We ordered beef offal dry noodle and chicken and mushroom covered in leaf. It wasn't the best chicken pieces but at least the flavoring is there. They serve savoring tang yuan here!!! I always crave that randomly so I'll be back to try this. It wasn't busy when we first walked in but people started trickling in as we were eating. Plenty parking in the front of the restaurant shared with other establishments in the plaza.

This review includes my experience of my two visits. A relatively new restaurant in town that specialize in Kai Ping cuisine. The place is small, simple, and cozy. The interior design if filled with creative and unique Chinese characters and food pictures. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Meat: The cauliflower is nicely cooked (soft but still crunchy). It is nicely seasoned, not salty at all. A great veggie selection. This dish was ordered on both of my visits. Beef Brisket Steamed Vermicelli: The noodle comes with a fair amount of beef briskets. The noodle is lightly seasoned with the sauce on top, there are also white pepper and siracha on the side. A different option to eat noodles. Pan-Fried Tofu with Minced Fish & Pan-Fried Pepper with Minced Fish: A must try dish! Very traditional dish. The minced fish is nicely seasoned, and a well combo with green pepper and tofu. It is not overly fried, and not very oily. Chicken Clay Pot: Love this chicken clay pot. Compared to other similar chicken pot in canto/hong Kong restaurants, this is one of my favorite. The chicken is nicely seasoned and tender. It is not salty! Definitely recommend this if you enjoy eating chickens. The onions along with it are also tasty. Steam Chicken with Mushroom: I had high hopes in this dish, but it was REALLY salty. We had trouble finishing this dish. The waitress misunderstood this dish with the steamed rice with chicken and mushrooms, so make sure to state it clearly when ordering. However, I don't recommend this dish because it was too salty. And there's no aroma from the (bamboo) leaves. The chicken is tender, just hope they can improve the flavor of this dish. Steam Rice with Chicken and Mushroom + Soup: I love this steamed rice! The chicken and mushrooms are nicely cooked and flavored, and come with a great amount. Definitely recommend on trying this. Another great chicken dish. Steam Rice with Beef & Pickled Mustard + Soup: I didn't quit enjoy this one. The beef is not tender, quit hard and chewy. The pickled mustard that they used is spicy and sour. I don't recommend on trying this one. Beef Offal Noodle Soup: The noodle comes with a nice amount of beef offal. The noodle is cooked to the perfect texture, and nicely flavored. Overall, my two experiences at KP Town were great. It's a family run restaurant, so the wait time may be longer during busy times. During our second visit, one of our order was made wrong (Steamed Chicken with mushrooms), the owner apologized and served the correct order. Due to the long wait, they gave us a free lemon tea. The service is very friendly and welcoming. I hope they can expand their menu with more options. FYI, the portion of their food can be quit small for large parties.

This unassuming place where the unfortunate golden mile bowling closed is a gem. The crystals dumplings were small and delicious and packed full of flavor. The stir fried pork offal with ginger and scallions was very tender and a large portion. The mixture of vegetables and the pork was very generous. My friend ordered the KP town bbq pork rice and soup which the soup was very homely and soothing while the pork rice itself was very flavorful. The staff was very attentive and the lemon iced tea was great! Not too sugary and they even gave us refills! Parking is easy and the place is easy to get into. The store is a tad bit cold with their AC but their decor and demeanor is very friendly!

Went in for their clay pot rice. But to my surprise, they actually serve a Guangzhou style clay pot, not necessarily Hong Kong style clay pot. It was delicious none the less and my family got their roast duck special. It was so savory with so much meat packed on it! This place does NOT skimp out on the meat!! I love their speedy service to refill my lemon teas and iced HK milk teas.

Another new open Chinese restaurant in area but glad is not another very spicy restaurant next to bowl alley. Many available parking. Owners are very friendly. Place is small but many tables and clean. Paper togo menu with many dishes that I could decide quickly. I ordered 1 appetizer, 1 main dish and 1 soup for 2 people. Foods portion is decent. Stired fry tofu with mince fish and pepper with mince fish. Little spice of white pepper. It's pretty good , but make sure to eat with sauce Pork stomach with chicken and white pepper soup. Pork stomach doesnt have any smell and soft. It's big pot that we couldn't finished. We like this soup very much. It's still good for next day but add noodles. Chicken claypot take longer to cook than I thought but worth for wait. It's have deep flavor and chicken is tender. Chicken come with bones, so watch out. Later, I noticed there not much veggies. I ordered stired fry lettuce with garlic. This is also good. After tried all dishes and overall is goods I decide order foods togo. Another pork stomach chicken soup, stream pork rib (pork is so tender and flavor just right) and clear dumplings (its kind sweet and seem like peanut mix meat, but not sure. Please ask if you allergic to nut)

Portions not as generous as some of the Asian places around. They keep running promotions on ubereat for bogo but the price really ended up paying for two of the same item. Flavor was fine.

This KP Town Cuisine is located inside a strip plaza on Valley and New Ave. in Alhambra. (next to the Bowling alley and 101 Noodle Express) It just opened about 2 months ago and its specialty is Kaiping-style food. The place is small but cozy with some cute Chinese signs in simplified Chinese. My mom and I ordered the Braised Duck Noodle Soup ($13.99) and KP Town crystal dumplings ($10.99). For the Braised Duck Noodles, we picked dry noodles instead of noodle soup and you can choose flat noodles/vermicelli/rice noodles/egg noodles. We waited for 30 minutes then our orders came. The crystal dumplings were mini dumplings and it had 18 pieces inside. It was a small dish and the fillings inside were also tiny. The fillings inside had chopped peanuts. (Make sure you are not allergic to peanuts). The taste was okay but we did not think that it was worth the price. For the Braised duck noodles, they gave a good portion of noodles and the taste was not bad but the braised ducks were chopped into so tiny and did not have much meat (maybe only a few pieces). They need to improve the service, the food portions, and quality.

The food isn't the best here, let's just get that out of the way, but it has a really nice cozy and home cook meal to it. I actually loved eating at this place, it wasn't too salty, it reminded me of my dad's cooking, but it's not salty and rich if that's what you're looking for. The soup base was bland, the chicken bowl was aromatic, and the spare ribs were a basic level of good. I love it here lol, but would I recommend it? Not sure.

Hidden Gem in Alhambra - Finally Tried It After 4 Years of Driving By!…read more I've lived in Alhambra for the last 4 years and drove past this place almost every day, always assuming it was just another hot pot spot. It never looked super busy, so I kept putting it off. Big mistake--don't let that happen to you like it did to me! We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while. If you're in Alhambra and love good food, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't go wrong here--highly recommend! 5 stars all the way.

Beef roll looked more like a giant taco but was also excellent. In the most convoluted sequence of restaurant occupancy in the annals of Chinese restaurants in the United States, Noodle King has supplanted Rice Hero/Hero's Kitchen/In Joy Lunch in Alhambra in the space formerly occupied by a different restaurant named Noodle King in the 1980s and 1990s. There's a lot to explain here. I used the compound name for the previous occupant because the name on the front entrance was Rice Hero, the back entrance said Hero's Kitchen and the digital menus said In Joy Lunch. I say the old restaurant was supplanted, not replaced, because the old restaurant sort of still hangs around, with a tiny sheet of paper with all 3 old names taped to the front door, and many old dishes still on the menu. Why the three names I don't know. In Joy Lunch had been a popup that operated during lunch hour serving Dongbei food in a space in YYDS Fried Strings in Rosemead. In Joy Lunch then struck out on their own last year with this space in Alhambra, adding the new names. The old Noodle King had been a Taiwanese noodle fixture before moving out in 2003. Since the new Noodle King also serves some of the Rice Hero/Hero's Kitchen/In Joy Lunch items, the same name seems to be just a coincidence. But despite holdover menu items the staff clearly say they're a new restaurant, with the Noodle King himself greeting you at the front entrance and the signage in both front and back now say Noodle King.
