Dear Mr. Brad Kriser, Hello! This review serves to present my formal recommendation and nomination for your divine employee Jermaine of Krisers River North to be the new Store Manager. I am a longtime customer of your grand operations. Having watched your empire grow magnificently whilst keenly observing the high turnover of managerial staff of River North, I know what your store needs to continue with growth and excellence. And that answer is Jermaine. Jermaine expressed grand interest in this managerial position. But I have been told, by anonymous concerned parties, that Krisers is hiring from outside of the company. This "fact" of outside hiring is insulting to both the local customers and to Jermaine. Jermaine is one of THE MAIN REASONS that my puppies passionately drag me to the shop daily. His kindness radiates. His enthusiasm shines to Pluto and back! From an operational perspective, he, by far, surpasses all prior managerial workmanship. He is strong, smart, and tireless. A salesman who cares. He represents your brand as though he is the owner himself. I observe the manner in which he interacts with dog customers, human customers, and fellow employees. This is a review solely about Rachael as a groomer, and not about Krisers' as a whole. Everyone there has been so great. I took my dog in for a groom yesterday and it's completely botched. Her ears are uneven and mismatched. There are blunt cuts made everywhere. Her booty trim wasn't completed. The former groomers (Jocelyn and another gentleman, I forget his name) were much more talented and I believe are at other Kriser locations now. I will be taking the time to visit those stores instead for grooming services rather than going back to Rachael. read more

I've been coming to this location since my dog was a puppy and he is almost 4. He's also been groomed here since he was a puppy. The people are always lovely but my last grooming experience was upsetting. I have a doodle we all know we need to brush them properly. I've maintained my doodles coat and long tail for 4 years. During my last groom, I was called and told that 'part of his tail needed to be cut shorter'. That's happened before- no big deal. And I said: Okay, but not the whole tail- right? They assured me that was not the case. I picked up my dog and they had shaved his entire beautiful tail which will take a year to grow back out. If I had been told over the phone what was actually happening, then it would be fine. I'm sad that I'm not sure if I can take him back here if they can't be honest with any adjustments to the grooming. read more

I've been coming here for a few years since it's opened and i love this Krisers location in River North. I recently took my pug to get her nails trimmed and the groomer did a wonderful job. My pug hates getting her nails trimmed and she was so good with my dog!! Also all the retail staff that I've encountered here is very kind and helpful. Thank you!! read more

Went in to get something for my dog and had to leave because there was an unleashed Mastiff (yes a Mastiff) in the store that was making me and dog very uncomfortable. I understand pet friendly but shouldn't dogs be leashed to make other dogs feel safe ? read more

They cancel regular customers grooming appts and do not offer acceptable alternatives so you are left out of luck....not recommended for grooming unless you like to have you appt cancelled read more

If I could give this ZERO stars I would! They do not know how to manage a business and take special care of animals. I took my dog to the groomers for a 10:30 AM appointment. I received a text after 3.5 hours that I needed to come pick up my dog because the groomer got sick. They had not even done any grooming at that point so my dog was sitting in a cage for 3.5 hours with no services being done. When I asked the manager for a logistical reason of why I wasn't contacted earlier he had no good response and continued to justify themselves and that they can run a good business. Never taking ownership and deflecting. If you love your animals I would not recommend this place EVER! Poor management and no care for animals. read more

I'm not one to complain - but this location needs new management. River North is not close to me, but because Kriser's generally does a good job with grooming, on more than 1 occasion I have made an appointment to take my dog in for a grooming, and on all 3 occasions, I have been cancelled on the day of because, "the groomer fell, the groomer called off, the groomer had an emergency" I would understand if this location made ANY effort to make this right or fix the root cause of the problem - the first time, I asked if they could squeeze her in with another groomer, I as told no, I asked if there were any other close locations that they can help me get into, they said, "I don't know you're going to have to call" - there was no remorse and not even an apology the first TWO times this happened. Now a 3rd time. While you want to be apologetic and say I get a free grooming, offering me one 2 weeks out is not acceptable. There is a reason why people book in advance, and while I understand an "emergency" happens once or twice... the third time it's just your lack of being able to run an effective operation. You don't deserve to be in business, and you def don't deserve to take care of my pet. I'd give 0 stars if it was possible. Completely disgusted. read more

We've gone to this Kriser's a few times now, and wow! Every time I book, they are always able to find availability (whereas other spots seem to have week or month long waits). At first I thought maybe this meant that there would be less quality, but nope! Every time I've gone, I've been so happy with Hudson's new look! Update: the groomer is who i am/was disappointed at. The rest of the staff is super sweet! They greet us with lots of smiles and know pebbles by name now. Super disappointed in this store. Since they opened we have tried to support them and stop by almost daily to buy treats and products. We took Pebbles to get groomed there yesterday and this is how she came home. When i spoke to Kristen the manager and Duke they just tried justifying the cuts on her nails. They said that it's their "policy to cut as short as possibly and it probably happened on the walk home". We live about a block away. Very disappointed on how this whole situation was treated. We used to love this place, the staff were very friendly and our pup loves them too. Now, not so much. The new staff is just rude and very unfriendly. God forbid if you ask any questions or trying to pay for the products you are buying. I strongly suggest the new management consider providing customer service training to their new staff. read more

This store was great but the staff is not friendly, they don't understand any of the products being sold, they no longer can look up an account on-line and they do not like animals. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. I gave it three chances. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This place is a gem- we do not go anywhere else for any of our pets needs after finding this place! They are wonderful, helpful & so knowledgeable. From toys, to dental treats, to food options to harnesses and leashes. They really do want to help you find the perfect product for your furfamily. We went in earlier today and they helped my little guy get a new harness! They were so patient, kind and gentle with him, even though he was a bit timid about the situation. Just seeing how he was treated today confirms the fact that this is the only pet store that we will go to. Thank you for all that you do. read more

I'm already a fan of Kriser's since my beloved groomer works at their W. Belmont location. This store is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. My elderly pup has become a super picky eater and they have so many great food choices available. The team that works there has helped me tremendously with suggestions of foods to try. I am blown away by how kind and helpful Rory, Kristen and Arisbeth are. They also often have free samples so you can try the food out at home! They have tons of great clothes, toys, gear and treats too. They offer grooming as well as a self service wash station. I highly recommend this location to anyone nearby!! read more

Never was contacted. Unfortunately I have to give their grooming 1 star. Typically we groom with Enrique and he is great. We have been grooming our dog with Kriser's since he was a puppy. We dropped our dog off to be groomed at 4 pm. The woman who was going to groom him was asking about our preferences and then stated "we close at 6". We found this very odd as we called to confirm our 4pm appointment earlier that day and the manager himself confirmed the appointment. We did not know what them closing at 6 had to do with his groom. She said she could do it and we went home. At 538 pm I get a voicemail stating we should "come pick up our dog he wasn't able to be groomed due to the groomer being late with another dog in the previous appointment ". They said they were experiencing an "issue" with the dog previous to him so the groomer said they didn't have adequate time to finish the groom before closing. So they had my dog sitting in a crate for 1.5 hours before they notified me that they could not groom him. He sat in a crate for 1.5 hours and did not get groomed at all. He is a sweet pup who does have separation anxiety. When we asked the groomer why if she knew at 4pm she could not groom him she did not give us a call to notify us. She said "I thought I could do it but I need to leave at 6 I cannot stay late today". I've never experienced anything like this at any other Kriser's location. The manager informed me that they have 1.5 hours in between grooms to prevent this problem from occurring. Very sad that something like this occurs when you trust an establishment with your pet. They offered to cover the groom if we brought him back at a later date. Most likely will not be going back after this. read more

I have stopped into this location since it opened a few months ago and always had a positive experience but my visit yesterday was amazing. My 11 year old toy poodle's (Olga) vet recommended that she switch foods. I tried feeding her one (that I didn't buy at Krisers) and Olga was just not into it. My plan was to buy the food she had been eating before and figure something else out. When I told the employees who were working what the situation was, why Olga was switching and what I liked about the old food they suggested a new food. They were knowledgeable, helpful and cared about what they were selling me. Olga can be picky and she is loving the new food. I'm really glad I went to the store and asked for advice! read more

Kriser's has THE BEST GROOMER - Doris!! She is our go to ALWAYS! We followed her from the Belmont location which is a lot closer to us. Doris works magic. We trust both our senior and our nervous rescue pup with her and only her. She does a fabulous and gorgeous job not to mention she's truly the only one whose accommodated their needs and made them both feel safe and comfortable. Love this store so much and so does Maverick! Great food selection, the people are so friendly, and Darius the groomer is awesome with Maverick. Great customer service- Mav had a bath today and on our walk later in the day he steps in GUM! Of course, it's 90 out and it's all goopy and stuck in his freshly cleaned paw, so I scurry to the store for help. They immediately jumped to help, Rory even got out a packet of mayo and gloves and started cleaning his paw! Not many places would do that and I'm so glad they are close by :) thank you! read more

We took our mini poodle to get groomed with Julie (River North location) and she was great! Our puppy felt comfortable with her right away, and she gave him a wonderful "teddy bear" cut. The store is amazing as well. Definitely recommend! read more

I had a really great experience. Haley, the groomer, was so kind to my dog and the results were evident. My dog had never been quite comfortable with grooming and tends to put up a fuss. But, and I can't stress this enough, my pup came out glowing. Haley took into account all of this and was so gentle and accommodating. I could not thank her more. My friend gets her dog groomed at this Kriser's in River North. So when I was visiting her we decided to take a walk so I could get a dog toy. The two men working were very helpful. I ended up leaving with a toy, coat and some treats. If I lived closer this would be my go to pet store. read more
