Me and two of my friends walk in the store, only customers in there, and we wait to be acknowledged or tended to. There were two or three ladies at the front and not a single person said a word to us, greeted us, asked if we needed help or if we were ready to order. Mind you there is one other car in the parking lot and one in the drive through. We waited 6-7 minutes and no one said a word to us!!! This lady at the counter was chatting it up with her best friend about some show and made eye contact with me multiple times but didn't bother saying or helping out in any way. Three or four different ladies looked at me and my group (3 young white males) and didn't bat an eye. I felt like we were disturbing them and their precious chat time with friends over the counter! This is one of the few times I've felt as if it were racism because they didn't have a problem serving the black lady in front of us! Please shut this place down these people frickin' suck. This was THE BEST Krispy Kreme experience of my life. It all started when my wife said she wanted to end the night with some donuts IF the hot sign was on. I try my best to make her world so after dinner we swing by the Krispy but there was no hot sign! Maybe they forgot to turn it on? Maybe they still have some hot ones? Let's check. We head to the drive thru but see a piece paper taped on to speaker box that said it was out of order and I needed to pull up to the window. Things were not looking promising. We get to the window and we're greeted by the sweetest lady in the world. My biggest regret of the night is that I didn't get her name. I ask if they have hit donuts. They don't. Detestation. Despair. But, they might have hot donut holes. She screams to the back "WESLEY, CAN I TAKE SOME DONUT HOLES OFF THE RACK? WHY? BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WANT HOT DONUTS". Apparently this Wesley consents and she reaches for the donut holes. They're clumped in 3's and she was very adamant that she didn't want to squish them. We're grateful for her care. Then, like out of a movie: Wesley pops out of the corner to save the day and pack the donut holes un-squished. Is this the Wesley we've heard of? Is this the one who allowed hot donut holes to be sold? Is this HIM? It is. I shout through the drive thru "Wesley, Thank You" and I meant it from the deepest recesses of my soul. But Wesley didn't know that I overheard his name called. I can only imagine he was thinking "Who is this stranger calling my name through the drive thru?" Have you ever heard of deer in headlights? Spun his head around and our eyes locked. This man was more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He realized we meant no harm. He packed the donuts. Handed them to the sweet lady and returned to back. I asked the sweet lady to let Wesley know he was the people's champ. She screamed to the back "WESLEY. Got a coffee. Took 2 sips and it was gone. Waste of money. Coffee was not good either. Whole cup was filled of just ice. Tasted like straight black coffee when it was supposed to be a caramel latte. Something has to be significantly wrong for me rate less than 3 stars, but on this occasion it raised it's ugly face. Before writing this review, I was leaning toward a solid three star rating but decided to check recent reviews to see what others were saying. Since my experience was consistent, it easily drops to just 2 stars. There's nothing wrong with the location. It also has a reasonably sized parking lot too! So no drawbacks there either. The staff that I observed all seemed to be quite nice and professional. So again, no issues there. And yes, the donuts were awesome. But seeing that these guys are equipped with a drive-thru lane put themselves in the fast food category. I went inside to get donuts. There were 4 or 5 workers that I saw and just a single customer ahead of me. Now for the life of me, I could not understand what was happening with filling the order of this other customer. A couple drive up customers were helped by other workers, but the worker serving the guy ahead me was having difficulties with this specific guy. Listening closely, he may have experiencing some "personal" issues. I waited patiently for 13 minutes...was told I'd be helped in a minute after my initial couple minutes of waiting...but that didn't happen. During my wait, 3 additional workers came in to work...they all disappeared to the back. There was no one at the drive up window. For me, I kept wondering if someone was going to come up to take my order or if the worker helping the guy ahead of me was going to ask for help. Neither happened. I think the worker could sense my frustration because she caught me checking my watch a few times. I was hoping she'd ask the other customer if she could check to see if I had a quick and easy order to fill...but nope, she didn't. So quietly I waited. Finally, another worker came and took over the difficult customer and she fill my order. This was in the morning and only one other customer came in behind me...and none at the drive up. In other words, there was no morning rush occurring. And just so it's clear, the guy in front of me didn't end up getting something like 7 dozens. His order ended up being less than a dozen. So the last few reviews I read all focused on the same thing...horrible service. That's exactly what I experienced. In my humble opinion, management here needs to take step back, crack the whip, or retrain the staff at this location. I'll definitely look for other donut options first before returning to this particular KK. read more

Went in today, Monday March 4th at 2 pm. I have never been ignored by 7 people in a shop in my life. Took 4 minutes to even be seen. Ordered 6 Kreme filled chocolate covered donuts. Hard to screw up, but he did. he was so busy eyeballing a cute girl he shoved a custard donut in the box. No eye contact with me. Not rude but seriously has no idea what customer service is. I'm aware that just having a person to show up for work is a reason to hire someone but this was quite bad treatment. reality is I will never go to this shop again, but KK doesn't care, nor does the franchisee. So thankful that their 24-hour drive-through allowed me to get my Krispy Kreme fix while exercising social distancing. Despite the line of cars in the drive-through jonesing for doughnuts, it moved rather quickly. The masked and gloved service was very friendly and all the choices were still available on a Friday at 3pm. Winning. I am always a sucker for the holiday themed doughnuts... they're so dang cute! Krispy Kreme is one of those places that almost always produces a good a donut. Whether you're looking for that classic glazed or some new combination they've come up with, they do a great job. If you happen to drive by and you see that HOT sign flashing, take my advice; do yourself a favor , turn around and go get yourself a hot glazed donut. That soft fluffy donut with the hot glaze will not disappoint. I recently went in when they were doing a few specials. They were making blueberry glazed donuts which were amazing. It was a very subtle blueberry flavor that did not over the donut at all. Another thing I was able to pick up was a nutter butter donut. It was literally a nutter butter cookie turned donut. It was kind of deceiving because it presents as a really thick donut that might have some sort of peanut butter cream inside, but it didn't. It was still worth it though! This location has a pretty small private parking lot that fills up through out the day and a drive thru line that stays busy, which can make it really congested from time to time. This location puts up birthday wishes on their sign and we scheduled one over a month in advance. They happily agreed and said it would get put up. On the day of the birthday we called and again verified it was going to be put up. Never was put up. Ok check this out on the way to the farmers market I spotted a Krispy Kreme. I totally forgot how the southern states still have functioning Krispy Kreme donut shops. Being a Chicago native the only one available in Elk Grove. So What are the chances of me spotting one on the way to get fresh fruit and veggies since I want to incorporate them more into my diet. Guess my appetite had other plans and I couldn't resist but to tell my boyfriend to pull over and get a dozen. They didn't have the maple glazed ones so I got half glazed and chocolate frosted. I pulled up the to the drive through with my friend on Veteran's day as we thought we would get some donuts and coffee. We pulled up to the speaker box and waited for 5+ minutes. After asking if anyone was there into the microphone we got a loud and annoyed response of "What do you want!" I asked for 2 free donuts for the Veterans Day deal, a "Classic Assorted Dozen", and two medium hazelnut iced lattes. The read back of our order was wrong the first time as the employee said that I had asked for hot coffees so I corrected her with the original order. No big deal. I pulled up to the window and was handed a dozen glazed donuts and I let the employee know this was not what I had ordered and she told me that I was wrong and I ordered a Dozen Original Glazed. I responded with my original order and she called over another employee. The other employee told me I was wrong and that I did not ask for a Class Assorted Dozen. I waited as they discussed this issue behind the closed window. This lasted another 3+ minutes. They came back and asked me what I wanted again. For the 4th time I repeated my order and they started preparing the dozen. I received the two single donuts from the Veterans Day deal, they were fine. I was then handed a dozen donuts that I felt the need to inspect after the first mistake. The dozen was incorrect as it was the Thanksgiving dozen and not in fact the "Classic Assorted Dozen." I told the employee this looked like the thanksgiving dozen as there was literally a donut that was decorated as a Turkey in the box. The employee looked at me and said you are wrong that is the classic assorted dozen. She then handed me our iced lattes which tasted to be just hot pot coffee poured over ice as they were luke warm and way too sweet. I was so exhausted by this point that I accepted the Thanksgiving themed donuts and left what felt more like a drive through hell than Krispy Kreme. read more
