If the issue was something that required them to be in a different part of the car, then they recommended we wait because it would cost more for the labor of looking/disassembling/reassembling. Totally reasonable! While they were fixing the car, they noticed something with the clutch that was making it wear faster. They provided a recommendation that would improve the engagement plus allow it to last longer. Anyway, the details are just to prove that they're great to work with. They communicate really well and make sure you're comfortable and educated with your options.

You call for a day and then drop the car the night before or show up in the morning and check in. They verified the oil change and asked if I needed additional service. I asked them to take a look and let me know as I didn't think it did. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. The service was very affordable and the quality and care they put into their work is tremendous. When they called to inform me my car was ready, they validated that no other work needed to be done. But if I wanted to 30K service I could. I decided to pass and doing it next month. They didn't push the services and to call them for an appointment when ready. Lastly, the waiting room has very comfortable theater style seating and a small cafe bar. I'm going to bring all my cars here for future services. Thanks!

Picked up the car and did not get to far without it smoking. The oil cap was not put on leaving the oil to go all over the engine, exhaust pipes and drained on our driveway. We have been loyal customers here for many years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. We brought in our son's new car for a routine inspection, including an oil change and additional work. Shortly after picking up the vehicle, it began smoking. When my husband later opened the hood, oil splashed into his eye, which was extremely concerning and unsafe. He discovered the oil cap had not been replaced, causing oil to spray throughout the engine, onto the exhaust, and all over our driveway. When we contacted the shop, we were told that if the car was returned before noon, it would be inspected and we would receive a call. We never received that call. Because of this error, we were without a vehicle for two days and had to rearrange work and school schedules, including taking time off work. Ultimately, the only action taken was cleaning the oil spill and refilling the oil. There was no follow-up communication, no apology, and no offer of reimbursement or compensation for the inconvenience and disruption caused. Given our long history with this business, we are very surprised and disappointed by the lack of responsibility, communication, and customer care shown in handling this situation. This was once our go-to place, and this experience has significantly changed our confidence in their service.

I got home and found the $120 of extra stuff that was in the trunk was gone. I was taken for a ride. Now trans started to act up. Took to a better repair shop in Mundelin. They fond that Manfreds did not bolt wired back in place post trans oil change. Burned wire harness on exhaust. . Cost $500 to fix. Be afraid very afraid of this shop.

I went in for a routine check up and thought my breaks needed work. It turns out, the breaks are fine, it was a bad water pump that was making noise in the front of the engine. Rather than charging me a ton of money to fix it, Jim took the time to call my VIN number into the manufacturer and found that my vehicle is still covered under the power train warranty. He advised me to go to the dealership for the repairs where they fixed it under warranty at no charge! Jim also noticed that my tires were low on tread and had some cracking, he gave me an estimate for a new set of tires. I called around to many other places to shop for the best price (same tires) and he was hands down the best I could find. No one could even match his estimate. I am getting a set of brand new tires and my oil changed with Jim for $130 less than what the dealership wanted to charge me for the tires alone. Please, go see Jim at Sparks in Lake Zurich.
