I really don't understand why the restaurant is always full...or why I go back. Food is mediocre at best, served in baskets and styrofoam cups, and service is poor. There are plenty of good seafood options on the Eastern Shore...look for alternatives to Kravers... Responding to Zack... The fish both catfish and sutchi was very tender. Batter on the fish was light and tasty. Scallops were big, tender and juicy. Crab cake was mild to medium spicy. ( if your from Maryland you will not be happy with this crab cake). Tasty nonetheless, Hush puppies are sweet with a hint of onion, very crunchy. Try the roulmalad sauce (its similar to yum yum sauce). Cole slaw was shredded (rough cut). Slaw was tangy with a touch of sweetness. Hush puppies and slaw come with most meals. I had been craving fried fish & oysters all week. We were finally able to go out on Friday. Kravers was a natural choice, as we have always enjoyed their seafood. This time it was not to be..at least for me. My wife's Royal Reds were cooked perfectly, and very easy to peel. My snapper filet and oysters were so badly abused in the kitchen, I began to wonder if they perhaps owed the cook some money from an old horse racing bet. The fish was so dry, it got bigger the more I chewed it. I considered dipping it in my tea to moisten it, but I feared I would resemble a raccoon. The oysters were like cornmeal breaded pencil erasers. Luckily a few shells were present to remind me that they had actually come out of the water. It wasn't all negative, however. After all that hard chewing necessary to get the seafood down, I now have a more muscular and chiseled jawline. Did Kirk Douglas eat at Kravers? Anyway, there is no way a competent kitchen should have let that plate go out. read more

Near boiling it was and with huge chunks of shrimp floating in the rice. My only complaint, lots of shrimp...may have needed a touch more rice. There are a lot of great seafood places around here, but my hubby and I both grew up in the land of catfish and BBQ. Sometimes, a girl just wants an ole lake bottom feeder on her plate. Oddly enough, we haven't found a lot of good catfish around here. Catfish batter should be a little more "dirty" tasting than regular seafood batter, which I think is where most places go wrong. Kraver's has the batter perfected. No worries if you're in the mood for actual seafood; they do a bang-up job on that too. Their crab cakes are among the best I've ever had. The hushpuppies are out of a bag, but they're still good. In fact, they're so good that the hubs and I had a bet on whether or not they were made from scratch. The shrimp, crawfish and sides are delicious too. The only thing better than great food is great food, service and prices. Kraver's delivers on all three. Our waitress was extremely efficient and friendly, even though they were super busy. Three of us ate for about $45, and we each got a lot of food. We will definitely be regulars. read more

We were regulars to Kravers, but after today, we will never go back. They messed up both orders. We got no refills on soda until the very end with a manager. They took my wife's food back, but the same food returned 30 mins later, bone cold with stuff scraped off but hidden. It was such a painfully horrible dinning experience. Love this place! It is definitely the place for starving, carb-craving folks, which is my case every time I go. You will not hungry or disappointed. It is rare that I eat fried things that don't soon make me regret it, but Craver's have frying down to an art. The batters are perfect and the grease is zilch. Don't miss the cole slaw and the hushpuppies are good too (I prefer mine with a bit of a veggie texture, but these are seasoned perfectly). The service and very good and friendly, and their tea is awesome. The catfish is as good as I have had down here (I have consumed my fair share in the MS Delta). My only gripe, and it is just a hang-up I have, is that they serve Vietnamese fish. It just drives me a bit bonkers that with where we live we would ever choose to eat imported seafood. read more

My husband and I have eaten many times in Kravers, however, last night was disappointing. We were greeted at the door and the hostess quickly seated us in a back room passing many empty tables in the restaurant. I noticed 2 large tables in the back room set up for a large gathering of people but thought they will be arriving long after I have finished my dinner. I ordered the AYCE popcorn shrimp basket and my husband ordered the catfish and oysters basket. He also ordered gumbo.My shrimp were delicious but the French fries were undercooked. The gumbo was thin and watered down as if to stretch it out for more servings. The gumbo in the past at Kravers used to be thick. My husband's fish were undercooked so overall food was mediocre. The large party of people arrived and we asked to be moved to the other part of the restaurant out of the noisy party group. It seems to me that extra tables where a party is happening should be a last resort to seat people not associated with the party. Overall this eating experience was not one to remember. read more

This is my favorite seafood restaurant!! The portions are big and are cooked perfectly. The wait staff are phenomenal!! They seat you quickly, get a menu to you, get your drink order taken and then your wonderful meal is prepared. The steamed shrimp platter is so big that I brought half of it home.
