Sad to say but their house calls are more important than their regular customers. They will change your time without even confirming if that works for you. This has happened to me multiple times. I have a foster kid who has been anxiously waiting for his haircut today at 8am, I wake up to a text from the barber Kenny saying he's in his way to a house call he changed my appointment to 4:30. Like really how do you just assume that works for someone. Now I'm up looking for something last minute so I don't have to tell this kid his haircut isn't happening today. This is like the 3rd time Kenny has done this to me. Just this time the situation is bad and tomorrow is the kids first day of school at a new school. 4:30 doesn't work because he has football. My partner had gotten a dreadful haircut a few weeks ago at another barbershop, so we decided to schedule an appointment at a new place to fix it. This is the guys newest location. Currently James and Brian are here and they doing great work. I been coming to get my hair cut wit James for about 3 months now, since moving to the area. I must say, I am always satisfied, especially considering I don't go to just any barbers. It took me about a month before I decided to give em a try, even my father in law and brother in law come to these guys now. That, I believe, says a lot of the establishment and their work ethic. PLEASE KNOW: they're consistently busy and making an appointment or giving them a call beforehand will save you time and it is well worth it. I am extremely dissatisfied and upset with my last encounter with James or known as JamoKlean. I was referred to James by a good friend of mine. This review is not based on his haircut abilities, he gives quality haircuts. This review is based on the lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability. The first encounter with James went well. However as time passed, James for most of the time is always late to my haircut appointments of 15 to 20 minutes. What is more upsetting is the lack of communication and accountability. It would be different if he had communicated that he's going to be late, but he didn't. The first time I communicated this issue, he said he would communicate more going forward. This is not the case. He was late two more times to my appointment without the proper communication. He has no consideration or accountability towards the customer. My last recent encounter, I texted James I was going to be a few minutes late which ended up being 5 minutes, meanwhile James decided to be at my appointment 15 minutes more late than me. Funny thing is when I brought the problem up, first he didn't acknowledge what I was saying. Went to go say hi to his coworkers, came back to me and said it was my fault since I came late first. You would think a barber with years of experience would have better customer service. It's so upsetting when the personal brand doesn't match the customer service. As a service based industry worker myself, I know it's critical to be honest, forthcoming, and communicative with ones clients. I cannot work with someone who doesn't respect their clients time, and frankly cannot respect them as business owners. I advise someone who like great customer service to be cautious with James and even consider another barber. Really hurts the barbershop when you have barbers with low level business customer service skills. read more

So. I have been brining my preteen son here for the last few months. Yes the shop is more for older teens and you g adults. But the quality of work is stellar. We originally started at the Sylmar location. Well. This Sunday. I was lining my sons neck up. I was going his side burns and my son moved and there went his sideburn. Mind you it's about 6pm. The hours for Sunday state closes at 2pm. Hail Mary pass was thrown. I got lucky and the owner James was walking out as I was about to open the door. He at first said sorry. Closed. I briefly explained my emergency. I saw the compassion in him and he actually opened his shop and cut my sons hair. Saved my son from becoming a middle school meme. I honestly didn't expect him cater to us. Being 4 hours after closing. But James took us in and made us feel welcome. Great customer service. Professional demeanor.
