Prior to coming to the shop, Khiem gave me a lot of valuable input on what could be the issue with my car. I can't say enough good things about my experience dealing with Khiem and KT Motoring. I've known Khiem (the owner) dating back to the early EVO scene when purchased and modded my first EVO VIII. Back then, he was always honest, dedicated and someone you could trust with your car. Nothing has changed. I started looking for an EVO IX about a year ago and was trying to find a near perfect example to keep forever. I contacted Khiem and got good advice in what to look for. He even did an inspection on a local car I was considering. Cut to several months later where I found "the car". I consulted him on the maintenance items I wanted done to bring the car up to spec (timing belts, water pump, fluids, plugs) as well as a mod path to quiet it down some and make it low key. He provided helpful, accurate info on making my decisions and never once felt he was trying to upsell me. On the contrary...he tried to prevent me from spending money that didn't achieve my goals. We agreed on a path and I shipped my car to him. He was communicative through the whole process and gave me options when we hit snags. Cut to last Friday when I flew down to pickup the car. I was picked up at the airport, taken to the shop after hours and walked through all the work that was done; all original parts kept as requested. The results of the mods and tune were fantastic. Great power and smooth power band. The car was everything I'd hoped for when he was done. I received the bill and it was very reasonable given the amount of work undertaken. Nothing came as a surprise or was out of scope from the original estimate. Over the years, I've dealt with a lot of tuner shops. Most never last; a few are good for a year or two then get greedy and fall off a cliff. Most others just don't get it. KT is the real deal. I took my Evo X here for a dual map tune, and I got that plus more. By more I mean a really really well running car. I got tuned at 80k and I'm at about 115k now, and my car still runs extremely good. One minor workmanship issue was that they re-used a stock coupler on my aftermarket intake and it came off eventually while I was at the track. Could be my fault for not giving him a new coupler though so no big deal really. My car is still holding up nicely. No blown motors, repairs, or anything. Khiem and Phil are both good guys. They have NOT left me stranded or anything even after I paid them. Honest quality shop here. I drove all the way from San Diego to have my car tuned by them and I have no regrets. The little engine that could was what my mom was screaming when I downshifted to 2nd and did 50 to 180 in a few seconds. The tuner there knows what he's doing and has been trained by the most reputable engineers at Mitsubishi. Rumor has it that the owner actually gets down and dirty on customers cars. I took my 2010 Subaru WRX in to have a front mount intercooler and an upgraded turbo installed when I picked up my car I noticed that my front bumper was not cut properly and their explanation for that was that they're not a body shop. They did not properly install the up pipe and down pipe and caused an exhaust leak. They forgot to plug a vacuum on the turbo inlet so my car was sucking in dirty air. My car also had an exhaust leak. They tuned it with all of those problems. I took it back in to have it fixed twice and they did not fix any of the problems. I will never take my car there again and I have spread the word to my friends about the bad experience I had. read more

My car is still running good and the struts feel great. However, I am getting some clunk noise when I park and drive slow through parking lots. I think it's some spring bind in the front right strut. Khiem at KT Motoring said to bring it in and he'll check it no charge. Brought the car in today, Khiem was able to resolve spring bind issue and now I'm a happy camper. Got to give these guys some love. I have a 2003 black evo 8 and they've done a few work for me. I got some major service done around 90k including the replacement of the timing belt. Also got my car tuned here by Dr. Phil on 91 and on e85. Most recently I had these guys install an ACT clutch; and everything is running smoothly. But not only is their work quality, but the team here is real cool. Everyone is down to earth. They don't come at you with a condescending attitude or anything, but they treat their customers with respect. Have been bringing my X here for some maintenance and parts install... but about a month ago... around Aug 2017... decided to go flexfuel route with my X and couple of weeks after that a clutch install... Owner Kheim and the rest of the guys were great... things were done right and in a timely manner... i love my car... i will not take it to just anyone, so after many searches, i found Khiem and was not disappointed i have a stroked wrx with a big turbo and blue injectors, but it developed an intermittent issue with it dropping into "limp mode..." however... it would come back to life when i reset the ecu... kheim found the issue (a bad maf sensor) and with that and a big service (water pump, timing belt, etc), my car feels like new... tight... fast... badass... no more limping around (did i say i love my car, cause i love my car... all over again) lots of evos all over, but he made my subie all better and delivered great value!! thanks, kt motoring... you rock read more
