When communicating I felt uncomfortable she stated that she had to "make sure what I'm doing". I'm crazy y'all so I left all my stuff there. You put it back since you wouldn't give me enough space to feel comfortable as a shopper. Kroger do better. It's sad when I can't even feel comfortable shopping. Seems like a nice enough store, with the things that you would expect from a Kroger, but not terribly friendly people here. Only person who talked or responded to me was at the checkout. Not really the way that you would encourage people to come in to the store and shop. On my most recent visit here... a lot of things out of stock and people still unfriendly. The checker, Diamond, barely acknowledged the presence of the people in line. She was happy to talk to the checker at the next stand though. Pretty typical of the service here. read more

This is my go-to grocery store whenever I need to shop for the week! I have been shopping here for years, and I still have no complaints! They are always well stocked in every department especially in the meats and produce section. This location is much nicer and cleaner than the other Kroger locations that I've visited in the past. Also, the staff here are very welcoming, and are always willing to help you find what you need! I typically come during the night time, and it isn't too busy. This Kroger is actually more convenient that the other grocery chains in the area. So I can appreciate getting in and out is easy. Although parking can be a hassle. Not sure who designed the parking lot but it's extremely tight going down the aisles with 2 way traffic. The deli is my favorite part of the store. It's always fresh and good. The fried chicken is really good but sells out real quick. The bakery needs some real upgrades. I never like the bakery and they don't do a good job of designing the cakes. I was very disappointed for holidays on what they offer but the cookies are good. Other than that it's a pretty decent store and regardless of my complaints I'll keep shopping here. read more

Meh, I have been here a handful of times and am not impressed yet. Pros: -Sale prices are pretty good (I once got Ribeye steaks for $4.95/lb, small individual-serving bottles of wine for .90 each, etc. ). -Items seem to be fairly well stocked. -I do live looking through their clearance rack. Unfortunately, I have encountered numerous employees here who lack any form of customer service. Some of the circumstances I recall include: -a worker stocking the orange juice section. His cart was completely blocking access to the OJ doors. I wasn't sure what kind I needed so I stood (far) back and scanned the products. At no point did he ask me if he could help me... it was as if I wasn't even standing right next to him staring into a blocked case. What? Was I supposed to wait 20 minutes for him to finish stocking before I got what I needed? A simple "Can I get something for you?" Would have been great. I eventually squeezed my way in and grabbed what I needed. Another instance was when a product didn't ring up the correct price at the self checkout. When I notified a worker, it was as if she didn't believe me. So she made me go to the aisle and get the price tag. (Ok??) So I went and snapped a pic of the price sticker and came back and found her to finish my sale. Only, when I told her I found it, she said in a rude tone "He (another employee) can do it." (I just figured because she was helping me to start, I would come back to find her... guess not). Aside from the lack luster employees, Kroger seems to be the Mecca of rude customers. In one trip I was nearly run over by 6 people pushing carts as if they were in the final seconds of filling their cart during Supermarket Sweep's "Big Sweep" round. NOT ONE OF THEM APOLOGIZED FOR NEARLY RUNNING ME OVER. Not one of them uttered a single word. Oh, and then during the same trip, I was looking at the meat case and a man literally PUSHED ME OUT OF THE WAY WITH HIS CART. I stood in shock as HE then looked at the meat. Like, HELLO, am I invisible?!? Another lady during the SAME TRIP was getting some eggs from BEHIND the empty bins that were in front. She literally moved 3 empty bins out of the way, moved the full bin to the front to get a carton of eggs. I was standing there waiting to grab a carton too when she then pushed the full bin of eggs back to the back and stacked the 3 empty bins back in front. (Again, I was just standing there in shock, like WHY would you do that? WHY wouldn't you leave the full bin out for other people??) Sigh. Well, this is why I rarely go to Kroger unless there is a really good sale on something. Between the employees and the customers, I can't take being there more than I have to. read more

I was totally disappointed when I recently visited this Kroger and discovered pet food being sold from the same freezer case as human food. I have a parent who is visually impaired, not blind, and because she wants to maintain as much independence as possible, she does her own shopping. The pet food being located here can create a horrible mistake for someone like her. I have seen other stores with a specific freezer/ refrigerator section for pet food exclusively. And I hope that someone from this Kroger sees this post and would consider making some changes. read more

I shop at this Kroger almost every week. I've actually been shopping here since it opened. When it first opened the staff were older, professional, and you hardly had to wait long because they would open up a line. Over time it has gone down. Some of the staff are very young, have poor customer service, and act as if they don't even want the job. When they remodeled the store it was very apparent with the lack of customer service. Many of the employees didn't even know where food items had been moved. There have even been times when they don't even have sackers so I use the self check regardless of the amount of groceries I have. Plus I put like items together & certain sackers do not. They tend to run out of items because it is a popular location, but the managers and some of the employees will try to see if they have additional items in the back. They run out of the Free Friday specials often. On the weekend get there early if you want the fresh chicken from the deli. They do have most lanes open even if the lines might be long. Parking is not that great since they shutdown half the lot due to the Click List pickup. There tends to be shopping carts in the way blocking parking spaces. So why do I continue to shop here if there are multiple issues? The reasons I still shop here are because it's not as crowded as the other big name grocery store down the street, the coupons are pretty good, and for the Kroger fuel points. read more

I really like this Kroger. I'm going to give it a high rating because overall most times things are excellent. However the ladies room on the first floor is not up to par more often than not. But my biggest complaint is about one employee in particular in the seafood area. His name is Romieus. He is never friendly and is confrontational when you try to let him know that things are supposed to be on sale. When he sees customers walking to the counter to get help, he actually goes to the back. I have seen this multiple times. He found it to be very funny that I decided to hold. I asked for a basketball cake 8" round cake. I included pictures of what they decide to make my son for his birthday. This is my frequent store along side of Walmart. I shop here for the gas points and online coupons. My only complaint is the low availability of cashiers and having to frequently use self checkout, which seems to be common among many stores these days. There's no concept of politeness or customer service. The inside is dirty, shelves are always a mess. At night you can find customers screaming profanities in front of the building. This is probably my favorite Kroger in the area. They seem to keep a larger quantity of sale items than the store near Cullen. So, If I'm shopping a sale I usually come here. As far as Pearland grocery stores go, this place is A-OK. I originally came here a few times to get the limited release Saint Arnold's Divine series (which, btw, they leave out on a huge island...none of this against-the-rules wait list garbage the other places pull...) and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the store. Like another mentioned, the ethnic food aisle is pretty expansive and the beer/wine section is great too. I've had pretty mixed experiences with the staff, though, and that's why I've rated it a 3 and not a 4 (for a grocery store to warrant a 5, it would have to be a Whole Foods with the prices of an Aldi). PROS: -Great selection of wine/beer -Super clean, lots of parking -Easy to navigate aisles -Fair prices, as Kroger/Dillons/Etc. usually are CONS: -On my handful of trips there, I've been met with marked indifference from staff who seem tired and unengaged. Its not bad...but its not good either. -Odd location that is really only handy if you live right by it. Otherwise dealing with 288 and the feeders is a little cumbersome when there are perfectly good alternatives South of it. read more

My review isn't against the entire store but the deli itself. Perhaps I am irritated I work and live in this area and there are no "healthy fast options" to eat during lunch. So I figure I will go make a salad in the deli. The "goodies" were very limited and didn't even have cheese. The only to go dressing option wa ranch. The salad bar is 5.99 a pound but no tasty goodies! Therefore I ha to go to the olive bar to get a few things which ended up being 4.00 itself since it is 8.99 a pd. Plus I got me an avocado to juice it up. Grant it my salad only ended up being 3.79 but with me having to buy all the other goodies it was over 8.00. Once I got back to work I made my salad and the cucumbers were sour. The lettuce was not fresh. I just figured for this side of town and it being a signature store they would have a bigger variety and be the freshest possible! I really wish there were more fast food healthy options. Sad that buccees salads were better. This Kroger does have a much Better meat department than all the other Kroger I pearland I do have to admit. Yes, I know Kroger is a grocery store like most others, but this location is something special. First of all, its about 5 minutes from my door, which is awesome. Secondly, its not the typical Kroger...its a Market of sorts-kinda like Central Market, but on a smaller scale. The Highlights: Huge produce department Fresh Sushi made daily thats actually pretty good. The deli has great selection of meats and cheeses Bakery makes fresh bread throughout the day Great wine/beer selections that almost competes with Specs The ethnic food selection consists of more than one tiny section on a single aisle.
