I was very excited to try this new restaurant! I found it on Instagram. The greeters at the front were sweet. My husband and I each ordered a main dish and they were both simply SALTY to say the least ! We will not be going back to dine here ever again !!!! We started with the Hoisin wings and they were absolutely delicious. Sweet with a little kick. We went with our two kids and they loved their pizza and burger. The burger was juicy and the pizza was extra cheesy. I tried the KOW Lasagna and it was delicious. Very cheesy and the bechamel sauce with some sweet plantain made it unique. I want to start by saying that the service was excellent as well as the sangria I took, but the food was very bad. I ordered a lasagna that only had a layer of pasta the rest was all melted cheese so I could not even finish it, my husband ordered a yellow rice with chicken and half of the rice was white and the protein was only two pieces of chicken. They were very friendly trying to change my plate but you know what happens when you return a plate, so I preferred to eat something of mine. As of right now, they're a solid 3.5 STARS. Rounding it up since the food has potential to be very good. I had the arroz con pollo, which comes with the fried chicken chunks that were an issue altogether, but we'll get to them. The arroz con pollo has a mayonnaise drizzle in too, and it's not disclosed on the menu, which would be ok if you like mayo, but I HATE MAYO, so it kinda ruined the dish. About the chicken chunks, they're overly fried. Maybe lighten up on the batter? My son had the chicken alfredo pasta, which had the chicken chunks, again, overly fried. The pasta had a lot of butter, which can be a turn off if you're not into butter like my wife. But the dish was good. And last, my wife had the pork belly ramen. No complaints there. Oh, almost left dessert out. We tried the chocolate vanilla puffs and the chocolate cake, and both were good. Also, the frozen limeades and strawberry drinks were really good. When I arrived to pick up order, I had to wait, but the staff was so apologetic and professional they rapidly diffused my frustration. And I am glad I waited. The food was incredibly delicious. This place is really nice. They put a lot of effort in it, atmosphere is chill, good music and big variety of food. I was here with my boyfriend and we have ordered pork gyoza and tequepops as appetizers. Both were delicious. I have ordered parmigiana chicken(which comes with salad and side of your choice) and my bf ordered lasagna. My chicken was lacking flavor, but lasagna was delicious. We also got two glasses of sangria, which was big and good, and a chocolate cake dessert which was perfect. The place is really clean, the toilet smells nice and overall, my grade is 4+. What a lovely hidden gem. I never knew this was here until I went by the Starbucks and got curious to what this was. Looked it, saw good reviews, decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, I do not regret trying this place out one bit! I will definitely be coming back and I'm recommending it to everyone. As appetizer we got the ham croquetas since they were a part of happy hour and the tequepops. My boyfriend got 2 beers, each $1!!! Again, we came during happy hour. The croquetas were amazing! I live in Miami and I've had a lot of croquetas from many different places. These are one of my absolute favorites! They were lightly crusted and packed so tightly with filling. The tequepops were another favorite, so so good! The guava sauce they came with was literally the cherry on top. I think I'm in love. As entree I had the spicy ribs from the Africa menu (sorry si don't remember the exact name) with a side of fried yucca and Caesar salad. The ribs were really yummy and the seasoning was so good if you like spicy! I really appreciate that the ribs were very juicy and not dry like in some other places. The fried yucca was delicious, I ordered it with some cilantro sauce. The Caesar salad was good, the dressing tasted a little odd to me, but it wasn't bad. I've eaten from this place 2 times. The first was inside sitting down. I like the ambiance and the waiter was nice and knew his menu well. They brought the food over pretty quick when I first went. The reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is the food is just ok. It's pretty pricey considering the food is just decent. The area where this restaurant is located theres quite a bit of competition of good food like finka or Amelia, and mr and Mrs buns (am a regular at those places). I had the hoisin wings and and wok crunchy shrimp were both decent. Nothing out of this world but they were okay. The pork belly ramen was good. A little under seasoned but not heavy on salt. The dumplings are good. Now why I am only giving it 3 stars? I had a French onion soup yesterday, and just FYI, French onion soup is my all time favorite soup. So I was glad they had it. After the first bite I was very disappointed. The onion soup is overly salted. If they are using prepackaged broth might I suggest not to buy prepackaged broth that already has sodium in it. Get broth with no salt and add salt later. This was waaaaay too salty and I like salt. I thought the ramen would have more salt because typically Asian food has a lot in it but not the case. Definitely not worth the $10 I spent. I feel like getting in the kitchen and teaching the chefs how to make a proper French onion soup. I thought I would have found a place close by that makes it but I guess I'll be going back to making it at home myself. This was a major deal breaker for me because French onion is so easy to make. I will be going back to try some of their other plates (the pricier ones) just to see how I feel about them. And will continue to review. read more
