First time stopping in, I generally enjoy some decent wait at supper clubs to get the full experience in and have an old fashioned or two. I wasn't prepared for this. 5 o clock on a Friday so definitely a prime time but we weren't actually seated at a table til about 745. The bar atmosphere was great and people were friendly but it eventually became a mad dash to try and get a seat at the bar so you won't have to stand for two or more hours. About an hour plus in I got a couple of seats to share at the bar and that was when I realized this was going to be an extremely long wait. The odd part was half of the dining tables were empty the whole time I was there. Maybe they were light on chefs? We ended up getting more drinks at the bar for our wait so maybe that's the goal. Overall food was good though, we all got different steaks but the cook on them was great and they were well seared. Salad bar was smaller than most local supper clubs I've seen but after waiting so long it was a welcome sight. After years of driving by this restaurant- and also after seeing the number of nominations for "Best of the Valley" I thought it was time to stop in and try this place out. Wasn't disappointed, and I don't see how anyone would be! The bar staff were prompt, the dining choices were surprisingly varied and sophisticated, and the staff were very attentive without being bothersome. This is the "real deal" supper club experience! It was a rainy, wet Tuesday night ... we decided to go to Krabbe's Supper Club, just south of Seymour. This was our first time there. It was chilly when we first arrived, but it warmed up with the help of two wonderful bartenders and, of course, a drink or two. We had come early, and the service was very good with a great waitress. It was unusual, but the four of us had seafood with two of us having perch, one having salmon, and the other having lobster. One of our requirements is that the supper club has a salad bar. Krabbe's salad bar is small and does not include soup. But we found the salad bar to be adequate. And, yes, soup is extra. The portions were above average except for the lobster, which was larger than expected. From the outside, the building looked average, but inside it was clean, modern, and pleasant. 1 out of 4 had a good meal on a Friday night. Waited over 2 hrs to get a table, arrived 7:30 pm finally sat down at 9:30 pm. Ordered the seafood platter- horrible- everything was burnt. Couldn't recognize the perch fillets. Another ordered fried chicken- burnt- ate a wing and was running off to the bathroom???? Dinners need to be checked after plating. 3 of the dinners should have never made it out of the kitchen. Salad bar was never restocked after 9:00 even thought there was customers yet to be seated. This was the first time and definitely the last time we will ever go there. I have never been that disappointed in a Supper Club as I was that night. Customer Service is to be desired and food quality needs major attention. First off, I ordered a drink that the bartender didn't know how to make, so I explained how to make it. A few moments later, another bartender (I believe it was the owner) very stern and rudely from the middle of a full bar came at me with, IF you can find that mix anywhere, I will go get it for you! We dont have it, havent had it for 9months, so if you can find it , Ill gladly make your drink. I was shocked and so embarrassed I just stood there, while the entire bar was looking at me like I asked for something out of this world. I had not idea they didnt have the mix for goodness sakes. She could have come over and said, Im sorry we dont have that mix for your drink, is there something else I can make for you? NO she totally embarrassed me!!! I should have told the folks in my group lets go, but we were still waiting for others to join us. My sister said...Well I guess she told you!!! I was mad!!! We went there for my Birthday celebration and I get treated like that!!! Next, comes the food. The steaks had not flavor, even with onions and mushrooms (extra cost)and were barley warm, the french fries and fish were lukewarm, and the fish didnt taste good and was mushy, the shrimp scampi buttery sauce was watered down so much that the shrimp was mushy also and the prime rib was burned to a crisp on one end and the other was clearly over cooked as he requested it . He had to wait another 20 mins to get another one cooked. By this time we were all done eating and he was just starting. Another waitress asked how the food was?? I said OK...she said tell me honestly, so I did. No one said anymore to us about the food quality! They didnt care, just pay your bill and be gone. Gosh, for the price you pay for food and the customer service that we received I surely will not recommend this supper club to anyone. NEVER GOING BACK and neither will any of the family. read more

This has become our favorite supper club, great menu served to your satisfaction. Service is excellent, two dining areas. Get there early, usually a line at opening time with immediate seating. Or come a little later and enjoy excellent bar with typical wait times. Highly recommend! read more

Ate here last night with friends. The food was very good. I had a tenderloin and scallops. We got to Krabbe's at 5:15 and were told the wait was one hour. After the 2nd hour passed they told us it would be soon. There were open tables but no one was being seated. 3rd hour passed and they sat us down at 9:00! The steak was delicious but the wait time was ridiculously slow. We went at a busy time, had a little bit of wait but during this time had a couple of wonderful old fashions and some great conversations with the bartenders. Wow not what I remember. The prices has shot up and the quality and quantity of the food has greatly declined. Had the ribeye special which was tasteless and 1/2 fat...2-3 times the amount of fat one would expect on a piece of steak at a nice restaurant. The seafood platter was also nothing special .I called it mediocre. The perch was super tiny fillet. The bread had a taste of white sandwich bread. Salad bar selection went way down. The only redeeming quality is the service which was hasn't declined at all. For my money I'll go elsewhere. So we went to this restaurant/supper club in Seymour tonight 2/26/16. So far, this is the longest wait I've ever had in my entire life in a restaurant. We waited for almost 2 hours to be seated. Insane! My kids are so hungry! To be fair; the people, customers, and waiters are nice but being nice is not enough in a service industry like this. They must be fast and efficient!!!! Last and definitely not the least the food is mediocre! This supper club needs to stepup. Around a month ago I went to Krabbe's Kountry Klub for the first time in over 20 years. We stopped going out to eat there because there was always such a long wait. But we thought since there's new owners that maybe things have changed. Unfortunately not. We had almost a 90 minute wait from the time we arrived until we were told our table was ready. And that was on a Monday night! I can't imagine how long we would've had to wait if it was a Friday night or Saturday night. The food we ordered was good and the salad bar even though it's somewhat small was fresh and clean. But even then I really don't think we will ever go back there again because a 90 minute wait is a long time on a weeknight. I don't know if their problem is that they're shorthanded, which is very possible now days, but we go to other supper clubs in the area and we've never had to wait that long. I always get the impression that at Krabbe's Kountry Klub they want you to wait at the bar and spend money on drinks until you get your dinner. It seemed like that 20 years ago and it still seems that way. I'd give them an A for the food but definitely, and without a question, an F for service and speed. read more

Our first visit to Krabbe's was on a Friday night an early Friday night. We thought we could beat the rush and be back home for a lazy evening. We arrived at 5:10 PM and the parking lot was nearly full. They only opened at 4:45 PM! It was standing room only at the bar but service was quick and the drinks strong a good combination. The wait for the server was less than 25 minutes and in another 15 we were seated. The salad bar was very fresh with a good selection. It passed the supper club test by having tasty liver pate. The fresh bread on the table was outstanding. Our meals arrived hot, very hot, never had a meal served so hot. I had the Bluegill and my wife the Perch. Both were cooked perfectly and had exceptional flavor. Service was great the accommodations clean and bright. We will definitely return. read more

Sat at the bar, ordered some drinks, look at a menu and told the bartender we were ready to order. Waited a goddamn hour after that for some surly hostess to take our order. Was seated about a half hour after that only to be told they were out of fresh bread, on a Friday, at 8pm. Salad bar was shit. Steak was undercooked, while my date's was overcooked, regardless of the fact we both got the same cut. Steak wasn't seasoned at all. I'll never go back here. I'm something of a supper club aficionado, and I had heard great things about Krabbe's, so I was excited to try it out recently. Unfortunately I was disappointed. We started out sitting at the bar, and the cocktails were quite tasty. We got menus right away and were ready to order after a couple of minutes. Of course we were content to sit for a spell with our drinks before ordering; we were not pleased when it took an hour for our server to come by. It wasn't excessively busy, and we saw several parties who came in after us get seated before us. Even when we told our bartender we were ready to order, he said, "She should be around pretty soon." Again, this was after we'd been sitting for an hour. When we finally were seated, our server told us they were out of fresh bread. At 8:30 on a Friday. My steak was overcooked, and my boyfriend's was undercooked. Both of them lacked seasoning. This experience was a huge disappointment. While sitting at the bar I heard the owners were on vacation in Aruba. My advice would be to go to Krabbe's when the owners are in town if you want good service. read more

In fact we came on Feb 13 2016 and was standing room only and more people piling in, expected to wait a great time and were pleased when it was only an hour.
