learned from Service that if the vehicle had been left with them at the time of purchase, the parts would likely have arrived within a week, not four months. You'd think Sales would be aware of that, but nope. By mid-May, most of the issues were resolved, but a dent and interior discoloration were left unaddressed. Service informed me that Carlos never passed along these items, despite assuring me he would. When I followed up, he ignored emails, responded once by text on June 3 promising to "look into it," and has ignored all communication since. See screenshot. I paid for a brand-new vehicle and was promised that all flaws would be fixed. That promise was not honored. Instead, I was met with months of silence, broken commitments, and an overall lack of professionalism from Sales. Now I will have to pay for the remaining repairs out of pocket somewhere else. If you are considering Hanlees, my advice is simple: buy elsewhere. The Service team may try to help, but the Sales experience with Carlos Barrera was a disaster. Do not put yourself through the same ordeal.
