They do have some products we like there. However driving out to the store to pickup some cat food only to find them closed 15 minutes before their stated closing time is unacceptable. They did crack the door to tell me "Sorry, nothing we can do, everything is shut down." Update: I did receive a correspondence from Kriser's concerned with my dissatisfaction. I have been going to Krisers for several months now. When I first started going there my dog, Winston did not like going to pet stores for any reason at all. He would get all nervous and want to leave. When I brought him Jennifer and her staff really worked with him by giving him attention and treats and it worked he loves going to Krisers. He gets all excited to go there now. Every time I bring Winston to Krisers to get a grooming - he always comes out looking handsome and I get so many compliments. Dagmara is amazing. A totally different experience than any other groomer. My 3 year old Goldendoodle Gordy is usually very fearful at the groomer and comes home to hide for days. Dagmara takes her time and doesn't push them past their comfort zone. She has an amazing energy that your dog will pick up on. Gordy is now happy to go to the groomer which is only because of Dagmara. She also cuts them to look like a doodle which is a bonus. She and Megan work on one dog at a time which helps make the process that much easier if your dog is fearful. We shop at Kriser's because they have a great selection of hard to find food and treats for our dogs. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The grooming staff, especially Kristine, is amazing. Our Bichons can be particular about groomers, but they are always happy to see her and never nervous about getting groomed. They run to her in glee, so clearly she is treating them well. I feel very comfortable leaving them with her. I want to make special mention of Dagmara who is the groomer. She is amazing and always takes care of our "Gooby" I generally call at the last minute and she finds a way to work him in. I live about 5 minutes from here and decided to give it try after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. I went and had my puppy's first grooming and trim and she did great thanks to Kris! My puppy came out looking and smelling great and she was not nervous at all. She was very calm and looked pretty happy. I have been to other groomers in the past with my last dog and my heart would break when she came back home all scared and shivering. Definitely did NOT happen with Kris! You can just tell she loves her job and really cares for her clients (both the dogs and the doggie parents haha). I signed up for Yelp just to give a shout out to Kris and this Kriser's location. The other employee working there was also super nice and even told me about their Puppy Package with a training dvd and awesome coupons (a free small bag of puppy food and $25 off your grooming). Totally worth it for the price! I had a lovely time at Kriser's and had a great conversation with both of them about puppy training and them sharing stories about their different doggie clients. This is probably the only groomer my dog loves going to! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly genuine! They care for the overall well-being of our best friends! I've had nothing but wonderful experiences here, and I'd highly recommend them to everybody. Not only do I take my dog to get pampered here, but my dog had an accident at the dog park, and I was unable to get him into my vet that day. After calling a few places that were closer in vicinity, without any luck, I brought him over to Krisers in Kildeer to see if there was something they could do to stop the bleeding from his paw. The staff here, especially Lexi, were of exceptional service and were able to stop the bleeding and give me some recommendations for further treatment. I'm forever grateful! read more

The Staff at this location are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate about what they do. In the one year I have been a customer they have proven customer service still exists! I agree with some of the other reviewers that Kriser's has won me over as a customer compared to their competitors. Their head groomer Dagmara always makes our dog feel welcome and treats him with love and care. I used to think he wanted to visit the store because of all the sights and smells, but now I think he just wants the attention he gets from all the staff. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Poor service and bad attitude. The multiple occasions that we have visited the store with our dogs, we've felt unwelcome by staff. Our dogs watched the only other dog in the store get greeted with treats and pets. Our dogs got no greeting, hellos or treats by any of the three people that were working. I'd understand if they were busy but the store had only one other customer aside from us. I'm not sure if it is because of the breed of dog that they are being pit bulls mixes. I genuinely felt bad for my dogs. Our purpose for the visit was a nail trim. We called ahead to make sure there was someone available to do it. There was a groomer standing in the salon. When we came in the employee behind the counter was incredibly rude and told me and my husband that the groomer wasn't there. I explained we called and were told there was and it didn't matter which groomer was available. No one went to get her and she eventually walked out and was the only friendly or pleasant person we encountered in the entire store. She did wonderful and ground our dogs nails despite our dog gets very scared. Really all together disappointing. I don't care necessarily about my husband or my experience but my sweet dogs have always been greeted and treated kindly at dog stores or at least acknowledged. read more

If I could give this place 10 Stars I would. Marley is an extremely anxious dog who can at times (who am I kidding, most of the time) be difficult to groom. Tracy is amazing, thoughtful, trustworthy and frankly a miracle worker :) Tracy's patience and creativity in handling Marley's anxiety are truly above and beyond what a standard groomer's services. I love her honesty and open communication. I personally rather hear the truth if my dog is being a challenge so that we can find another solution - he is after all only a dog and you can't reason with a dog. Tracy helps set up appointments where she knows she can worth through the entire appointment, that it is a quiet day in the store and last time she even had assistance from an equally patient and talented dog trainer, Shavonne (gosh I hope I spelled your name correctly). Thank you. Thank you! Marley is always groomed beautifully and I am always amazed that you were able to get the quality work done with Marley's anxious temperament. Additionally, Jennifer is extremely helpful!! Every time we are there whether we are buying treats, food or changing Marley's entire diet - Jennifer is there and knowledgeable. I use to shop at Petco and Bentley's but Kriser's just won me over. The customer service was phenomenal! I took a chance on getting my dog groomed because I like my dog to be styled not just bathe with a blunt hair cut. I wish I could remember everyone names but the groomer and my dog bonded instantly since he first walked in. He was done in a timely manner and his hair cut didn't look rushed. The groomer made sure I was happy with his hair cut and asked me if any touch up needed to be done but honestly it was perfect. He has been getting compliments all day. I can't get over how nice and friendly everyone was even the other customers. I spent about 45 minutes talking with the cashier who took her time with me and was patient. She helped me find new dog food and how to help him adjust to new food. She gave me samples, and she really wanted to me make sure my dog would like his food and told me to bring it back until we can get right and get him back eating. I can't wait to come back and I'm sure my dog can't wait either. read more

Love this place! Its pricey (like any good food is. Dog or human.) but I can get in and out and not get lost like the other places. Ryan helped me find the food I needed and Violet picked out some treats for me (my baby is very happy now). Just so you know, I went all the way to Krisers from Milwaukee to get my 2 dogs groomed. All I asked to get was a puppy cut which is a short cut. After I stopped there and showed them a video of my dogs and how I wanted them cut (took a video previously right after their last cut). Then I also gave them the rabies documentation. The next day I get a call from them saying the company refused to cut their hair like that because they didn't feel it was right for the dogs! Now keep in mind I have been getting their hair cuts like this for 9 years in California,which is where I live. So I emailed the owner and got a call back from someone else who tried to help me get appointments somewhere else. That didn't work out since I had only that one day and time that would work. So needless to say, I wasted a whole drive up from Milwaukee to Chicago and wasted tons of time. She said she would make it up for me by giving me a dog treat! How stupid is that!!!! I wasted 1.5 hours driving and gas each way and she thinks a dog treat would make it up! They need to be more clear on their website and when taking orders for grooming all of the things they REFUSE to do! I would stay away since you never know what you are going to get when going there and just waste all your time and energy for nothing!!! read more

Let me preface this by saying that my 2 year old shepherd is 85 pounds of full fledged energy. He has no idea how large he is and he can be anxious when in a new place, which is usually accompanied by excessive whining. I called krisers to inquire about getting him a wash and blow out since he began shedding pretty badly. He allows us to brush him at home, but only to a certain extent before he turns into a pile of moosh on his back. Anyway, I made an appointment for him to see Dagmara. I warned them that he seems to be very unsure around dogs his size, I was assured they knew how to handle dogs like him. So, the day of the appointment came, I parked, got him out of the car, and approached the door. I saw Dagmara ready to take him in. She took him into the salon and began his wash. I felt confident in her. My dog is not the easiest to groom (I have to do this myself, so I know), the vet even has a little difficulty with him. I hid in my car so he couldn't see me, and watched as Dagmara washed and dried him with ease. He was behaving. I couldn't believe my eyes. He was quickly finished and I picked him up. He has never felt more soft. He was totally dry, and no hair was coming out. Dagmara was happy and liked him which is awesome because he can be pretty intimidating. I have since had him washed by Dagmara three times and I feel totally comfortable leaving my hooligan dog with her. She knows what she's doing. I can honestly say, I will never go to another groomer again. Thank you Dagmara! read more

I'm not one to go online and post reviews but i recently brought my dog to this groomer and was very upset about my last visit! my 1st visit there was great and had groomer Tracy work on my doodle.I understand that doodles have a lot of maintenance to them and they can be very costly if they were not maintained. I Loved the last time we saw tracy so i decided to use her again. I loved that krisers grooming room is so open and i thought nobody could mistreat my dog in here since they are all out in the open. I decided to bring my doodle in again as i saw his ears were starting to matte. Prior to my appointment the price they told me over the phone can vary but it wouldnt be more than $75. When my fiance brought my doodle in, the groomer had told me that he was matted and might need some shaving which i understand. I would not want my doodle to hurt from her trying to save his hair from the matte. When i got my pup back. He looked so sad and looked like he was anorexic. He was shaven that bad. That isnt really the part that pissed me off about this groomer as i understand he might have been matted all the way to the base of his hair. Thought it was odd the groomer would not look at me and would not deal with me and had the manager talk to me the whole time when the last visit i had, Tracy had no problem talking to me and telling me my pup did so goood and tell me all the guidlines i should do to keep his hair tidy. Groomer wouldnt even look at me or talk to me so it seemed like something really went wrong. My Dogs back part of his leg and butt was shaved down to the skin so his hair was not cut evenly! not only that i saw razor mark scabs in my dogs belly! I cannot believe i left my dog there! Lastly, my total was 95 instead of the worst case they told me on the phone which was $75. HORRIBLE BUSINESS update: just got off the phone with manager and was trying to tell me that its normal for dogs to get razor burns when shaved..Im sorry but i just dont think its ever okay for a dog to come out of a groomer with marks from the blade such as razor burns. read more
