We were in Faubourg Marigny to hear some live jazz, and passed by this location of Willie's Chicken Shack. I can't say that any of us were particularly hungry, but we were intrigued by the colorful interior and DJ playing really, really loud music, so we decided we had to go in and try it. First, let me say that this place has me looking in every direction. At first glance it looks like a lot of graffiti art, but when you look closely there's some pretty cool things to see. I couldn't even tell you what the lighting fixtures were made of, but I know they are amazing! There's a second room with a DJ. The music was so loud we could hardly speak to each other but even though this is just fast food, somehow it just fit with this place. The two girls at the counter were less than friendly. Kind of felt like they thought they were doing us a favor taking our order. On the other hand, a young man came out to explain that we would have to wait 15 minutes for one of our orders, or he could just give us the white meat portion. He was very accommodating, helpful, and polite. They had several chicken meal choices to choose from, all served with fries and a really delicious biscuit. It was also traditional Cajun sides, like red beans and rice, that you can order, but we didn't get any. We were just ordering out of curiosity and we're hungry at all. There were a whole lot of mixed cocktail machines with pretty big selection that Frozen cocktails. We had been drinking all night and decided to pass. The chicken was fine. Honestly nothing to write home about. Same for the fries. This tasted like standard fast food chicken and fries. While the food was nothing special and maybe earns 3 stars, they definitely earn a star for the interior. This place is definitely a feast for the eyes, so I'm glad we stopped in.

Nothing stood out. The food was just alright and nothing more. It was bland. But I appreciate how hot it came out. We only ate here because it was relatively cheap compared to other restaurants in the area, and we wanted something quick. The 3 piece tender meal was bigger than I expected. Not that I even wanted to finish my portion. I hate wasting food, but I genuinely would rather my money go to waste than to finish my meal. And there was someone tweaking in the corner. I would say people probably come here for the daiquiris, but those were okay too. I guess if you're looking for mediocre food and drinks in the area, maybe you'll like this place. I mean you'll definitely fill up your stomach and get crunk, but don't expect to come to flavor town over here. The only reason I didn't give below 3 stars is because the place was clean, and the food was edible.

Not what I expected. The catfish was a good serving size, fried, but lacked flavor. That was disappointing. I expected more flavor. The biscuits were delicious. I love the honey butter on top. The fries were ok. They would have been better if they were crispier. On the other hand my husband got the fried chicken and he thought it was delicious. It was crispy, moist, and flavorful. I tried it and it was really good. They should have used the same flavoring with the cat fish. I even tried hot sauce on it and that didn't work. If you are looking for a good size chicken serving get the breast and wing. The breast was huge, the wing was tiny. I would not recommend the cat fish.

Famous where? Famous to who? Famous says who? This shit was so unseasoned.

They said this was the best chicken in New Orleans, but I beg to differ... The food seriously lacked seasoning. It was just fried bread wrapped around either chicken or catfish--no real flavor, just texture. The fries were good, mainly because they had some crisp and a hint of seasoning. Honestly, the biscuit ended up being the best thing in the box, which says a lot. I had the catfish combo, and I'm not even convinced that was actual catfish--it just tasted like fishy breading. My friends had chicken (one wings, one the white meat combo) and felt the same way: bland and underwhelming. I also got a large daiquiri and didn't taste a single drop of liquor. For the size I ordered, I should've felt at least something, but nothing. Same for my friends who got smaller ones. Total waste. I spent over $40 for a meal and drink that didn't deliver at all. To top it off, the customer service was awful. The young man at the counter acted like it was a burden to answer simple questions or hand us condiments--which, by the way, were oddly placed on the pizza side of the store, nowhere near where the actual real food is served. Makes no sense. The only bright spot was the guy cooking--he was solo in the back and clearly trying his best, so props to him. But it still doesn't make up for how mediocre everything else was. Maybe other Willie's locations are better, but this one was NOT it. If you're in the area and hungry early in the day, I get the temptation--but save your money and wait for somewhere better to open. Wouldn't go back. Wouldn't recommend.

Willie's Chicken Shack is alright with me!! The fried chicken tenders and the sweet buttery biscuits will have you dancing in your seat! The chicken tenders are more like a whole fried chicken breast and they win for that! There are lots of menu options but I decided to keep it simple. They also have the famous slushies here if that's something that you're into! Just like most of the places in Nawlins', the prices here are reasonable! The vibe at Willies is vibing! What's better than jamming to hip hop and sitting by a picture of lil Wayne while you devour your food? Not much. The employees here are also a vibe! Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there! Lots of good eats and photo ops at this location!! I'll be back if I'm in the area again!!

After leaving a jazz club on Frenchmen Street, my boyfriend asked me what I wanted to eat. It was late, I was a little buzzed, and all I could think about was chicken tendies. He was in the middle of telling me how we likely weren't going to find chicken tendies at that hour, when we walked by Willie's Chicken Shack -- and, as it says in the Bible, "it was so." We both ordered 3 piece meals... tendies, fries, and cornbread... and neither of us could resist the wall of daiquiris. The guy who took our order offered us samples, and even recommended mixing flavors. So, we settled on piña colada X mango, and neither of us was mad about it! Important detail: these slushies are largely Bacardi 151, so if you're not careful, you will turn into a slushy as well. Inside was a fun vibe, booths were a little sticky, but it felt appropriate. We also were treated to a flash-mob style brass band outside, which honestly made the experience even more memorable.

Artistic murals adorn this place all over the walls. It's very vibrant! And creates a cool ambiance. The atmosphere is equally matched with the tender chicken pieces done to perfection and tastes fresh. Kids had a good time eating here. The service was ok, and we had no issues.

Came here to grab some drinks. They have plenty of space and the food smells great. I got a frozen drink and it tasted good. Love the decor of the venue.

So its a good quick bite if you are visiting Bourbon street or frenchmen street in New orleans- Stays open till late- Food is good for snacking-Fries were great. Will always see traffic in and out of it. Fried chicken was among good ones in fast food joints.

Nicest Willie's in NOLA! I didn't catch his name, but there was a wonderfully friendly person managing the front register at this Willies. I'm kicking myself for not asking, but he was so helpful. Here's how.... I needed to put in an order that could feed 13 people, 2 of which were vegetarians. This gentleman put together the *ULTIMATE* order for 13 people. It worked out perfect and we got to taste a bunch of their offerings. My favorite of all the options was the Chicken Tenders. Each order gets you 3 pieces. Their are cajun-style fried strips, served with fries, that include a honey glazed biscuit and one dipping sauce. PRO-TIP: The dipping sauce options are: Ranch, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Tartar Sauce, Ketchup, and Hot Sauce. You can always ask for more, but some do have a small fee.

Came to Willie's for a late night meal after leaving a bar nearby in the Frenchmen area. This was my first time trying as I heard it is a NOLA staple. I got the Cajun wings (since that was all they had left for the night) and it came with a biscuit. It took a while for our food to come out because it was busy even at 1am. I ordered a daiquiri which was really delicious. The chicken did not disappoint! It was so good! I'd definitely go again when in NOLA!

If you've had a drink or two & are looking for something quick & good.. stop in! The chicken is always fresh & good! I only ever order a 2 piece meal but on my last two visits they have been sold out of chicken! That has forced me to try the tenders & wings which are good! Can't go wrong here for a late night snack!

This place is super laid back. The staff are super friendly. The chicken is amazing, seasoned to perfection. Perfect golden brown. The red beans and rice is a must get. The drinks here are also really good.

I had seen some news about them at some point, I love chicken wings, and it looked good. It's take out only. Not much to see besides the menu and the pictures of Adam and some other dudes. You can see the kitchen, little shotgun style place. I asked some questions about the sauce heat levels and ordered what he equated to medium regular buffalo I think. The names are strange to me. Just say Buffalo!!! Ugh. The wings were flavored very well, I liked the sauce a lot. The fries had a nice seasoning on them as well. The packaging absolutely ruined the food. It was all soaked when I opened it. That really sucked. It was about a 15 minute ride. They packed it in a wax lined, fully sealed box, similar to an Asian food box. It simply steamed the food while I drove. Bad move guys. I could not even eat the fries, they were just mush. Wings had a slight crispness in some spots after I left them open for 20 mins or so to dehydrate. As I said, the sauce was great so I did eat the wings. The wings are probably really good I bet if they were not ruined by the packing. 3 stars for the flavor. '26 - 96
