Staff was unruly and that didn't bother me as much, but the food gave me horrendous heartburn. I felt like I was choking on acid. I drank a little that night but not very much. There is a reason why this is located at the end of Bourbon Street at Canal. Because as you are drunkenly stumbling off Bourbon Street, you may need to soak up the alcohol. This will do it. Carbs (the bun) and the questionable meat inside will do just that. I only make this mistake when I have been drinking and since I rarely go to the Quarter, let alone Bourbon street any more, I rarely eat here. Which is probably for the best. Several drunk people who appear starved (the way we were yelling you would think we never ate) We were all staying at the Monteleone or the Hyatt so naturally we ended up here. The bun was very soft and fluffy; the patty was juicy. Anyone can easily eat 3 or 4 of these sliders in one sitting. The chilli cheese dogs are also tasty. Like the burgers, you can't go wrong. Also in small bites sizes, the wings are decent. It was a bit aalty for my liking but still good. I will definitely visit another Krystal for my burger fix especially when it's open 24 hours a day! As I wait, I grab my fountain drink and check out the interior. With a second floor in this Krystal, it must do some serious business. I get my sack and grab a seat by a street window, yum! Same great soft little sliders with just a bit of mustard and ketchup. The chili-cheese fries are also up to snuff so I'm a happy boy. While it's not cheap at near $10, I'm guessing that's the going rate on Bourbon Street for lunch. And I hear they do a $3.99 breakfast which can save you some dough. If you're hungry for sliders or wanting to watch a fight or be in a fight ...this is the place to go after a night on Bourbon St. We stopped in on our way out of the French Quarter for some cheeseburger & chicken sliders to go. Note: If it's earlier than 10pm, or you're over 60yrs old... you're too early and tired for this place. I kept calling the place McDowells ( Coming to America ) sliders. They have bits and pieces from other places. You order and wait for your number. Theres a couple of tables where you can wait for your number to be called. If you're thirsty, there's a guy that just rolled up into the entry way, with a yard glass daquiri biz. He set up his station with bottles of booze sitting on a folding table to add in the drink. It's 10$ for a yard glass and you pick your shots you want added. There's also 2 girls with an edibles wagon on the curb. It's a one stop shop for "the kids"... The chicken sandwiches were pretty good, but the burgers were just ok. Loud, drunk & fast food is what Ms Krystal has to offer. read more

The burger "meat" (if you can call it meat) is a weird grayish purple color. I was hesitant to eat it but at 3am, when you are hungry, you go against good judgement. Sadly, 3 of us got sick the next morning. It seriously sucks getting sick when you are on vacation. I would avoid eating here unless you got a strong stomach. I personally love Krystal. I always have. I love the concept of little burgers with cheese, onions, pickles and mustard. It is also the perfect drunk food. My husband and I came here two nights in a row after drinking on Bourbon. One night I was drunk and the other I wasn't. Lol. One of the nights we came, it was New Year's Day morning at like 2:00 am. I can say this Krystal is fast, nice and convenient. The staff was super friendly and although it was packed the second night we came they got people in and out. There was no confusion, mess or attitudes. Their operation and flow of service ran pretty smoothly. I'm here for this Krystal. Most of the places we like were closed or blocked by a street performance. Others in the area were out of our price range. That left Krystal, at 116 Bourbon Street. We have Krystals at home, sometimes decent, but basically a White Castle wannabe. We looked over the menu lying on the counter, placed our order, and laid our money out. The cashier just glared at us. I repeated the price she had just said. She nodded. I had placed more and enough to cover it, but she refused to pick it up. I asked her what was wrong, and she said, "You put it on the counter. Put it in my hand." Right then, if they had not already placed our drinks on the counter (Instead of in our hands, if you notice), I would have walked out. And should have We paid almost $30 for four sorry beef sliders, two chicken sliders, two medium fries and two colas. That meal in my youth would have been about $3, and today might be worth $15. There was no seating downstairs, so we went to the second floor to find that the tables had not been cleaned and there was grafitti on the walls. My chicken was passable but fell apart. The Cokes were watery, and the beef sliders had a small bit of onions along one edge, one small pickle, and a beef patty that tasted like it had been frozen for several days. The fries were the only part worth paying for, but they weren't worth $3 each. We bagged up one of the fries, two untouched beef sliders, some mustard and ketchup and salt, and a handful of napkins and a plastic fork, and when we met a fellow swapping beads for tips at the door, we gave the bag to him and told him to find someone who was starving. We would have given it to a homeless person ourselves, but were afraid they would look at the bag and throw it at us. Most of the restaurant employees in NOLA have been excellent. But this encounter, and another in a separate review, have guaranteed that I will not return to two businesses. If the cashier didn't want the cash on the counter, she should have said so. If the counter was too filthy for her to touch, it is her job to clean it. If you are the front person of a company and you want to be rude, realize that your domineering attitude reflects on the chain restaurant, and might cause someon to stay away from that brand for life. If this happens enough the chain closes. So if you hate your job, don't worry, it's gone. read more

The Krystal chain,is the south's version of White Castle. It's fascinating to me that these two chains, with nearly identical concepts, sprang up at the same time in different parts of the country; it's also fascinating that one hasn't gobbled up the other. White Castle is still family owned, Krystal was swallowed by a private equity group, so it's the latter that has the cash these days. I like both chains, and since they rarely overlap in the same market, I get to patronize both equally, depending on where I am in the country. This location is strategically placed at the entrance / exit to Bourbon Street, is open 24/7 and their slider burgers are perfect to soak up excessive Hurricanes. They have breakfast sandwiches in the morning, charge $3.00 to use their bathroom (or a purchase) and also have an ATM. It's a relaxing place (most times) to sit and stare out the window at the Bourbon Street crowd. I'm thinking four burger sliders is the right amount for breakfast. And I'm always right. read more

NASTY and HORRIBLE! I used to go this Krystal location on Bourbon St long ago when I lived in the French Quarter. Today it's gone downhill. I went on a Wednesday afternoon to get some quick lunch. First of all, this location now serves "hard" liquor plus beer n daiquiris so I was surprised. 10 years ago, they never sold alcohol. I ordered some Krystal burgers and fries. I noticed the grill was not being used, but I saw some food debris all over the grill n floor. It was NOT well maintained n cleaned especially since its in full display for customers. Anyway, they dropped down the fries in the fryer but I didn't see anyone "cooking" any burgers at all. I questioned if the grills were working, and the lady said yes. The next minute, she walks over to the microwave oven n pulls out my Krystal burgers. I was shocked! In the old days, they would cook the burgers on the grills but she pulled my food out of a microwave oven. I was so hungry so I had to eat n it was nasty.
