Long story short: decent food, nothing to rave about We went to Krueger's for their Burger Week special & tried a few other things while we were there. The burger- which was a single patty rather than their usual double- was decent as were the fries. The spicy chicken parm was so close to being great, but, despite its spiciness, it was bland & desperately needed some salt. The simple kale salad, on the other hand, was great- so bright & flavorful & fresh! Overall, we weren't unhappy with the food, but we were underwhelmed. This is solely based on my 30 minutes there while I was on a call sitting at the bar drinking two old fashions. Service was great, bartender let me choose my whiskey for the old fashion. Was checked on quoted often between the two bartenders and host since it was between service hours (3:45pm). Enjoyed a dinner here during Cincinnati restaurant week. I was more than excited when krueger's reopened in this new location post pandemic. While it's small, the decor and ambiance are great here. It can be loud at times, but it's tolerable. On to the meal. The menu for restaurant week is a great deal since a couple gets a shared appetizer and then each of us got our own side, sandwich and cocktail from the menu. The drinks were fresh, tasty and beautifully garnished. My favorite part of the meal was the fried mozzarella - crispy hand breaded fried fresh mozzarella. Great cheese pulls and flavorful pepperonata and basil aioli. For the dinner course we had broccoli rabe and fries with the Krueger's burger and spicy chicken parm sandwich. The rabe wasn't my favorite as it was in a savory sauce and I wish it were crispier. The fries and burger were perfect as always. The chicken parm was good but the flavors weren't evenly spread. When you got the bite with the spiciness it was really good. Overall this was a fantastic deal for restaurant week and I'll be back in the future for sure. read more

Lovely housemade patty that includes beets which was delicious, the potato bun was perfection! To give it a little pizazz the pesto Mayo was chefs kiss. I would highly recommend trying it out! Delightful dinner at Krueger's. First time back since the remodel. Love the new look. I'm a sucker for a good tiled floor. We sat near the bar along the window at a high top. Nice view of the street. Started with the beet salad. Loved the cold beets and cheese. The creamy cheese was divine. Wish it came with a little more arugula. We split the spicy burger and fries. The burger came with a warning that it is very spicy (an 8, 9, or 10 on a spice level). I thought it was pretty spicy and I'm conservative when it comes to that. It was a spice level I could still enjoy the taste of everything else. The slaw is the spicy part really. The burger patty was kinda bleh and a little grey colored. Loved the bun. The fries were dope, loved the aioli (nice garlic flavor). Service came with a smile. Place had a good crowd for a Monday night which is nice to see. read more

Took a history tour of Cincinnati today but not before we had a little lunch. The crew decided on Krueger's Tavern as it looked cool, near the tour start and near a Graeters! Perfectly located OTR restaurant and near Washington Park parking. We got a couple of starters - the mozzarella cheese slab on puréed pesto sauce and some truffle kettle chips, and beer cheese and pretzels, all were excellent. Krista set us up with some cool cocktail recommendations and they were tasty as well. We all tried different sandwiches: Italian Pork and a side of the Cassoulet, Spicy Chicken Parm, Raclette Grilled Cheese, and something else... I was too busy with my own to care. All great and no leftovers! We will do this again for some casual dining or cocktails with friends. Very relaxing and upscale pub - you should give it a try. read more

We enjoyed our lunch. We went around 3:30pm on a Saturday. We were seated right away. Our server Nick was great & very attentive. The vibe was chill & the music playlist was top notch. The menu is limited (might just be at lunch hours) but our burger & fries alone we would give 5 stars! I ordered my burger with one patty but it normally comes with two. The sauce that came with the fries was delicious. It's a vinegar based dip. Our appetizer was different than what we normally get but I liked it all minus the purple cabbage. I visited Krueger's Tavern roughly a decade ago, and had the best veggie burger of my life. I was ecstatic when they reopened, and I saw that it was still on the menu. I took my mom and sisters who were visiting out of town, and we split several dishes. The burger and beer happy hour is an awesome value. My sister got that and was really happy with her burger. My mom and I split the amazing veggie burger. It is truly unlike any other veggie burger. It has great texture and flavor and isn't gritty. We also got the green beans as an appetizer, and all four of us loved them! We also tried the macaroni and cheese. It was good, but probably not a re-order item for any of us. We also ordered the tower of house, made potato chips with cheese and truffle. While it was beautiful and had pretty good flavor, about half of the chips were stale. We debated on saying something to the server, but decided against it since only half the chips were stale, we felt as though it might just be how the dish usually is. Everything was plated beautifully. The ambience of the restaurant feels upscale, yet approachable. Really pretty decorations and a gorgeous color palette. Our server was nice and pretty attentive. We made a reservation, but since we went to dinner at like 4 PM, we probably would've been fine with that one. However, the restaurant filled up while we were there, so I recommend reservations for later times. We were able to find street parking pretty easily, but I imagine if it were later in the day we would've struggled there too. The restrooms were plenty clean. read more

My wife and I stopped here last year for an impromptu early evening date. It was very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. So last night we were walking past it on the way home from a symphony and I mentioned to my son that I got the worlds smallest drink there (it was also delicious) and I guess I said it too loud, because a worker (I think, maybe the owner, maybe a patron) invited me in for a regular size drink! I had to decline because my son is underage and we were extremely tired, but I can't stop worrying that I sounded like I didn't like the place and/or the drink. The truth is this place is GREAT. We went around 5:30pm on a weekend and snagged the last two bar seats, otherwise there was a slight wait. The bartender was friendly and made excellent cocktails. We started with the truffle parmesan chips which were so tasty and layered with toppings and flavors. My husband had the Italian pork sandwich and is still talking about it days later. I had the Bleu Gruyère burger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time! So delicious with the perfect amount of bleu cheese. The ambiance and vibe is more modern and upscale, menu is smaller, and so is the space. We started with the house truffle chips and hot beer cheese, both were very good. Almost everyone at our table got the Krueger's Burger. It was good, but not as amazing as I remembered. Maybe the surrounding restaurants have stepped up their burger game while Krueger's was closed, who knows. I miss the vibes and atmosphere of the old Krueger's, it was more casual and easy going. Krueger's has returned, and it's like they've never left. We hopped in one afternoon during that week between Christmas and NYE when you're really not sure what day of the week it is. We arrived around 4:45 snagged a table and watched the rest of the vacant tables abs seats at the bar quickly fill up. (Recommend reservations) I ordered a cocktail - the Matacumbe which is a mixture of rum and tropical citrus juices. Tasty! We started our meal by sharing an order of Mac And cheese made with a blend of sharp cheddar and gjetost cheeses. I'll save you a trip to google and tell you gjetost is a very sweet Norwegian goat cheese and is pronounced YAY-toast, which makes me want to run over to The Rhined and order some just so I can say gjetost. Anyhoo, about that Mac n cheese.... Deeeeeelightful. The thick spiral noodles are the perfect vessels to carry the saucy and creamy cheese from the little cast iron crock to your face. I think the gjetost is also sprinkled on the top of the dish and browned. I can't confirm this, but that's my guess. The theme of the night was inadvertently cheese because I ordered a the Raclette Grilled Cheese (you know, getting in all the carbs and cheese before a new year's round of the Whole30). The BF went with the Krueger Burger which is a double cheese burger and really enjoyed it (and prompted a whole conversation about dijionaisse as it's one of the sauces on it). The cheese was literally oozing out of the two thick slices of grilled bread. Swiss and raclette cheese tend to be on the milder side, so I wish there was a little more bite to the cheeses... because the port wine red onion jam is the jam and would've popped even more with a sharper cheese. We also split an order of French fries which were a good accompaniment to our sandwiches. All and all a good experience. Would recommend. read more

Delicious dishes all around. The service and ambiance were pretty nice, and they treat you well here. I have a habit of getting a veg dish with a meat dish now. The roasted beets looked really interesting to me, and they nailed it. The goat cheese with the crushed pistachio and roasted beets all came together well. I enjoy dining at Krueger's. I would describe it as an elevated bar and scene, and the food and cocktails are consistently good. Driving my trip last night were the Oysters Rockefeller, the kale salad and and the martini service. When I arrived, I opted for the Rocky Marciano (Manhattan vibes) instead of the Martini Service because I craved a sweeter cocktail. As expected, the bartender executed the drink with precision. So good. I am a habitual kale salad lover, and Kruegers' is simple yet favorable. The housemade lemon vinagrette and croutons both make my taste buds sing. Lastly, I tried their Oysters Rockefeller for the first time. I would have enjoyed it more had they been served warmer and had a bit more heat to them. I realize I am a bit particular when it comes to adding heat so tabasco or regular hot sauce takes away from the dish, in my opinion. If Chef creates an infused habanaro oil or dried chili flakes, my life at Krueger's will be complete. Cheers! read more

Krueger's Tavern is right in the heart of OTR over by Washington Park, and I absolutely love the Krueger's burger from here! Last night was my second time going in, as my friend hadn't been before and we were already in the area, so we decided to walk over. We were seated right away in a booth, and we had a great server take care of us (I unfortunately can't remember her name, but she was incredibly kind). The restaurant itself is a bit on the smaller side, so it is likely packed on weekends! For that reason I would suggest considering a reservation if it's a Friday or Saturday. To start off, I ordered a paloma and my friend got one of their beers on draft. The paloma at Krueger's is delicious! As a tequila fan, I would recommend this one to others who are similar. Apparently they were doing a deal for a "shot of the night" as well, which was a green tea shot. That was also very good as my friend and I decided to try it, because why not! For an appetizer, we split the beer cheese and pretzels, which is one of my favorites--so good. I ordered the Krueger's burger with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese here is exceptionally good, as it comes with breadcrumbs on top. Would highly recommend! We had a great experience here and will definitely be back. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. As I mentioned, our server last night was awesome, and really sold the five-star experience.
