Reviews for Dr. Egan have either one star or 5 stars. So, one of the 2 groups must be lying, and it is not difficult to figure out why people post untrue reviews. Con artists have all the incentives in the world to recruit reviewers who would lie for them. My wife had pain in her ear but Dr Egan was the only ENT doctor available to see her without having to wait. There is a reason why she has no patients while all other ENT doctors are busy. Dr. Egan took a quick look and prescribed an antibiotic with an instructions to see her again if she continued to have pain in her ear. The visit lasted less than 5 minutes. Sure enough the pain did not go away, and my wife made another appointment with Dr. Egan. She did nothing except to prescribe the same antibiotic again. After the 3rd visit, my wife finally realized that Dr. Egan is a fraud. My wife made an appointment with a "real" ENT doctor who prescribed an inexpensive generic medication and her problem was cured within days. The ENT doctor told my wife that she did not need to come back for a second visit. We then did some research into the antibiotic prescribed by Dr. Egan. We found out #1 it is only effective on treating a very "narrow range" of infection. #2 there are warnings that it should not be used for more than 2 weeks and it should be stopped immediately if the symptoms did not improve. It was not just plain incompetent but outright irresponsible for Dr. Egan to prescribe that antibiotics 3 consecutive times. We should give her the benefit of a doubt when she prescribed it for the first time, although she might have chosen it because it was the WRONG medication. There is no valid reason for her to prescribe the same medication the second and third time - knowing full well that she is endangering the well being of her patients. Of course, there is a perfect motive for Dr. Egan to prescribe that medication because she knew quite well that it would NOT cure my wife's simple health issue. She can prey on her patients by asking them to pay for multiple visits - that prescribing a dangerous and ineffective medication would ensure that she is making more money from her victims. It is common practice for ENT doctor to clean a patient's ear, and so health insurance would typically pay for those procedures. Dr. Egan did not clean my wife's ear and yet she claimed to have performed an unknown mysterious procedure in each visit. We asked for an explanation but all they did was to give us the run around. Many other patients have the same experience like us. I should add that the office is shared by several unrelated doctors. We typically see no other patients or just 2 or 3 waiting to see "a" doctor but none of us should assume that Dr. Egan has any other patient(s) waiting to see her. Those posting 5-star reviews said that Dr Egan has a wonderful staff, and typically Adrian was cited as an example. However, Adrian would tell you that he is just the receptionist in the shared doctor office. He is not employed by Dr. Egan and he cannot answer any questions about Dr. Egan. I guess the fake reviewers are running out of lies to paint a rosy picture for Dr. Egan and so any random shared helpers are glorified to say that they are extraordinary also - just like Dr. Egan. I especially love it when one of them said that Dr. Egan's billing person did not wait for one single second to waive co-payments for treatment as soon as one of the alleged patient said that she could not afford to pay. It is so dramatic and it is silly to think that anyone would believe those lies. read more

Avoid her at any cost. She said she would take my Medicare and Blue Shield, but then refused the insurance and said my bill was sent to collection. She never sent me the bill and when I asked for it, she refused to send me anything. She is a disgrace to the medical profession. Her acceptance of my insurance was a fraud, and she is fraudulent. My sister- in- law also saw her at the same time, and Egan did the exact same to her. I sent in details in writing, but she marked the envelope "Refused" and it came back from the post office. This is a follow-up on my experience -- original listed under "Rob," my son. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SEEING THIS DOCTOR. People who gave this doctor more than a 1 star were lucky -- or perhaps their friends. If there were stars in the "Minus" category, she -- and most particularly her front office staff -- would receive "Minus 5 stars." I have an excellent credit rating. I paid her "collection agency" NOT because she is owed any money by me, but because I need to protect that credit rating. Something I'm sure she and her staff must count on. I was promised over a month ago, that I would receive the so-called billing never sent to me by the doctor's office. I'm still waiting, haven't received it, and cannot get through to the Capital Accounts agency. Her "front' desk person is nothing short of incompetent and rude, and beyond belief. She found it acceptable to call me a "f-ing bitch," and to indicate she didn't care if the doctor got paid or not. The day I was last in, her "system" was supposedly down and she was unable to take my payment. I offered to leave my credit card number or call her back. Not necessary according to her. She would call me back as soon as the system was up -- especially since another appointment way to be scheduled, and to the doctor's alleged due date was coming up. I never received a call back. I called several times, left messages, and my calls were not returned, and the next thing I know, I've got this collection agency calling me for her money PLUS a $50.00 fee. As noted, I paid it because I have a credit rating to protect. I asked for documentation so I can address the issue. No documentation has been received. Today (12/18/2015) I left a message with Capital Accounts to call me back. I will be filing appropriate charges at my earliest convenience. Particularly, a complaint with my insurance company which appears to have paid the "good doctor" for procedures that were never done. Again, my advice, go to an urgent care, ER, anywhere for immediate treatment if you need it, and get a referral to someone competent. read more

Dr. Egan and most her staff were delightful during my three visits to her practice. The so-called bookkeeper, Jackie, is beyond rude and incompetent. My bill was coded wrong and I was charged for a service I did not have. I called Jackie to straighten out the matter and she hung up on me. She continues to be unprofessional and has done nothing to help me resolve the issue. I have asked Dr. Egan to call me back twice, but have not received a call back. read more

This is the absolute worse doctor's office I have ever used. Not only have I not received any notices for outstanding balances (which is a whole other story) but the staff at this office is TERRIBLE. I wouldn't send my dog to see this doctor or to have to deal with the terrible level of service I received. This office will send your bill to a collection agency before making any calls to you to let you know you have a balance because the billing department is so inept, I think they just send directly to collections to avoid picking up the phone. My 2 x 5 minute visits with co-pay plus full medical insurance coverage still cost $200 extra!. I've never written a review about a doctor before, but I'm so disgusted with the service and level or 'care' here I don't want any of my neighbors in the South Bay or surrounding areas to deal with what I'm dealing with. She refused to treat a sinus infection that has recurred about 6 , 7 , 8 over 15 years the way it had been successfully treated in the past. She had 4 try's and still refused the drug that had been successful in the past. On the 3rd try she gave me the antibiotic I asked for ......at half strength. I did feel a little better wile I took it . So now I've been sick for over 4 weeks with over a 100 temp . On the 4th visit again pleaded with her to give me what had worked so many times before. She said NO again and told me to go to the drug store and get some Sudafed and come back in 2 weeks. I found the Dr that used to be there Dr. Rehm 310-657-0123I (A great Dr., He treated me successfully on the past for this.) I told him the story. Right off he said you can't take Sudafed your on Blood Pressure meds that will make it go up. I didn't know that and apparently either did DR Egan. Or maybe she did and just didn't bother to look at the paperwork she had me fill out. So he checked my B.P. and he was right it was up about 15-20%. He gave me what I was asking for. What he's given me in the past successfully. What I begged her for all along. I felt better in 5 hrs and 3 days was 100%. I'm not an expert and this is just my opinion. I think there is something going on here more than just being a bad Dr.. I think there's something Wong with her. I'm giving her 1 star you can't give less. I'm 59 y.o. it's not inconceivable that the Sudafed she prescribed might have caused something really terrible to happen to me. read more

TERRIBLE! DO NOT GO TO HER! Called to ask if she "took" my insurance they said yes and I had a brief visit. She isn't very warm. Then I got a bill for $300. Called billing dept. and they told me my error was asking if she "took" my insurance vs. asking if you were a "provider" and said that she "takes" all insurances but isn't a provider for all. Asked for Doc to call me back and she didn't. Staff is REALLY RUDE too! Bad experience all around. Dr Egan is a scam artist. My son visited this doctor twice to check his ear. The first time on 2/19/2014, she charged a total of $1120 to look at my son's ear and put in a paper patch. The second time on 2/26/2014 to look at the ear in five minutes and dismissed. We saw on the bill she once again charge for the second time $700 for paper patch. What a scam artist. Avoid her at any cost. She is just after your money and insurance money. On the dismissal after the second visit, she ordered my son to revisit a week later for the third time but we did not buy it since she said no big deal with my son's ear. We saw no other patients when we were there, thus we know this doctor would milk any showed up patients to the max. read more

I made an appointment as a cash paying customer and they still asked for medical insurance information. I fully know that this dr is not covered by my plan and again, I was going to pay cash. I received a call the next day "hi, dr. Egan does not take YOUR insurance. The appointment will be canceled. Thanks buh-bye." I called later the same day and asked if they turn away cash paying patients on purpose. They hung up on me three times with the same question and got no answer each time. I have never written a Yelp post before but I had to after the disappointing and rude treatment I got from my doctor. I took my mom to see dr Egan back in June as she was coming down with a flu or allergic reaction. She was visiting from UK to LA. The travel insurance is covered worldwide but this doctor doesn't accept any travel insurance or American Express. I happily paid the fees she asked and filed a claim with the insurance company - that's the process I was forced to take. A 20 minute wait and a 10 minute session that was charged $150.00, I think was unreasonable and expensive but I just kept quiet because health is important. To file the claim, I need a letter from the doctors office stating my mom was actually there for a visit and they want $300!!!! For a simple letter. This quite a lot of money for a piece of paper. I also requested for a REPRINT of the receipt and some notes the doctor gave and they want $50!! This is not right and I don't think it should be this way. How can a letter cost more than the doctor visit simply to say a patient was seen at this clinic Etc. I don't expect it for free but $300 is a pure rip off and to pay that is just wrong. I am very disappointed at how the staff is and how rude they can be. Despite the doctor being top notch, these absurd charges and a rude staff is not helpful. read more

Every visit (for a recent ear obstruction) has been a pleasant one. From the greeting by Vanessa at the front desk, Adrian the assistant and Dr. Egan herself...all have been friendly, professional and helpful. Even the visit with the audiologist was pleasant - she's friendly and was most professional during the hearing exam. Dr. Egan's recommended prescription fixed me right up and she was eager to hear my progress and what I had to say about the treatment. She was forthcoming with details on how we would keep my ears healthy, offered suggestions and recommendations that would ensure we stay on track to avoid future visits for treatment. At no time did I feel rushed or in a "system" that didn't care. Thank you Dr. Egan and team! The office is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. And when you're finished you can cross the street and shop or dine at the Manhattan Village Mall. read more

Omg, where do I start. My sons surgery was wrong and we knew it from the beginning. After several post surgery visits he tried to tell her his bite was wrong and that he did not want to live like that. She brushed him off every time and just said nothing or you'll be ok. Panic stricken that it would heal incorrectly we got a second opinion and that doctor showed us the xrays. It was horrible to us :-(. My son decided to have the surgery done over. Helped me a lot with my nasal obstruction.

I was first very pleased at how quickly I was able to be seen. I have had two appointments now that both went well. I just received my first bill, and my secondary insurance was not applied. I called to find out why and they stated "we do not bill secondary insurances, you can send the bill if you want to them." My complaint- why, upon my initial visit when my insurance cards were photo copied, was that information NOT relayed. I find that to be unacceptable and sneaky. read more

Great doctor. Performed sinus surgery and went flawless. I can breathe, smell and have a restful night...which had not had in years. Yes they do collect co-payments and deductibles if not met, so I can only think that some people here have been sent to collections for non-payment, hence the bad reviews. I saw Dr. Eagan for a procedure to open my sinuses to prevent chronic sinus infections. Her manner is professional and caring. She was easy to get an appointment with, clear with expectations and costs, gentle and clear in explaining how the procedure would go, and caring and her follow up. She used the latest technology for a minimally invasive procedure. I've been free from any sinus problems since seeing her. The entire experience was worth much, much more than my actual expense. read more

Doctor Egan fixed my cheekbone after a terrible fall. The ER called her very early in the morning and shared my CAT scan and information. She said that she must see me immediately. The office staff helped me get all of my pre-op work done in one day and I was in surgery 6 days after the fall. I have never waited in the waiting room or one of the operatory rooms without someone attending to me. I consider the day that I discovered Dr. Egan to be one of the luckiest days of my life. I injured my right ear in a wrestling class at my gym. My ear became very swollen, and without treatment would have likely turned into cauliflower-ear, like many of my training partners. Dr. Egan drained the ear and stitched a bolster on it, which was relatively painless. A week later she took the bolster off and I have to say I am very happy with the results....my ear looks great, it's not infected, and I'm back at the gym like nothing happened. read more

I went to Dr, Egan for some advice a few months ago, and I can say now. I am one very happy patient! I am 48 years old and have been dealing with acne on and off all my life. She has developed a product line that actually works! I don't even know how many thousands of dollars I have spent trying to get it "right" over the years. I have tried the "best" department store skin lines; I've tried other dermatologist's skin lines, as well as the lines you can buy at chain stores. All I can say is that hers WORKS! I honestly can not believe how quickly it works, how easy it is, and how good it feels on my skin. I take one of the items with me in my purse and use it after the gym. Best of all the line is very reasonably priced. She is not pushy about it either; it was my curiosity that got me into the line. I am so happy that I found her. Don't walk, RUN! read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Egan. I was in from out of town, and had limited availability, so she came in early for me! I had never had botox or fillers before, so I was a bit nervous. Dr. Egan assured me that I would not look like a real housewife ;) She took her time with me, and made sure I was comfortable before moving forward. Dr Egan also used numbing cream and a nerve block, which I was very thankful for. She clearly had extensive knowledge about facial structure, so I felt very confident that she would give me what I was looking for. I received both botox and restylane from Dr Egan, and am thrilled with the results! Exactly what I wanted! I feel that it looks very natural, and I feel so much better seeing my face the way it used to be. Also, she was so nice to be respectful of my budget, and didn't try to push other services on me. She only offered solutions to areas I showed concern about. And my bill was exactly what she quoted me. I'm a happy patient, and will return and send my friends. read more

I have no idea why there are bad reviews at all. The nurses were so very kind and patient. I had intense throat pain for over two weeks and I finally visited Dr. Egan and she knew exactly what she was doing. Two days later, I feel good as new! She was able to answer all of my questions! HORRIBLE. DO NOT GO HERE. INSURANCE FRAUD The Doctor will have you assuming you are there for an office visit. You will get bill in the mail saying you had some kind of procedure. The doctor is late, and does not explain what she is doing. She then bills you for unknown charges. The office manager is a woman who does not speak very good English and has no understanding of insurance claims and or customer service. I'm disgusted by the level of professionalism the office manger has in aiding with any questions. When asked why I wasn't told what I would be charged for and explaining that I was not wrongly charged she had no answers and said that the procedure was done and therefore needed to pay. What procedure? Better Business Bureau and every review site will know of the horrible practice from office manager to doctor. WHAT A JOKE OF A DOCTOR!! Maybe she gave my daughter 30 seconds of her time to say, "Everything came out fine. Let's schedule another appointment in one month." WHAT??? My daughter went to see Dr. Egan because of a suspicious lump on her neck a week and a half ago. The dr had her go to Century City to get an ultrasound and biopsy last week. Dr. Egan's office called Hannah and asked if she could come in Friday, November 15, to discuss the results but Hannah had to work that day. Understand that this is Tuesday now, November 19, we just came back from Dr. Egan. I asked Dr. Egan why she could not have just called Hannah and said everything was fine. The doctor actually CLAIMED the results didn't get to her until today. Tell me then why did the office want Hannah in this past Friday. Again, WHAT A JOKE!! That was hard earned money that my daughter worked for and could have been told she was fine on the phone and not have paid a copay. AND, not have had to visit a doctor that is so dishonest. I NEVER write reviews, however my experience with Dr Egan and her staff prompted me to do so. Let me start by saying, I was well aware prior to my first visit that I needed sinus surgery, I had been getting chronic sinus infections for many years. Doctor Egan saw me in early February and determined I needed sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum amongst other things. I scheduled my surgery for early March, and was told my surgery was a success and that I was healing nicely.. (two follow up appointments with in 2 weeks after surgery) HMMMM.... In mid April I started having severe symptoms, similar to a sinus infection. I was traveling , and was extremely concerned about getting on a airplane with major sinus issues. I visited Dr Egan's office only to be told it was allergies, and was prescribed nasal sprays. Let's just say the issue only escalated and when I returned to LA, I saw my regular doctor who but me on antibiotics. Since then I have had CONSTANT issues with my sinuses... In August I went back to Dr Egan after experiencing weeks of post nasal drip and a low grade fever. Put simply she AGAIN brushed it off as allergies. NOW THE ICING ON THE CAKE... I decided to take this matter into my own hands and scheduled an appointment with another ENT. Within 30 seconds of looking into my nose, he could clearly see how inflamed my nasal passage was.. (Hence why I was experiencing post nasal drip for so many months) I had a cat scan done which determined that I have a severe infection. Thanks to this Doctor, I am now on the right track to healing.. I am infuriated that Dr. Egan brushed my symptoms off as allergies, when CLEARLY there was a major issue. read more

This is my first review ever on Yelp but it's much needed. The doctor is nice and knows what she is doing. The billing lady is the most disrespectful person I have ever met in the medical field. I was told I was going to receive a cosmetology consultation for free, went in and it was great. I get a bill for $540 for a 3 minute appointment. I try to call about the situation and she's telling me it wasn't free, so I start to get upset and she hangs up in my face. Call back hangs up again. Wouldn't let me speak to the doctor about the situation. Wouldn't refer this place to ANYONE.- read more

Terrible! Don't go to her!!!! I took my 2 year old daughter to see her because she had a piece of plastic stuck up her nose. My daughter was so afraid that Dr. Eagan was not able to check her and recommended that she should be put under anesthesia. I then realized that she was not in network and she did not take my insurance, so I made another appointment with a doctor in network to get the procedure done. I get a bill from Dr. Eagan's office for $300 for the 10 minutes she tried to check my daughter. I called her several times, sent her letters to try to work a payment plan with her, but no response from her. Her billing department is super rude and will hang up on me every time I'll call! 60 days later I get a letter that my bill was sent to collections. Dr. Egan ..the best in my book!!! Patient knowledgeable and kind. I have gone to Dr. Egan for quite a few different procedures and each time I am thankful. The last time I saw Dr. Egan was for a second opinion for a lip biopsy. I had a lip ulcer for three months and my oral surgeon wanted to do a biopsy. I thought about this and then decided to see Dr. Egan for that second opinion. Thankful that I did. After patiently listening to my history on this and taking a look at my lip she prescribed a cream and an over the counter cream as well. I can tell you within one day had no more pain and could move my mouth again and within 2 days the ulcer had started healing and I could now eat and drink foods that I had been avoiding for a few months. A week later I went to my follow up appointment and the lip was almost totally healed. As I said she is the best!!!! read more
