The appointment felt forced, and the interaction lacked warmth and genuine customer care. The quality and attention to detail did not reflect what I would expect for the price. The most upsetting part was the final amount, which came out to over $700. This cost was not clearly communicated beforehand, and there was no finalized or agreed-upon price before the service began. At one point, I was even asked what I thought the price should be, rather than being given a clear quote. Despite that, the final charge was significantly higher than expected and not supported by a detailed breakdown. For services at this level, transparency and pricing clarity are extremely important. I was also told that a hair care mask would need to be picked up on a different day because it was not in stock at the time of my daughter's hair services. However, when I first asked in person about booking an appointment, the conversation was redirected. When I followed up via phone, my call was ignored and it wasn't the first time, the same happened on my first appointment. During my appointment, the stylist discussed personal conflicts involving the neighboring business, Mother's Kitchen, which I had been curious to visit. She shared that a package meant for her was mistakenly delivered to the neighboring business, taken home by the owner's daughter, and opened. She then continued speaking negatively about the neighboring business owner. She also made repeated comments about clients from her husband's work field and expressed personal frustrations about them. Hearing negative remarks and personal dynamics unrelated to my service felt inappropriate and contributed to an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. Due to the lack of pricing clarity, follow-through, and unresolved concerns, I disputed the charge with my bank, and the dispute was resolved in my favor. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, not only because of the unexpected $700+ charge, but also due to the lack of communication, professionalism, and customer-focused care throughout the experience. In addition to my concerns about the service itself, I have been very disappointed by the way I was treated afterward. The stylist reposted my first service of my hair since 2024 on social media tagged with a hate song, including content showing my face during the second service. After seeing the posts, I contacted her multiple times and respectfully requested that the content be removed. My messages were delivered, but I received no response and the posts remained online. As a customer, I found this upsetting and disrespectful. I believe customers deserve professionalism, respect, and clear communication both during and after a service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

And, the products that are sold here are indeed overpriced, you can find a better price at a store like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. The hair that they sell for wigs, sew-in's etc. is also poor quality. A lot of time I regret my purchase after coming here. FYI, you cannot legally require a customer to provide ID when completing a purchase, Visa and Mastercard prohibit this. That's a wild, discriminatory practice. If they ask, tell them no, and they still have to complete the purchase. To the owner: How can you morally profit from a predominantly Black customer base, while remaining ignorant of their hair care needs and simultaneously discriminate against them? Overall, it's a weirdly isolating and aggravating experience shopping here, but sadly, it's the most convenient when in a pinch.
