I came in today for a 60 minute massage through my insurance (I wish I knew I had this perk a year ago). My therapist was Sarah and she was just amazing. She greeted me at the door that is typically locked if there are sessions going on so they come get you. Once I entered the massage room, Sarah asked me a few basic questions of why I was getting a massage, problem areas, where I keep stress and any areas to avoid. She then exited the room and had me undress to my comfort level which I decide full nude was the way I wanted to go. You must keep your mask on the entire time which I appreciate but you do need to adjust your breathing a little once laying down. The table was heated and I asked for it to be turned off as I typically run hot but it's nice there is an option for added warmth/comfort if needed. Sarah and I decided on a full body to really explore my problems areas for the future. I started on my stomach and she spent quite a bit of time on my upper and lower back as that's where I typically have the most tension. The pressure was perfect for me but she checked in to make sure I didn't need it adjusted and the rest of the time it was quiet minus the relaxing music. I appreciate this because I've experience people wanted to chat throughout the massage and no offense to anyone but I don't while I'm trying to relax. Sarah was very intuitive with problems areas as she would spend a little more time where things felt a little more tight. I was so comfortable the whole time and can't wait to return! read more

Kelly Forrester is amazing! I've been seeing her for about six months and she works wonders. She can find every knot in my back and neck, and she has seriously helped relieve the pain I have due to scoliosis (as well as long hours in front of a computer). She's also incredibly knowledgeable, and she's helping me learn ways to manage my scoliosis with various exercises and stretches. Plus she's just super sweet. I went to CBR with my boyfriend while on vacation. He had Amy, I had Katelyn. Both were exceptional! They have amazing technical skills, along with making you feel very comfortable and relaxed. It was the first time in months that I could turn my head all the way to the right. I made a lot of particular requests, and she made sure to address each of them and even gave me tips on things to do at home. I really liked the building they were in, too. I came here based on the Yelp reviews and I will not go back. Location Location Location- the office is on the edge of the railroad tracks and while I was on the massage table the train ran past honking it's horn-A LOT. Also, every ten minutes or so the building had a bell/alarm that went off (I assume it was from a Loading dock?). Massage Interesting that my masseuse had electronica rave music playing during my massage..interesting in the fact hating was not relaxing at all. After awhile it changed to hardcore rock with heavy metal drum solo. The massage started off OK but really wasn't amazing...she barely touched my trapezius muscles...what's the point? I got the $60 intro massage, and when I got there Yelp advertised checking in for another $10 off...but they would not honor that discount. So I paid $60 plus tip, instead of $50. Save yourself the hassle of going into the warehouse district for a massage. It's a super cool location, but not for a relaxing massage. read more

My CBR experience started with some consistent hip pain I was feeling after snowboarding. It got worse and worse and worse to the point where I was having a hard time walking. I decided to try a massage on a coworker's advise, and made an appointment Clara. She was fantastic, and I have been making appointments with her every month since. She is very knowledgeable about body mechanics and was able to help me feel better. The pressure of a deep tissue massage isn't very relaxing sometimes. Yet, I still feel quite relaxed in the studio. The lighting, music and scents are wonderful. The table is always warm and comfortable. Surprisingly, I haven't heard the trains go by either. (I work in an office in the same building and the trains are ridiculous.) I recommend CBR to anyone. This place is the real deal! read more

Katelyn gave the best massage I have had - period. I am very grateful to have met such a talented LMT and immediately scheduled another treatment. I have stiffness and inflexibility from recurrent injuries to my legs and back. She carefully listened to my concerns and took notes. I noticed that she was subtly evaluating my posture at the same time. I was impressed with the thoroughness of her assessment before the massage and During the massage it was evident that her attention paid off. Katelyn thoroughly addressed all of my concerns using an variety of massage techniques/modalities including stretching. I have had many other therapists tackle the same problems, Katelyn was by far the most thorough and effective. At the end of the session she offered some advice about how to improve my posture and other modalities that could help in the healing process, including the pros and cons of different yoga styles for my needs. I left feeling that she was truly interested in helping me. By the way, it is now over 4 hours after our session and I still feel amazing - which for me is remarkable. Regarding the location: I have had massages ranging from purely clinical setting to luxury spa. This location is definitely in the middle. Most men would probably feel more comfortable at this location than in a typical spa- there is no dim candle light or soft new age music playing. I did not notice any traffic or train noise but expect that it probably happens. I felt so relaxed during the massage that I probably wouldn't notice, however. Overall I felt that the space was small but inviting and comfortable and certainly not a deterrent to an outstanding experience (as others have posted.) read more

I've been in twice now to CBR and received treatments from both Katelyn and Stephanie. It had been several years since my last massage prior to going here, but both of them each time made me feel very comfortable and cared for. They do their best to assess your individual needs on each visit. The location isn't large, but it's very relaxing and well worth the money spent. My wife has some back issues and she had a treatment there also and also had a wonderful experience. I plan on going back regularly. Massage places must love it when it comes time for reviews... who doesn't walk out all google eyed and high going, "thank you, thank you". So pardon me if this is obvious, but my massage with Katelyn was awesome. I have had quite a few massages now, and every time you want to say things like "that was the best massage I've ever had", but this one really was. I had just come off of 3 weeks of harcdore days working towards a deadline, so my girlfriend, being awesome as she is, decided it would be a nice treat to get me a gift certificate for CBR. Although I don't usually leave detailed information on my check in sheets, this time I did, and I'm so glad, Katelyn seemed to have just the remedy for my computer maladies. The space is nice, not so over the top that you are uncomfortable, just right, warm, clean cozy decor. I strongly recommend CBR. Stephanie gave an excellent massage. I had just moved to Portland from NYC and was still quite stiff from the flight and sleeping on the floor while waiting for my new mattress to be delivered and Stephanie alleviated much of my stiffness. I really liked how she sat down with me before the massage and asked me questions to help her understand what I wished to get out of the massage. She also explained the techniques she would use, pressure, etc. I chose Stephanie based on her bio on the CBR website. I have very tight muscles and I thought that her training in Yoga therapy would help relieve pressure on these muscles. I was right; she incorporated moderate stretching into the massage, which was great. MommyWarbucks was right about the location, however, I disagree with her about it being distracting. Classic Body Restoration is located in a large building in the Industrial District, which is close to the freeway, but I wasn't bothered by the noise at all. Having slept with earplugs for years due to noisy roommates and dogs I can attest to being sensitive to noise but I really didn't even notice it after the massage started. Overall, a great experience. I will certainly go back. read more

I love my appointments at CBR!! I've been going for over a year now and it's become part of my wellness therapy. Having suffered from multiple fractures my body needs a lot of realignment and this massage therapy has greatly benefited me. I've seen several different therapist and I have had a wonderful experience at every appointment. Lately I was able to schedule several appointments with Kelly and she has been able to find adhesions in areas where I didn't know they existed. I've been to a number of massage therapists -- these ladies are the best I've yet found. Both Katelyn and Stephanie are skilled at massage-as-healing-therapy - able to find and fix what ails you, and explain why you're feeling tension/pain where you are. (As a science-type, this is very satisfying.) Both very communicative during your session, checking-in re: how you're doing, how this feels, etc. I have sent stressed-out coworkers and treat-deserving friends to Katelyn (half-hour gift certificates = perfect gift!), as well as folks who are new to massage. I have been going to Classic Body Restoration (great location, clean, friendly) for about 2 years now and couldn't be more satisfied with Deirdre and her magical hands that seem to extract all pain from my muscles and leave me feeling blissful and relaxed. Whether I am going in for a specific problem in my neck or back or for a regularly scheduled massage to de-stress after a long work week, Deirdre is intuitive to the needs of my body. She seems to be able to find hidden layers of balled up stress and tight knots, her hands "taking no prisoners". CBR has been integral in my recovery after a very serious car accident where I was T-Boned. When I found CBR on yelp, I was able to book an appointment a few days later (their hours are SO convenient.) After several regular massages, my body feels better every day. I have seen almost all of the massage therapists and have never had a bad massage. However, the three therapists I really resonate with are Anne, Clara and Trish. Anne has a very light but incredibly powerful (if that makes sense) touch that really accelerated healing the parts of my body that were the most injured. She has a clear understanding of each part of the skeletal/muscular system and how to manipulate the muscles for the body to be in optimum performance. Clara is really talented at using several different techniques to best suit what's going on with my body when I see her. She does certain stretches and myofascial release that makes me feel like a million dollars when I leave a massage with her. Trish is a Zen Shiatsu practitioner, and I quickly fell in love with this form of massage after the first time I saw her. For being so petite, this girl is STRONG in the best way possible! Shiatsu uses the same energy meridians that acupuncture utilizes, and I love the work that she does on my body. I am often sleepy after her massages, but honestly it's because my body has been moved and worked in wondrous ways that make it seek out rest in order to heal correctly. Amy Homsi is the most skilled, attentive, and amazing massage therapist I have ever been to see. She works on all the spots you need and stays away from the spots you don't want touched, maximizing time and making you feel FABULOUS. She is ridiculously friendly and sweet, but not so friendly that you aren't able to relax on the table. Superb massage Anne is so highly skilled. Her excellent understanding of how body parts work is just one aspect, albeit an important one. Several years ago, I had a severe frozen shoulder. Physical therapy, medication, chiropractic, and acupuncture did little to alleviate it. Regular sessions with Anne made a huge difference. It's maddening that most health insurance no longer includes massage, as it was the only thing that worked effectively for me. A recent treatment from Anne for minor muscle issues and stress has reinforced my belief that she is one of the best massage therapists in the Greater Portland area. I can truly say that it was the best massage I have ever received (even from her, previously)! I have been to several other massage therapists (having moved out of the city a few years ago), but none compare to Anne.
