Dr. Kim really cares about your wellbeing and has an uncanny insight into what structurally is wrong. I highly recommend Dr. Kim for all your chiropractic needs! MY EXPERIENCE: Dr. Kim was recommended to me by name from an energy medicine practitioner I was seeing. She told me that Dr. Kim was the best chiropractor she'd ever known and was making tremendous progress healing injuries almost half a century old. I was skeptical but I decided to give her a try. I was even more skeptical when I realized the building was small, right off the main road, and you would miss it if you weren't looking for it. There was not much parking available, but I managed to find a spot and went inside. Inside the door was a little reception area, and on my first appointment I was a little confused by the energy. If you are sensitive, or empathic, you will know what I mean. I noticed a few crystals and an aromatherapy mister making the place smell very nice. They were very busy and perhaps a bit behind, and at first I felt a little ignored. It was only later that I learned that it was because Dr. Kim dedicates whatever amount of time is required for each patient, a true measure of caring. My first appointment they did an intake session, all kinds of measurements and reflex tests to get a baseline for my physical state. After 30 minutes they started massaging areas that I had indicated needing attention as sore or bound up, with a rapidly vibrating device. This is what they call the "Rapid Release Technique" or "Active Release Technique". After about 45 minutes of a thorough exam, I finally got to see Dr. Kim. I didn't know what to expect on first meeting her, but let me tell you, I was blown away by her uncanny intuition when she began to examine me! She's a Texas spitfire, medically trained but also skilled in many alternative and complementary therapies including energy work. Within 30 seconds of beginning to examine me, she found energetic (grounding) and physical reasons for my conditions. As the website says, they do whole body chiro, not just neck and back! She did my neck adjustment in a more thorough way than I've ever had done. Then she finished doing my back, my ribs, my shoulders, and collarbone too. Dr. Kim gave me a complimentary copy of her new book and advised me to do the "zen stretch" described within. The session ended with me getting on a roller bed that used jets of hot water --- it was amazing!! AM I HEALED? After the first visit, my shoulder became straighter, didn't click as much, and felt less chronic soreness in the joint, my neck hurt a little less (I am a writer and web developer, so I spend a lot of hours sitting in front of a computer and using a mouse), and my lower back, hips, and feet were feeling better, as well. After 2 months of sessions every week, I am feeling better than I have overall in 4 years! The carpal-tunnel-like symptoms that were starting to develop have all but gone away, I can type faster now, and I sleep better at night. There is still a little ways to go, but for the most part, I'd say yes, I am healed! I've got a reconstructed knee that has a hard time staying properly assembled (with 2 wonky previously torn ligaments running through it). I've got old injuries from prior lightsaber duels, phaser pistol burns, encounters with lava, etc. What can I say? I'm complicated beyond the intricacies of getting this outfit on. Most masseuses screw me up on some level. Hell, one had me limping for over 4 months after 40 minutes with them. And then the Lady Vader found Tahlia for me. And the clouds parted, the sun basked its warm glow upon me, the birds started chirping, my pet Bantha finally housebroke himself....and yes, I had finally found a top-notch masseuse. In all the rubdowns I got from her, not once did she screw up one of my many excessively beat down components. Not once did I go in there barely able to stand from a crouched position and leave without feeling infinitely better. And not one time did she attempt to plunge a lightsaber into my back and claim the bounty on my head, which is always a bonus. I'm typically a very harsh reviewer of masseuses, because so many of them are so damn incompetent. I can't say enough good things about her skills. She is truly a master of her craft. If I could, I would import her up here to Seattle just for my personal use as I have not been able to find a competent one up here, but alas, she likes cheese a bit too much (it's an inside thing). I actually felt bad for Thalia a few times during our session, because I don't think she was expecting such a chore. My back is so knotted up that I would event venture to say my back is one giant knot! She checked in with me repeatedly through the session to make sure I was happy with the pressure, and even laughed a few times about a particularly stubborn area. Although the experience was by no means relaxing, it was exactly what I needed, and I slept like a baby that evening. Can't wait to go back!
