This place is exactly what you would expect from Thunderdome and the Lanni brothers... Consistent. I have been dying to try this place out since I saw it opened. The atmosphere is great, there is a decent noise level in the background but, not loud enough you cant hear each other talking. Huge bar with a massive alcohol list. The decor fits what you would expect from hearing the name and the fake moss painting on the wall had everyone touching it to see if it was real. Their menu is a lot larger compared to The Eagle and Bakersfield which was a great surprise as it will take me more than 3 trips to try everything. They have a massive can beer list broken out from top to bottom starting with lightest to darkest. They have amazing beer cocktails and their gin is made in house. I would like to comment on their gin specifically. I hate gin and have had horrible experiences with it in the past even when gin experts pointed out ones "I have to try". Their Gin & Juice was fantastic and I barely tasted the Gin however, felt the gin (if you catch my drift). My gf had the Bremen Shandy and loved it. She hates fireball however, it complemented this beer-cocktail. Our server was Kelsey and she was awesome. She broke down the menu in an easy fashion and made some suggestions (which I went with) and were spot on! The manager walked over to each table to check in and told us a funny story about his teenage years with Gin after I complemented their Gin & Juice stating I hate Gin but, wanted to give theirs a shot. The food came out in a timely manner and was sensational . I had the Jagerwurst and burger and my gf had the eggplant parm sandwich. I'd like to point out that they make their sausages in house which is a +1 in my book. It came out perfectly cooked throughout and was tender and juicy sitting atop a bed of red cabbage. The burger; which the manager claimed and coined "this is what The Big Mac hopes to grow up to) was exactly that statement. I am not sure how they did it but, it tasted like a fresher, healthier, better version of The Big Mac. My gf stated that the eggplant parm sandwich was arguably the best sandwich out of the 3 restaurants on Vine that the Lanni's opened. I went there around 9:30/10PM on a Friday night which is when you would expect this place to packed with the upside of poor service however, that was not the case here which is why as I listed above; is consist ant with Thunderdome and the Lanni brothers. I am not sure how they do it but, everyone that works at their establishments is always in a great mood and is exceptional at their job. All in all, I give this place a 5 out of 5 stars. They hit upon the main points you'd expect from a place on Vine street. Exceptional service, solid food, multiple options, specialty cocktails, and a original atmosphere. I am not sure if they kept the patio like Lavomatic had and if they did, I cant wait to go back in the spring when it opens up! read more

Been here a handful of times and the bartenders and waiters always seem to be friendly and attentive. The drinks are made well. I do like their Gin & Juice specialty cocktail. As far as food goes, I absolutely LOVE the eggplant parm sandwich! Delicious, unique & filling. The cuban sandwich is decent. Gruyere dip decent; good for a starter to share. By far one of my favorite burgers in the city, I can't really explain it because it's pretty straightforward, but I think that's why I love it so much. Krueger's has just let their burger be a burger; nothing complicated, just delicious. The shredded lettuce is such an amazing texture which really took my by surprise. Who would have thought that the cut of lettuce could make such a delicious difference? Always order the fries with your burger. If you don't, you're un 'Merican and you should be ashamed. All the cocktails are delicious. I'm trying to work my way through the endure cocktail menu, but they are not skimpy on the booze and I'm only able to consume about two per visit. Oh, and that is not a complaint. They're just that awesome! My one complaint is the beer cheese dip. The actual cheese is delicious, but they served them with the crouton-like bread and it's awful. It ruins what could be a really amazing appetizer. I've read that others have suggested soft pretzels to accompany the magical cheese and I could not agree more. That would be a naughty, dirty, and delicious combination. The bonus to Krueger's? The wait is actually bearable. Even on a Saturday night, we can typically put our names in with only about an hour and a half wait. So we just plan ahead and do some pre drinking at other bars and restaurants while we wait. This is coming from a gal who doesn't even like beer cheese or tomatoes. - Their sausages are made in-house, and are quite tasty. The Italian is spiced well and very flavorful, and it pairs well with the polenta cake. - Being known for their burgers, they have a creative selection to choose from. I personally like the spicy burger the most. (Momma likes her hot sauce!) Cons: - The cocktail list is short and underwhelming. One time they were even unable to make a John Daly because they were out of lemonade. It doesn't matter though; when I came back to try it, I found a poor alcohol rendition of golfers' favorite cocktail. - They take items off the menu, not because they're out of season, but just because they feel like it. It was really a bummer when the gruyere dip and eggplant parm sandwich left the menu. I know a lot of people who were saddened to see the parm leave! - This menu does NOT travel well. Checked out Krueger's Tavern for the first time today and loved it. I'm a cheese lover, so my friend & I split the Gruyere Dip for an appetizer. It did not disappoint. Normally with appetizer dips, I find that there is not a sufficient amount of bread, pretzels, etc to go with the dip, but we were given about 10-12 toasted baguette slices which was perfect. I got the Gruyere Burger and my friend got the Krueger Burger with fries. Both burgers were excellent, although messy to eat. Definitely need a fork and knife on backup to finish up any toppings that may have fallen off. The canned beer selection was great. I got the Founders All Day IPA, one of my favorites. As a primary vegetarian, I dreamed a 6lb burger on a grill with the most perfect, grilled, and butter bun cap. I saw the mounds of cheese and then the dream panned to the grill where the grease was bubbling and a spatula was spreading it's goodness across the grill. Was this my time? This Big Mac look alike with finely shredded lettuce, an in-house Island sauce, it was the Challah bun that drove me in. Krueger Burger, here we come...6 years in absence, you will be mine. Well, it was mine...about 3 nights ago. I have to be excited when I write these reviews. There was NOTHING distinguishable about this $9 burger. Other than hats off for an in-house ground meat (they also offer sausage), the burger was bland of seasoning. It was very one-note, I don't eat McDonald's but I'd have been quite as pleased with a $4.50 Big Boy. At first bite I was expecting the same flavorful greasiness to spew out of the meat. What I received was dull. The most disappointing thing was also the most anticipated, that pound of lettuce centerfield- it was wilted, brown, clear, and confusing. There was nothing fresh about it. I was hoping the lettuce would bind everything together, instead it reminded me of old water. Cheese, what cheese? I requested extra sauce and pickles, they were kind about this and placed them on the side. I would have been okay with them putting them on, though this was a very nice touch. The sauce was tasty in all it's extraness; 'twas a very mild thousand-island dressing. The bun was what I thought and more. I ordered this for carryout and I'm glad I did! It was so crowded on a Friday night, the Vine Strip is pretty awesome. It's great to see Downtown booming! I called in 25 minutes early, when I arrived I decided I wanted fries but the bartender was unsure of the wait, "in a crowd like this" Eh. If he had cared more to check, I would have waited. Had a great lunch with my papa where we split the Cuban and Italian sausage. We also had the hot beer cheese, and I agree with others that mentioned pretzels would be sooooo much better. The Italian sausage dish was actually more filling than expected due to the accompaniments which were delicious. I'm big, so I wish there was just about another half of a sausage. Krueger's was really good. We started with the tomato pesto jar and holy cow did this blow both my husband and I away. It's the optimal mixture of fresh, sweet, creamy and savory and we basically inhaled the whole jar. I chose Krueger's for dinner earlier this week thinking I hadn't been there before, but as soon as I walked in, I realized I had been there a couple months ago. The best thing about Krueger's is the atmosphere. The bar is absolutely gorgeous with the mirror behind the shelves. Staff are phenomenal. They are super friendly and attentive, and they help each other. I really want to love the food, but I find myself liking it instead. On both occasions, I ordered the Bleu Gruyere burger, and both times I found myself wondering, "Where's the (Bleu) cheese?" I've observed that people tend to love or hate Bleu cheese. I happen to love it, so I expect to taste it. There was absolutely no hint of Bleu cheese on that burger either time. Outside of that fatal flaw, the burger itself was good. This time, Paul ordered the Bacon burger and enjoyed it. We split an order of fries. I am thrilled that they season them with pepper, but the fact that they were served at room temperature was a let down. I changed the number of stars from three to four multiple times while writing this review. It's really a 3.5 rounded down to a 3 because the food is what matters most to me. read more

First time in this place. I just barely beat the night crowd in on a sweaty spring Saturday. I sat at the bar alone and ordered just a coke, bacon burger (double by default two patties) and fries. I needed burger. Must get burger before work. The bartender didn't treat me any differently even though I wasn't drinking alcohol and I was WIDELY occupying one of his stools LOL. The place was nearly full even this early and my burger & fries were out in maybe 10 minutes. They were delicious. The patties are kinda of a loose smash and every ingredient on my bacon burger was great. The bartender asked if I wanted ketchup, I got fries duh, but I understood what he meant when I tasted the aioli that came with the crispy fry cup. I think it was $13 for a hell of a double bacon burger and fries. This place needs a much heavier consideration for best burger in Cincinnati. Definitely a trendy, younger spot, which isn't me LOL but the food was delicious and the staff was super nice to me sitting at the bar during near prime time on a 90° spring Saturday night. We went to Krueger's on our last day in the city after a short trip to Cincinnati and Kenwood. We got the Krueger's burger and the bacon burger and they both blew me away. This is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I ordered my burger medium well and it was not dry at all. It was juicy and flavorful and the fries were the icing on the cake. I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise based sauces, but the "special sauce" on my burger was surprisingly amazing. This restaurant is a must when visiting Cincy! read more

Yes yes yes! Another amazing place of the owners of Bakersfield and The Eagle, another stroke of genius. Couldn't be happier that the only place on Vine St. with the amazing second floor and a terrace belongs to them. We were told that the terrace is under reconstruction now, cannot wait to see it with an after-Lavomatic lift! About the visit: I rate the whole experience as 5, mainly due to the INCREDIBLE servers. We had a pleasure of being taken care of by Sydney, very knowledgeable, full of suggestions, polite and very kind. Such an investment in training the staff will definitely pay off! The General Manager was kind enough to open us the door 5 minutes before opening time, since we were standing in the rain outside :) He came and check on us during the meal, very nice! I loved the interior, very sleek and modern, good lightning (intimate yet possible to read the menu), good logo, attention to details, the grey-brown furniture balanced with vivid green living vertical wall garden. The menu is simple and clear, American classics with German twists. I especially loved their take on Caesar's salad: greens with schnitzel! Lots of home made 'wuerst', sandwiches, salads, all the options in the range of 8-9 dollars! Most of the dishes (if not all) served on wooden boards, portions are filling. The Cuban sandwich was really good, however the chicken club sandwich was a bit cold and dry. Next time I will definitely order something else. Asparagus was grilled to perfection, served with a very interesting creamy lemon sauce. Unfortunately, French fries were served beautifully, but tasted like the ones from McDonald's, made of some sort of puree, not the best if you ask me. I visited here a couple of times. The first, I was with friends during Fan Fest and OTR was quite busy. We'd already walked in two places that had at least a half hour wait. But this place sat us right away. We weren't starved, but we needed a snack. Both sets of couples decided to just split a burger - one covered in bacon and cheese, the other covered in cheese, bacon and more cheese. All the burgers come with two patties, both of which are on the slim side and cooked well done. It was the perfect amount of food, not a bad price and a pretty decent burger. The rest of their menu looked pretty good as well, so I would love to try it again when I have a bigger appetite. On the second visit, I returned with my father and grandfather one evening. It was busy and had about a 30 minutes wait. We all tried different sausages and quite enjoyed ourselves. Went here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was sort of busy. We got a spot on the rooftop, which was super gorgeous, and was like a mini escape the way they had set it up with their interior design and furniture. Almost all wood, and beautiful mood lighting set up through out the roof top bar and the restaurant. It felt like a New York set up with its busy stair case which is shared with the staff. A little hectic because the kitchen it located right at the stair case and servers/food runners going up and down as well as their customers. Bathrooms are also on another level down stairs which is tucked behind/under the stair case that goes upstairs. The experience was new so it was exciting. Our waitress was super slow at getting our drink orders, getting the drinks, and getting the check. It took at least 30 minutes to get our order and another 20-30mins for our drinks/food (and we only ordered apps). Their drink selection is fantastic, and the server was nice. It was busy, so I couldn't blame the slow service too much with just two servers on the rooftop bar. We got the kale salad, and beer cheese. I wasn't fan of the beer cheese with soft white/rye pieces of bread. The dip it self was good, but the bread was much too light and rye gave it a unpleasant taste. Would be better with pretzel bread or something heavier and not rye. Kale salad was really good, fresh, creamy like dressing. We got a bucket of beer, which is $2 off! They had my fave Stiegl Radler, a shandy with grapefruit juice/soda mixed with beer. Fruity, and refreshing for the summer's hot heat! It would be three stars, but the atmosphere and people around us gave it 4 stars. I would like to see my experience next time and try more food, and update my review :) read more

I do not really ever plan on going to krueger's. Everything is so busy around OTR, that they seem to not have an obnoxious waiting time. I really want to love this pace, it has a nice decor with the moss walls, and nice rooftop patio right above vine street, but the food is just OK. The beer cheese creamy and you can taste the beer, but the pretzels are usually dry and crumbly. The kale salad was ok. The lemon vinaigrette delivers just tartness that over powers any saltiness from the cheese or breadcrumbs. I would like the addition of sweetness to cut the tartness. The burgers here are large and messy, but the challah bread that it comes on is dry and crumbly like the pretzels. I think I drink two glasses of water just for the bread. When you are in OTR and tired of 2 hour waits, then krueger's is a nicely decorated spot to grab some beer, bourbon, and burgers without breaking the bank read more

I've been wanting to check out Krueger's Tavern for awhile now and I finally was able to. I thought the place was really great. I liked the vibe and the service was really good. I decided to get the lamb burger and my fiancé got the Krueger Burger. I thought mine was really good with a lot of good flavors and the burger was very juicy. I tried Nick's burger and thought it was delicious also. We order a serving of sauerkraut balls and they were amazing! We each got a burger and had the sauerkraut balls as the side and that was definitely enough food for the both of us. I order the Lambrusco Sour and it was good even though it was pretty sweet and I don't like sweet drinks. Nick got the whisky punch (not sure if that's what its really called. I cant find it on the menu online) and he loved it. The waiter raved about it and he was telling the truth with how good it was. I will definitely go back whenever I can. Got in here before the opera a couple weeks ago. It was my first time and I had a bacon burger. They do a double-patty setup which is delicious. The bacon and cheese were great. The bun is intense. I started out trying to eat the top and bottom, but ended up just knife&forking the bottom and the goods. I got the fries to go with it, and they were salty, but very delicious. Abby got the Italian sausage, and loved it. I didn't try any, so I can't speak to it myself. We split the beer cheese before dinner and I loved the way it was served in a crock like a fondu with bread chunks for dipping. It was quite tasty! Our only complaint was that we could barely hear each other. Loved it so much went back again to have the same exact thing. Raw Kale in salad must have been massaged for it was so tender. Lentils were fragrant and flavorful.
