Their new location is clean and nicely decorated. We got all the staples - soy milk sweetened and savory, yiou tio (crispy and doughy), black sesame soy milk, and the savory tofu. All were delicious. Stinky tofu was not overpowering. Stir fried rice cakes were warm and chewy, not oily. Green onion pancakes were perfect. Fan tuan yummy. The Taiwanese sausage in the fried rice was a little too done. We return every time we visit LA, and my parents still think it's the best for the soy milk and tofu. Their prices are the same as pre-pandemic, and you'll get old school Taiwanese hospitality.

This is an authentic Taiwanese breakfast restaurant where you can try many classic Taiwanese favorites all in one place. However, the service was a bit slow since there were so many people waiting and only two servers at the front. I really enjoyed the tofunao, a savory soft tofu soup that makes the perfect hot, comforting base to go with dishes like youtiao (fried dough sticks), xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and congyoubin (scallion pancake).

They are severely understaffed so I'd say just order to-go rather than dine in if you don't have the time to wait. The whole place gives out the OG smell and their service is very family style. Which is expected, very slow pace so definitely good for older people like retired granms that can sit here and wait and chit chat with each other. I was in a hurry so I had to take the food to-go and even cancel an order after waiting for 30 mins and the food is still not started to cook.

4++ small low frills cafe that seems to be family owned and operated and is one of those spots where it is frequented by lots of locals. It looks like a great place to grab a Taiwanese breakfast for a really reasonable price. I would love to come back and just have a relaxing morning here. My trip in particular was to come by and pick up a Chinese donut. I came in and asked to order to go and was helped by a very friendly person. There was a slight language barrier, but luckily I remembered the Cantonese word my mom uses for the Chinese donut, haha. (I'm Viet). I was told to grab a donut here and pair it with some congee at another specific location so that's what I did. The donut is huge and it's very cheap. That's why I would love to come back to support this place and order a proper full meal here. There's also some frozen dumplings so you can purchase to go and prepare or heat up at home. Just a really great place with my limited experience here.

One of my favorite spots to visit when I'm back home! No frills cafe, yet still nostalgic with simple decorations. There are a few tables and booths--we were able to seat a party of 8. Everything was so tasty and fresh, just the right amount of sweet and salty. My favorite things to get are the fantuan and congee with preserved century egg.

To be fair in this review, I didn't get their traditional Taiwanese breakfast items which actually looked decent. As far is items I actually ordered l, I Got the beef noodle soup. Was not flavorful, but portion was relatively generous. Wouldn't come back for this by any means. Also, got a sesame seed desert from the counter which tasted....really stale.

Drove 9 hours here was bit disappointed, food nothing like the last time I was here, We ordered #3, #7, 17,21,23 #3,salty soybean milk (鹹豆漿)seems was pre-cooked, temp. not boiling hot & the deep fried dough stick (油條)in the bowl was soggy. #21 small steam buns (小籠包)& #17 green onion cake with deep fried dough stick (蛋餅+油條)both ok. #23 leek pie(韮菜盒子)was not pan fired but deep fried. #7 ginger peanut soybean tofu (薑汁豆花)was good. Overall, not sure I will be back here again, recommendation reserved.

LOVE this place! So many choices on their menu, so far all we had was very delicious! We are vegetarians who don't eat garlic and onion, and we were surprised by how many vegetarian items they have, or if they don't, they will accommodate. Very good service by the servers here, and always have positive energy. I can see why they are so busy! You won't regret coming here!

If you could only get one thing from here, i would say the fried cruller is the way too. It's just so perfect with your porridge or soy milk. They also use it in their fwan tuan, perfect combination of texture and taste. i'd order two next time i'm back here. The beef noodles portion was good and tasted fine. Lots of parking available and located on the right side of the structure when heading in from the entrance.

Fast casual place you can either order at the counter or on the app by your table. We ordered soy milk with fried cruller. Add your own sugar for the soy milk but I didn't add any. Fried cruller was good but greasy. We really enjoyed our salty rice roll. I like it better than Yi Mei that's where we usually go to. (Sorry Yi Mei) we also ordered leek pie and pan fried egg cake. It was very delicious. Only thing that I would change for leek pie is it's not flavorful enough. But otherwise we really enjoyed our meal there. Oh and can't forget the mochi.! It was good too

10/10! Hands down the best congee I have had in ANY restaurant in the states. It was authentic and you could really taste the love and care they put into the dish. What a treat!

This restaurant been in the area for many years, I always visit when I am in San Gabriel area. Most people here speaks Mandarin however the cashier / order taker still does speak English. All the food made is so authentic and literally all are my favorite. However the most ones is the Turnip Cake with adding cake as optional & Fan Tuan which basically a rice roll with fried dough sticks, pork floss and pickled daikon. Other recommended menu that I always eat is Shao Bing aka Beef Sandwich, I guarantee you guys will not be disappointed.

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

We ordered French style beef, house special fried chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and steamed rice. First of all, the serving portions were very generous. All came in very large plates. The beef was saucy, tender and flavorful. In other restaurants, they add mushrooms to fill the plate. Here, the plate is full of just large chunks of beef. The shrimp in the honey walnut dish were large prawns. They were moist, succulent and tender. It had a rich flavor because of the mayo. The chow mein was full of chicken, shrimp, squid and octopus. It was perfectly crispy and saucy at the same time. We ate to our heart's content and ended up taking home plenty of leftovers enough for another meal. Our total bill was a little over $108 with tip. We will definitely be back. Parking is valet only and cost is $5.

After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.

Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
