I will forever dream of the delicious roasted spaghetti squash toast. I almost took the empty plate and licked off the rest of the garlic confit spread. I could eat that toast for the rest of my life and be happy. Absolutely delicious. Chill spot with really nice touches, like the cymbal lights. Nice and diverse wine and beer menus. Service was slow( it was crowded) and I ordered 2 scrambled eggs with toast. The eggs were overcooked(brown) and the toast was dry. My gf ordered the green eggs and ham which comes with eggs sunny side up. They were also overcooked as the yoke was hard. I usually have a good experience here but not today. read more

Finally made it here for brunch, after months of walking by and seeing people swooning over their food through the window. I was surprised and happy that there was no wait for my party of two around 1pm on a weekend. The servers were clearly very busy, but were attentive. I ordered the apple walnut pancakes, after a long period of deliberation because the menu was so appealing. The cooked apple and candied walnut topping was unexpected and was sweet without being too dessert-like. It was fresh and carefully cooked, not like the over stewed fruits you often find topping pancakes. The pancakes themselves were the perfect texture- somehow fluffy and chewy, but also melting in your mouth. The stack was too huge for me to finish. My friend tried the gnocchi/eggs Benedict dish. It was a very rich brunch dish, but the portion overwhelming (like the pancakes). I tried some gnocchi and they were great - soft and tender, but not gummy. A very specific compliment - I really liked the pickles this place uses in their burgers. I think it really gives them that extra something. This is especially true for the Nashville Shrimp Panko Burger (4.5/5)- the tartness of the pickles really complements the slight spiciness of the shrimp. Cabbage slaw and chive aioli also worked really well on the burger. I wasn't as big a fan of the Double Stack Lamb Burger unfortunately (3.5/5), mainly because I thought the goat gouda was too strong. Then again, I'm very sensitive and find a lot of cheeses to be overwhelming so it might just be me. The herb aioli and tomato jam on the sandwich were very good, I think I would really enjoy it if I had asked them not to include cheese. Service was friendly. read more

Came here for lunch with a friend. At first glance, I thought the lunch menu was sort of limited, but there are plenty of options, that made it easier for me to make up my mind. The grilled cheese was one of the best I've ever had (I'm still thinking about the bacon jam...), and my friend liked her breakfast gnocchi as well. Still excellent ! This time tried the Breakfast Gnocchi, Panko crusted shrimp burger ( my first shrimp burger ever) - it had seaweed salad topping Divine! Again got the fingerling potatoes - looks like its skillet smashed. Amazing - but a touch too salty Overall love the food here but do wish they would go easy on the salt. To start my review out, I absolutely love their Shishito, it is my favorite thing on the menu! When I first got there with my family, we were seated, and we started to order, my dad decided on ordering something called Shishito, I didn't know what it was at first but then when I ate one, my mouth was like a firework! My first experience trying Krupa was takeout during Covid. We got the arugula salad, country toast with ricotta, sweet basil pesto, and crispy prosciutto, spicy fried shrimp burger, and chicken wings. Everything was sooo tasty and delicious, cooked to perfection and flavorful! The chicken wings came with some shishito peppers which were also a nice surprise! My best friend frequents here and says everything is absolutely delectable. I submitted my order through GrubHub and it was prepared promptly. The man at the counter was also extremely friendly! Don't be fooled, this is not a grocery store despite the name. It's a diner/cafe with strange hipster food. And the food is VERY good. I ordered the salmon with risotto. Every part of it was delicious except for the salmon itself, which was a bit overdone. I would order it rare or medium rare next time. And for how much food you get, the price was pretty reasonable. You can go to fancy italian restaurants and pay $10-15 extra for the same quality food. The coffee was surprisingly good. This place exceeded expectations! We went for dinner at 5pm on a Saturday and it was already bustling with people hanging around from the happy hour ($2 off wine/beer) until 7 and after 10. We got the cocktails-- they were well balanced, no complaints. The inside is charming and it appeared they also have a backdoor patio which would be nice in the summer. Food wise, we ordered the house cured salmon toast with beets and smoked goat cheese, lamb burger, and farro quinoa salad, all of which were great, but we especially enjoyed the burger. Everything complimented each other really nicely, from the very juicy slightly gamey taste of the meat to the goat cheese gouda, herb aioli and pickles with flavors of dill. I'm not even a dill fan but I wouldn't change a thing. We ended with the brown sugar pot de creme which had a deep molasses flavor that was offset by tangy creme fraiche (tasted homemade) and small but tasty biscotti cookies, which had pistachios and maybe tasted fennel seed? What a pleasant surprise! I happened to be in Brooklyn unexpectedly on a Saturday and was looking for a great option for lunch to meet up with a friend. I made a reservation just in case but we decided to eat at the bar. I kicked things off with a Spicy Bloody Mary which I truly enjoyed. I also decided on the Nashville Hot Shrimp Burger with a side of the salt & vinegar & curry fingerlings. All I can say is "wow" and definitely the right choice. I'm still thinking about the Shrimp Burger now. For a second cocktail I decided to go with the tequila based Pepino Picante. I asked their wonderful bar staff if they could add jalapeño to kick it up a notch. We ended up loving the place so much we ended up staying long enough to enjoy a second meal. Some may be embarrassed but I say that's a win. I went with the Double Stack Lamb Burger. Another great choice I just say. If I'm ever in Brooklyn looking for a great meal and great service, Krupa Grocery would definitely be my go to! read more

Came here for lunch with 2 friends who live in Park Slope. It was so so good. I got the country toast with ricotta, pesto, and prosciutto and the white gazpacho. Both were amazing. The toast was beautiful and the prosciutto was perfectly crunchy. The soup was also really special and interesting, I loved the acidic pop of the grapes in it. Stumbled upon this cute spot while exploring Prospect Park West. We stopped in for a drink and were very pleased! We sat at the bar. They have a variety of drinks on tap such as beer, wine, iced coffee, etc. I ordered a red blend on tap and loved it! The wine is slightly chilled. On Saturday their happy hour was until 7 and it was $2 off all drinks. There was great music playing and the restaurant was relatively quiet and calm. Their menu looked good for brunch and dinner. They also have a deal for a pitcher of margaritas for $20 on Mondays. I would like to come back for more wine and a meal! read more

I am not sure why people love this place so much. It must be because there's such a dearth of good food in WT that people just settle for overpriced mediocrity. I've given Krupa several tries and they have never impressed me with their food. The menu is not that varied (lots of burgers and sandwiches), everything seems heavy, and there are few options for those that want something fresh and seasonal. Last night I had the steak - I ordered it medium rare. It was both too rare and burnt at the same time. This indicates a lack of care with the cooking. My rosé was also room temperature, which on a sweltering day is not very enjoyable. I want to support local businesses but this one is just not worth it. The only upside is that their COVID protocols are excellent. They adapted well to the challenging times. read more

Stopped in for a happy hour beer and snack. Sat in the outdoor patio, which was covered to keep out the rain. Was comfortable, spacious, and had some nice flowers/plants. The Allagash White on tap tasted great as always, and the snack of fried fingerling potatoes was awesome! Krupa Grocery is a special little spot tucked away right under Prospect Park. Sleek, elegant, but still cozy. My favorite spot is sitting out in their backyard, especially on warm summer or cool fall evening. Food is spot on. I'd recommend getting the fondue for two or the ricotta country toast. Hits the spot without overfilling you. As for the entrees, any of the pasta dishes satisfy to perfection. I don't normally get pasta dishes when I'm out at restaurants because it's so overpriced when you can make gourmet pasta at home for 1/4 of the price. But Krupa does something special with their dishes and the flavor combo is always outstanding. My favorite ricotta gnocchi -- but always take a peak at their pasta specials. One summer I had a fantastic spinach linguini dish that had a flavorful kick of heat to it. It's all pretty satisfactory. I'd only knock it down to a four star, because some of the other entrees/appetizers are just so/so. Really my only complaint is that it can get a bit crowded inside (pre-COVID days), so when you go you'll likely need a reservation. It's always a solid choice for dinner though. read more

Everything I've eaten here is great. The shrimp burger and mussels are my favorites.

Appetizers were delicious. Service was very good. My entree was exceptionally bad though. I had the chicken fried tofu. It came with Fried Farro, fried pineapple, and "chili garlic crunch". Other than the pineapple, nothing had even an ounce of flavor and the chili garlic crunch was nothing more than what looked like charred scrapings off the grill. The only flavor was burnt. Tofu was dry and again had no flavor. I was really disappointed with the entree. We were being treated to dinner by friends who raved about the place, so I did not want to complain or send it back but the Chicken fried tofu dish was an absolute zero for me.
