Pardon the nighttime flash photos, but getting to sit in their backyard patio on one of the last nights of the summer was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Can't even fathom how I have not discovered this place before!!! A must-try and on a good-weather day, absolutely sit in the outdoor garden - deliciousness is all that comes to mind; everything from the blood orange mimosas and one of the best cups of coffee I've had! to the salt cod croquettes and the risotto balls, to the chicken and the egg (omg that liver pate!) and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The staff are super friendly and the food is a party for your mouth at every bite! Would love to try this place for dinner and will absolutely return for brunch. read more

My husband and I came here in late October for our anniversary dinner and have also taken out coffee. We really enjoyed the food, particularly the chicken nuggets with honey, and the cocktails were amazing. My only complaint was that the heat lamps weren't quite strong enough, and we were pretty cold. We'll have to come back in the spring! read more

I've been here several times and can't say enough good things about it. Yes, it's worth all the hype. The food is stellar, flavors are sophisticated, more on the high end side, yet the atmosphere is so casual and waitstaff super friendly. This place is a nice unpretentious foodie's haven! Lovely neighborhood restaurant and super yummy! I salivated over pretty much the entire menu. Everything sounds deliciously elegant and comforting, with lots of healthy (and vegetarian-friendly) options - just my kind of place. My friend and I ended up splitting shishitos, arugula salad, and the rainbow cauliflower and quinoa croquette dish with harissa labne that was as beautiful as it was delicious. They have some creative beers and even rosè on tap! Plus a nice wine list. Not cheap, but definitely worth a slight splurge. We sat at the bar early on a Sunday evening. In early June, the sun at that time happened to shine in and hit the bar in a gorgeous way, but I was glad I had my sunglasses (and too happy to move) because it was quite glaring for a while and they don't have curtains or anything. Having had Krupa on my radar for a while after reading so many (well-deserved) stellar reviews, I had thought it would be tough to get a table without a reservation, but it never got packed (gotta love Windsor Terrace) but it is obviously a neighborhood favorite, and I'd say it's worth the destination for those not so lucky to live nearby. read more

I was pleased with every part of my meal here, from the light Finger Lakes Rosé on tap, to the unique appetizer of English and sugar snap peas with wild strawberries and ricotta (summer on a plate), the substantial entrees (in my case, a lamb burger, perfectly cooked to my specifications; in my friend's case, the P.E.I. mussels in a spicy broth with fresh toasted bread), the addictive side of salt and pepper fingerling potatoes, and the pleasant service. read more

Lamb burger (4.5 stars): 2 thin-ish patties of juicy lamb with cheese and pesto. One of the best LMH burgers we've had in a while. Mussels (4.5 stars): huge pan of tender mussels in a mildly spicy broth with crunchy flora pops of szechuan peppercorns. Would reorder both of these and would love to try the shrimp burger next time. We got there for late brunch around 2:30pm on a Saturday. Plenty of seating inside and we were able to grab a seat in the outdoor patio. Great service and lovely ambience! read more

In the former lovely Indian newsstand, opened Krupa Grocery in their namesake. Around the corner from my former abode, magic happens in the kitchen. This is new Brooklyn and the best of it. As I was sitting waiting for my food, I watched the kitchen action and just knew, this would be special. The menu is varied and eclectic. Brazino- $28 Salt & vinegar potatoes- $10 Burnt sugar pot de crème $10 Brazino was bathed in chilies, vegetable stock served with preserved lemons and blistered tomatoes- complex & finger lickin' good. The potatoes were hot, salty & a bit naughty tasting of Spanish origins and a perfect co-plate. To finish the pot de crème with crème fraiche on top and a house made biscotti. Less crème fraiche would allow the butterscotch notes of this lovely desert to shine through and the great bite of the housemade biscotti. One suggestion would be to serve bread from Brooklyn, there is so much greatness locally and put it on the table, cause with a $28 main, bread should be automatic otherwise, this restaurant is far more than a local spot! read more

My friend and I stopped by for Sunday brunch. It was busy but we were seated quickly which was nice. I ordered a coffee and they had ALMOND milk which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Kudos! We had the plate of meat with some different pickles, eggs pickled in beet juice with pate, and random yumminess and a salad to start. We ordered the ricotta pancakes and pork belly in grits for our mains. The food was great! I already love ricotta pancakes but these came with a rhubarb jam which I never had before but really made them stand out. The pork belly and grits were delicious as well. The pork belly still had some of the fat on it and it just melted in your mouth. I think this place is new so it's great that the place fits the area and food is awesome. We've been to Krupa twice now. It's one of my partner's favorite breakfast spots. It's has a pleasantly lit interior, which good morning light thanks to some big storefront windows. The layout of the place is long so some bar seating and bar two tops make it more likely for you to get a table if you are a table for two. They did have few bigger tables in the back and an outdoor section that I didn't see. PROS We had a blood mary, almond milk latte, lemon ricotta pancakes and the eggs and toast with smoked goat cheese, asparagus and tomato. We enjoyed most of it with the most notable things being the drinks and the combo of flavors on the toast. Asparagus was cooked just tender enough but not mushy or tough, cut slim to make it easy to eat. Eggs were a perfect sunny side up. Espresso had that lovely chocolatey taste you get from a good pull. CONS The lemon ricotta pancakes were pretty boring. They were $14 and not particularly lemony and really none of the ricotta came across in flavor or the texture. It was served with a very modest dollop of compote for the giant stack of three pancakes. Finally, it's served with a small cup of syrup and no butter. We did end up asking for butter and it helped some of the flavors pop so we suspected it was likely the salt in the butter that was needed. It was a good stack of cakes, cooked perfectly and nicely fluffy--but without the other flavors coming through, you kind of wondered why you spent $14 on a stack of cakes. (I have no doubt the pancakes had great ingredients, my recommendation is to make them sing a little more) MIXED BAG Service is super friendly but once you get your meal, it can stall. Part of it may be the long layout of the establishment and the fact that the servers are also the hostesses so if a rush comes in, they tend to be running around more. Overall thumbs up to Krupa. Nearly 4 yrs on and as good as ever. Interesting drinks, excellent beer and wine, Irving Farm coffee and always delicious food. Struggle not to get the mussels with spicy lamb broth or whatever perfectly cooked steak with marrow they've got, though other great choices in the farro salad, lamb burger or their variation on gnocchi. Can't go wrong w brunch either as my kids could eat the lemon pancakes all day. Impeccable croissant never hurts either. So lucky to have in my hood and so glad they've kept the mussels unchanged all these years. read more

The minute we walked in we knew we had made the right decision for brunch....great atmosphere, super friendly staff, and every single plate on every table looked phenomenal. Of course we were here on a mission...lemon ricotta pancakes. Ever since having insanely good lemon ricotta pancakes at Plow in San Francisco (good enough to choose instead of breakfast at Dotties which is saying a lot) we have been on the desperate search for an NYC equivalent. Today we finally met Plow's match...but I am getting ahead of myself. First things first I have to mentions their Bloody Mary...it is big an phenomenal and extremely reasonable at $9. It is the first Bloody Mary I have had that can match recently closed Applewoods. It is perfectly balanced and not bitter. You can tell they use quality ingredients. And unlike many places that try to serve you $12 mediocre 8oz bloody Mary's (yes I am talking to you Mayfield and Colonie) this is a serious 16oz Bloody Mary. The coffee is also really excellent as well AND they actually give you refills...a real test given how rare it is these days. On top of that they even gave my wife a refill on her decaf Americano. It is small things like that that really stick out these days. Okay so onto the food. Obviously we got the pancakes which were incredibly moist and light and fresh...and of course served with proper real maple syrup (they don't give you enough syrup but don't hesitate to give you more when you ask...which given the cost of real maple syrup I don't blame them). While Luluc still holds crown for best pancake (which is almost a donut at their place), this place now holds the crown for best Lemon Ricotta pancake in my book. As you have to balance out a stack of pancakes with a protein infusion (else end up collapsing from the sugar crash), we got the lamb burger (although it was really tough to decide on that as the shrimp burger looked great too). The lamb burger was also phenomenal...real fresh and topped with the perfect balance of pickles and some secret sauce. Really excellent. Make sure to get the fried fingerling potatoes...also really good. The whole experience was just top notch across the board. Made me wish it was Saturday instead of Sunday so I could repeat the whole experience again tomorrow. Finally they get major props for not being cash only and taking Amex. I also like how bill automatically has calculation for total if splitting it...a really nice touch that just further reinforces this place has their act together. We will definitely be back very soon to try dinner. read more

Krupa is a local favorite. Located in Windsor Terrace Brooklyn, it offers all day breakfast until 5pm & an upscale menu (see menu photo). Another nice feature is the lovely outdoor seating area located in the back of the restaurant. The hot food is excellent - their potatoes blew me away, some of the best ever! But the salad was sub-par, the lettuce wasn't fresh (see my photos of the wilted sad looking lettuce leaf and the one with dark mysterious spots). The dressing lacked flavor & didn't help. I didn't complain -- the waiter was so sweet & kind. I thought about requesting another salad, but decided to go to another restaurant. After hearing so many great things about Krupa, I left feeling disappointed. read more

All day brunch! Say no more. Loved every dish served. We ordered the blistered shishitos ($7.5) and crispy wings ($7.5) for apps. My entree was the house cured salmon ($13)- don't order this if you want to be neat. It was messy but had a good medley of flavors complimenting the goat cheese and smoked salmon. I was with close friends and didn't mind eating like a savage with the runny egg and dripping hot pink liquids of the beets. Food menu doesn't offer masses of choices which is perfect as it's somehow less confusing when it comes to picking your food. Fun restaurant and fun food! We visited twice during our recent visit to Park Slope, once for dinner and once for lunch. There's a lot of overlap between the two menus -- several dishes are offered all day. It's fun to go with a group and share because the offerings are varied and delicious, and there's a nice selection of snack plates. For dinner, we shared spicy boiled peanuts, blistered shishitos, risotto balls, and chicken liver pate. Individually, we ordered (and passed around tastes) the lamb burger, papparadelle bolangnese (OMG! So yummy!), flat-iron steak and PEI mussels. Two of us went for brunch and ordered several things, with the idea of taking some home: a single lemon-ricotta pancakes, green eggs and ham, bacon-egg-and-tomato sandwich, and the addictive fingerling fries. This was my first time visiting Krupa. A friend finished a race today in NYC and we celebrated by hitting this brunch spot near Prospect Park. It was a HIT! The Breakfast Gnocchi was fantastic and unlike anything else I have ever had. The creamy, perfect balance of sweet and salty was delicious. The bacon on the side was crispy as well. Was in the area with a big group and needed some brunch grub. It was a beautiful day and we stumbled into Krupa Grocery as they had an open back space to sit outside. I had a mason jar of bloody mary ($9) which was decent but not much to it. It didn't come with celery or any typical green either, just a small wedge of lemon. They also offer several craft beer taps and local wines. The wings appetizer were crispy and tender with a creamy sauce likened to a mini soup on the side. 7 wings per order ($11) sprinkled with some greens, shaved radish, and shishito peppers. However, the food was explained as it being a la carte so the mains did not come with any sides. However, they portion the sides larger for sharing. It was great for a group but not so sure about coming here if I lived in the neighborhood by myself due to this odd setup.The salt/vinegar and curry fingerling potatoes side was $7 and tasty but as I said, portioned as a side enough for 2 or 3 to share. The skate po'boy sandwich was the star of the show. Crispy and flaky, topped with pickles and a remoulade sauce with a new pickle on the side is just an explosion of flavor and perfect for a warm spring weekend. The food was fresh and inventive with a breezy outdoor seating with a full view of the the above tenants dry their underwear along the clothesline is kind of very "Brooklyn." Along with its great location by the park and friendly service it is a place I would like to check out again when I am in the area. read more

Mixed cocktails are awesome (be adventurous and try the Wendy Peppercorn) and beer on tap is great too (my boyfriend got a beer with "Flower Power" in the name and it was very good). Salted cod croquettes are like your favorite childhood fish-sticks amped up x1000. They are classy, but oh so tasty. Beet salad is also great. That fresh ricotta is something else! Very pretty, but unfortunately falls (very) flat. Drinks: Watery Irving farm drip Good cappuccino Hot chocolate tasted like it was from a packet, but had a lovely presentation The kombucha on tap was a bit heavy on the vinegar flavor but otherwise pretty decent (not too sweet). Food: Salt cod croquettes were way too chewy and low on salt cod flavor. Gnocchi was gelatinous and not really interesting, missing flavor. I recommend adding some spices and frying the gnocchi up, breadcrumbs didn't fix the issue. Also, add a bit of pecorino and more greens. Lamb burger was decent, too much bun and too much vinegar. Good meat though. Shrimp burger seemed ok, too much bread (the Pablo plus the thick bun) The lemon ricotta pancake was pretty good. Nice toppings, the best dish we had. We got a side of their potatoes. Interesting concept with the smashed fried fingerlings but also lacked flavor. Would be great with some garlic, rosemary, and black pepper. Service: Good, attentive waitress. Fast with getting us a table and getting our orders through. Ambiance: Chic brunch spot, comfortable and modern. Would I recommend this place to my friends? I wholeheartedly agree with all that has been said about Krupa G. Today was my initial return since the pandemic began. The last time I was there was Friday the 13th of March in 2020 directly before the lockdown began. I frequented Krupa Grocery as a perfect place to end a tough week at work and became somewhat of a Friday regular. Well, today was the day of my return and I must say, I felt completely unsafe. I was definitely taken back by the lack of consideration that there is an actual pandemic going on with people STILL losing their lives. The staff (with the exception of the busboy) walked around maskless. They stood over your table, took your order, served your food and drinks all with no face covering. Their job also requires that they speak, again, NO MASK! Were they vaccinated? Who knows? Were they positive to the virus? Again, who knows? Every time a server came to my table, my friend and I did not know what to do. We kept reaching for our masks, but by the time we got them securely in place the person was already there. It was a very uncomfortable experience. Since the bar/restaurant has not accepted the fact that WE would ALL like to move on from this COVID nightmare by doing what is necessary (keep each other safe) my friend and I decided rather quickly that we would not be going any where near Krupa Grocery until we feel we can do it safely without feeling the need to test directly afterward. If there is anything that we have learned, pretending that this is not going on is not working. We have to meet it head on by doing our part. Krupa Grocery is refusing to do that! We'll be happy return when it is safe, and restore the star rating, but right now your lack of action and unsafe eating establishment puts you at a one. read more
