It's everything you'd expect from a Thunderdome operated restaurant. It's sleek, well run, affordable. It's just a flat out enjoyable restaurant experience. You will see a noticeable difference in decor and vibe from before when it was Lavomatic. The first thing we noticed after being seated was how knowledgeable the waitstaff was. I wouldn't expect anything less from these guys. Our waitress immediately ran through the menu with us turning an overwhelming experience into a satisfying one. They have buckets of beer. That's all that needs to be said about that. On to the food! Every food option is under $10. From their (house made) sausages, to their fondue appetizers, and even on to their (finally OTR!) sandwiches. I opted for the Cuban which was straight up delectable. Moist, flavorful, with high quality bread. I also tried the burger which was described as an "old school" burger. It comes with two 3 oz. patties house made pickles, and "special" sauce. Best bang for your buck burger in the area. The beer cheese, Gruyere dip, and fries were also perfectly pleasant. What really makes this place stand out from other dining options in OTR is the sheer size of the place. There is no shortage of seating which is a godsend. Wait times may be a little less here than other options. Which is always a good thing. The drink list is ginormous. Huge selection of beer, wine, specialty cocktails. The whole shebang. This is definitely going to be another Thunderdome success. I am already counting the days to when patio season arrives and I can enjoy their rooftop area with a cold drink in hand. It's been just a few hours since my lunch at Krueger's but I'm still thinking about my eggplant parm sandwich. It was indeed that delicious. Beyond the really lovely but simple interior, Krueger's boasts an absolutely stunning rooftop deck that overlooks OTR. I can imagine how crazy this place must be come happy hour! But don't write it off for lunch, as it's a great spot to grab a delicious sandwich and enjoy some fresh air. Service was on point all the way around for a quick and delicious lunch. As previously mentioned, the eggplant parmesan sammie was fine indeed. Imagine perfectly crispy yet tender eggplant slivers with gooey provolone, house made San Marzano tomato sauce, pepperonata, pesto all sandwiched in a (fabulous) cuban roll. The sauce was wonderful and reminded me of my grandma's incredible 8 hr red sauce. That is the finest of compliments, folks. I also ordered up the kale salad to add some greenery on the side and was pleased with the lemony friseed greens with bits of parmesan breadcrumbs. I don't know where to start...this place absolutely blew me away. The inside, for one, was beautiful. They quoted us a 45 min wait and it was more like 15 min. Then we were seated. The server came and explained they had been open for about 3 months now, which explains why I never saw if down there in OTR before. They are mainly canned beers on their drink menu, with a large selection. Had liquors too. I ordered the burger with fries. This burger may be THE BEST I have had in Cincinnati! I had customers with me who recommended we have lunch at Kruegers. I'll need to come back here for happy hour or dinner next time. Nice little tavern with a wide selection of craft beers on tap. Their lunch menu had a wide selection of burgers, brats and vegetarian options. I had the HOT burger with ghost peppers and hot sauce, but substituted the black bean burger instead. Wow! This was quite hot, but a really nice heat that would have gone well with a beer. It's good they bring you carafes of water. Also had their beer cheese with warm pretzels which I highly recommend. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and were able to be seated immediately indoors. Unfortunately, there was a wait for the patio. We just ordered some apps to share and they were all delicious. The dip for the fries is super tangy- in a good way! The meatball app is small but very good. The grilled bread is perfect for the saucy meatballs. The sauce is a little sweet and there are olives and capers mixed in. The beer cheese and pretzels are very good and there's a lot of cheese so I recommend adding the extra pretzels for $2. A zenith for cornmeal. Actually, Cornmeal isn't really a food. It's too utilitarian, a cooking aid that gets scraped off instead of eaten. English muffins, crusty bread, pizza (when it can't otherwise get crisp) litter kitchen sinks everywhere with cornmeal that isn't good enough to be consumed. And then... there's the grits thing. Sweet or savory cornmeal mush, that mistakenly morphs into polenta - Italian for "overcooked it." So if you're not a fan, and typically order something else when it's listed instead of fries, you'd be making a monumental mistake at Krueger's Tavern. A burger and sausage house, brought to us by the Thunderdome Group of Bakersfield fame. Their Italian Sausage plate was excellent, an unexpected triumph. My boyfriend is living in SF and has made it his mission to try the best burgers in the city, so I was curious so see how this burger would do in his rankings. What a great place. First off, I must give props to Brittany, our server. She was frickin' awesome!! No joke - she connected to us at a personally level and was really funny, and do know that she is serious about her cheese, so her recommendation is totally worth it! (Inside joke, had to be there.) The fondue cheese appetizers were great. We had the gruyere and beer cheese one, and they are pretty much "Shut your mouth amazing!"on a scale from 1 to 10. For my meal, I ordered the burger and a side of fires, and I was more than happy with you. The burger was scrumdiddlyumptious (hopefully there's not copyright infringement from Wonka for that), and th fries were served with a unique vinegar aioli. I've never had anything quite like that aioli - it's definitely worth trying. The space is typical to the Over-the-Rhine restaurants/bars in the area. It's not quite as narrow, but very similar, although I can't wait until the patio opens up!! My only critique is the lighting...it was pretty dim, and I don't think it's just because of my aging. My favorite part of the meal was the tomato pesto jar appetizer. there's ricotta inside... Enough said. We ordered the Italian sausage to split which was a good decision because the portion was fairly big. I'd suggest an appetizer and entree to split for two. I've been here a couple times and can't believe I haven't written a review. Let's fix that! First off, get the Kale salad! Even if you don't like salads or kale, this will change your mind. It's so simple and delicately made...Some chopped kale, garlic breadcrumbs, (a lot) parmigiano reggiano, lemon vinaigrette. It works perfectly and you forget you're even eating salad. Second, the burgers. I've gotten the Bacon Krueger and it never disappoints. Two homemade beef patties are perfectly placed on "challah" buns. I don't really know what challah was but its amazing and it looks like the perfect hamburger bun. The cheese is nicely melted with the mixed greens and BACON mayo and it just looks like the best burger ever. It doesn't leave you feeling too full or unhealthy. There's more sides and sandwiches but this is basically my go to. I just add a cocktail or beer to finish my order off. Prices aren't bad either so I can't complain. After going to Ladder 19 and being (literally) completely forgotten about, my boyfriend and I were starving. We are out of towners and had no idea where to go, but yelp suggested Krueger's. This place not only did NOT forget about us, but they housed the friendliest people we'd run into since being in Cincinnati. Mark was our server, and he was not only helpful, but also attentive. We are working our way through the Vine Street strip. Krueger's is our favorite so far! We visited on a Monday night, a little after 7. No wait! The hostess was very friendly and was not at all bothered by the fact that we had our 8 year old son with us. She actually went out of her way to greet him. :). Love the decor - nice, but comfortable - not stuffy. The Food We started off with the Beer Cheese. It wasn't bad, but we would try a different appetizer next time. It was nice that they brought us extra bread when we ran out of dippers for the cheese. Our server recommended the Lincolnshire (sp?) Sausage which was accompanied by greens, onions, and mashed potatoes. She said the mashed potatoes were, "to die for." She was correct! I am not a huge fan of burgers, but my son was dying for the bacon cheeseburger, so I agreed to share that with him. Good call on his part. It was the best burger I have ever had - no joke! We also had the fries which were delicious too. I want to give special props to the hostess. I love the atmosphere of this place. They have an extensive drink list and their burgers are amazing. I was underwhelmed by their sausages, but only because I have been spoiled rotten by Avril Bleh's meat products. Their fries are awesome and I absolutely LOVE the dip they come with. Their appetizers are also quite good, but I do wish they had a bit more of a variety than three different dips. Something that offers a different texture maybe? Just a thought. I love their staff and the accessibility of their approach to food. I do wish they would add some traditional pub food to their menu since they are a tavern. Up on the rooftop on a hot summer day there's a place with hanging lights and open brick. A place you can go in OTR and grab lunch served quickly and I must say perfectly. I ordered the veggie Burger that apparently has won best in Cincinnati for three years. How could I not know such a thing? It was PHENOMENAL. Made with Gold and Red beets, pesto mayo, and white cheese. I ordered with Fries and they were a little salty but fantastic. They are served with Malt Vinegar mayo which is truly the perfect way to eat a fry. At least it is in my book. I loved this place. Excellent food and drinks. The food is freshly made and from great ingredients. We've had the eggplant parmigiana sandwich which I don't think is on the menu anymore but either way, it was great. The beer and drink selection is par for the course in OTR which means a wide variety of mostly canned craft beers (The name for the restaurant comes from Krueger's Brewing, which was a New Jersey brewery that, in 1935, was the first to sell beer in cans (from company website)). It can be crowded so you might have to wait a bit, no problem, mosey down to Mica 12/V and buy something cool for yourself or friend. read more

Came across this place while searching for a recommended hamburger place in OTR. I gotta say this was quite a good find! The location and atmosphere here are pretty great..urban but comfy. The service is excellent. The hamburgers are definitely above average. My girlfriend described the taste as a high class Big Mac..which is a compliment and I agree (I feel the reason for this is that they both have a very similar "special sauce"). We tried the beer cheese and pretzels as an appetizer and I gotta tell you..I was impressed..more by the presentation of the dish than the actual taste but still! Food was great! Service was lacking :( We were seated up on the rooftop, which was stunning. There had been a big storm earlier in the day and the sun was just starting to come out again. Service.was.slow. Like... really slow. I felt awful for our server, he was just drenched in sweat and he looked miserable. Went back and walked into multiple open tables. Disappointed with the reservation service but once we were there everything was great. I got the bbq and the brisket was amazing!! Hubs and I stopped in here early-ish on a Thursday evening for dinner. The downstairs was packed but there were plenty of seats upstairs, so off we went! The decor of this place is really good and on par with what you would expect from OTR. Our server was fantastic! He was attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. They have a great beer list of local brews, as well as some very creative cocktails. Hubs ordered the BBQ Burger and I ordered the Cuban. We started with the beer cheese which, musch to my utter satisfaction, is now being served with pretzel bread!!!! That beer cheese is wonderful, cheesy, yeasty goodness with a little kick. My husband's BBQ burger was amazing! Messy for sure, but the flavor was spot on. They serve you on these little wooden planks so be sure to ask for extra napkins and don't be shy about tucking one into your shirt! You will need it for this one! My Cuban was all I could have asked for and more! The meat was tender, the bread was perfect, and the mustard was delish! I seriously could not put it down once I started eating. KRUEGERS! Oh how I love you and your gin and juice. Whenever I want a burger, which isn't that often to be honest, my go-to is this wonderful tavern in OTR. There meat here is freshly ground in house and you can definitely tell in the quality! My favorite burger is the flavorful BBQ Burger, packed with pulled pork, a burger patty obviously, coleslaw, pickles, American cheese, bacon and Dijon. This burger isn't too big or too small, it's packed full of delicious toppings and meats that leaves you more than satisfied! The fries too... OHMY! They are definitely big enough to share between two but this particular evening, there was no sharing of any kind happening. All the carbs were just for me! The wait is a typical wait time that is to be expected going to OTR, especially on a weekend so I gladly put down my name and number and hop over to a surrounding bar for drinks or apps while we wait. (May I make a suggestion and say go to Bakersfield next door, step up to the bar and order yourself some chips and guac. Even on the busiest of nights it comes out QUICK, and you're able to have some snacks while you wait for your phone to ring for your table next door.) Finally went for the first time after hearing good things and I was impressed. We started off with a couple of their signature cocktails which we're potent and tasty.
