    Chicken 9. Satay Selection

Krystal Thai just wasn't very good. I've been so excited to swing by because it's the only Thai place in the general area (Crystal Lake). My Dad and I were starving so we went for dinner. The atmosphere is nice and authentic, but the seats are pretty painful. Our server was friendly but pretty absent. It was pretty crowded so that might have been why. The food was lackluster. The Strawberry Milk Tea was too icy. We ordered the Chicken Satay, which were decent but had no curry taste, instead they were sour like they had too much coconut milk. They also came out after our entrees did. My Dad's Red Curry was bland and watery, he hated it. My Rama Curry Noodles were pretty flavorful, but nothing spectacular. I don't think we will be back, which is sad because it's a cute place, but the service and food sucked.

When you first walk in you see how nicely decorated the restaurant is. The tables are very sturdy and beautiful and there are plenty of seating options. We received amazing service. We ordered appetizers: 2x pot stickers, and 2x shrimp dumplings and 1x crab rangoon! They were all delicious and perfectly prepared! There was instrumental music playing in the background and a tv with the sound off. They serve all sorts of alcoholic beverages. We were dining with family. My brother and sister in law ordered the #65 Pad Woon Sen (one ordered beef and one ordered chicken) and said they loved it and would order again! My nephew ordered #90 Krystal Chicken, it came with a bowl of white rice. He loved it and had some left over to take home for later! My husband ordered #60 Beef Pad Thai Noodles and said it was filling and delicious! I ordered # 40 Pho Soup with beef and meatballs and it was fresh and delicious! Better than I was expecting! I loved the meat it was the best I have tasted in a long time! When you order your food #1 is not spicy #3 is medium spicy and #5 is the spiciest they offer! So think about what your spice level is while your looking at the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our beverages full and they even have desserts if you can save enough room. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again! I highly recommend dining here when you want to impress someone and not break the bank!

Krystal Thai offers a delightful Thai dining experience. The restaurant's Thai cuisine is a definite highlight, with flavors that truly satisfy Thai food enthusiasts. The ambiance is notably neat and clean, providing a pleasant environment for diners. baby corns adds a delightful crunch. The Iced Thai tea is a refreshing beverage choice Additionally, their Thai Soup is a comforting option for those seeking a lighter start to their meal. Overall, Krystal Thai provides a well-rounded Thai dining experience, with delicious dishes, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere that's sure to please any Thai food lover. Price suits everyone pocket Indeed my favourite cuisine, will be compelled to visit again

We came here for an early evening meal. The air conditioning must not have been working inside initially but luckily as the restaurant got busier it started to working. We ordered Fresh Spring Rolls, Pad Thai Tofu, Pad Kee Mou Beef, Fried Banana Rolls, Coconut Sticky Rice with Ice Cream. There was a large amount of food per entree, I was able to pack half my entree for another meal. The Pad Thai flavor is not my personal favorite but it was still good - I prefer a sweeter sauce. The Pad Kee Mou noodles and beef were good but my fiancé got a level 3 spice but he didn't feel like that was spicy enough (which I could confirm I tried and wasn't spicy). There were jalapeños in the dish but the sauce itself was sweet and salty. We both loved the desserts. Service was great and food came out fast which was impressive because there was only one waitress working when we got to the restaurant. Our total came out to $48 for all the food above which is a great price!

Krystal Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp (spice level 4)

I have not been here for a number of years. My wife and I decided to have a casual Valentines dinner and we love it just as much as before. We started off with two appetizers: shrimp dumplings and their vegetable spring rolls. The dumplings were really good (it had been years since I had them) and the spring rolls are crispy little rolls of amazingness. I decided to get the Krystal Thai fried rice with shrimp (spice level 4). It was so good! Spice level caused my lips to go numb and I loved every second. The Krystal Thai Fried Rice is full of green peppers, red peppers, onions and some sort of sauce. To be honest, it was a great Valentines date place. It wasn't overcrowded, they were not running out of foods (their takeout business is considerable), and we ate wonderfully.

This restaurant may look ordinary from the outside, but it is far from it. The ambiance, the service and the food are exemplary. We stopped by because we were hungry and wanted something quick like an appetizer. The sampler appetizer @ 10.00 had eggrolls, chicken satay, cucumber salad, crab Rangoon and shrimp money bags. Came out piping hot and delicious. We were pretty full but decided to order an entree to try and probably take home for dinner. My husband had Jungle curry - he asked for spicy and he got spicy. He loved it but needed a lot of napkins. I had basil fried rice with beef. It was spot on yummy. We will return to Krystal Thai soon. As we were walking to our car our waitress came running out with a big smile on her face and the credit card I had left on the table.

Yellow curry had frozen peas, corn & carrots in it (that was a first for me) and jalapeños for the spice cooked in it. Who is cooking this?
    Nicole C.

Horrible. Everything tastes the same. No originality no flavor. The veggie yellow curry had frozen corn peas and carrots in it? That's a first for me! And jalapeños???? My hubby's beef massaman curry has 2 peanuts in it and the beef was not tender beef. Chicken pad Thai had only 2 pieces of meat in it and was brown and tasted like the peanut sauce from the satay we had! Not like pad Thai. I don't know who is cooking these recipes? But their not following Thai recipes. Not at all such a disappointment especially after spending $100 for take out. And the curry noodles were not even edible they were over cooked mush.

The curry was flavorful, packed with veggies and chicken, and paired so nicely with the fluffy white rice. We also got the pad woon sen, and it had a nice wok hei flavor; the noodles were bouncy and paired well with the hot sauce on the table as well. Lastly, we got the mango sticky rice for dessert, and they give you SO MANY MANGOES. The rice was sweet, and you had enough mangoes to pair it with every single bite of rice. The service was good; they always made sure to check in on us and even brought us extra plates to let us share our dishes. The only con I have is that I asked for potatoes in my curry, but I didn't know it'd be a dollar extra. It's not a big deal, but I'd love to know when I ask. The ambiance was very Thai themed, and they had a lot of awards for their restaurant. It also caught my eye that they won a food bracket tournament with other restaurants I have heard of as well. There's also a large parking lot and lots of seats if you want to dine in. I also noticed a large amount of takeout orders, so you can tell this place is very popular.

When I asked for a more authentic recipe I wasn't expecting them to just add more sauce. Just completely lazy imo. If you're looking for a bleached version of Thai food. This place is it. While all the dishes have Thai names. It's just typical American food dressed up as "Thai" They recently raised the prices and for the slop they serve you. Not worth it.
