I never like to talk poorly about anyone or any place, but KT is NOT an example of fresh Asian food. It's sad. I ordered the Wor Wonton. The Wonton simply had a chunk of older tasting pork in it. -- that's all. No effort. No ginger, green onions, or anything else in there. The char siu was dry and lacked flavor. There didn't seem to have any intention to prepare a good quality soup either. My daughter, ordered the pho. The vegetables were fresh, but the meat came fully cooked and the fish sauce was watered down without any attempt to mix it the right way. We also ordered the shrimp rolls and while they looked good, they smelled like they were moistened with an old table rag. The peanut sauce was made with a sticky corn starch slurry. It was all terrible. The lack of effort to improve was very apparent and included the sticky hoisin refilled squeeze bottles, sticky tables, and broken blinds around us While ymmv, i won't be returning in this lifetime. read more

I ordered takeout for my family of 4 and all of us had a few pieces of hair on the food that was served to us. This was September 2022. I don't want multiple hairs in my food and the food I am feeding my children. It makes me wonder how clean the cooks are...are they washing their hands? Is the kitchen dirty? Binky and I were back in the Sacramento area this weekend for a wedding of two beloved friends. Out of all the wonderful places we ate over the weekend (and we ate a LOT), this was one of our FAVORITES. Hipster Roomie, Binky, and I came into the restaurant at approximately 8:40PM (they close at 9:00PM). We were worried that KT might send us away because of how close we were to closing time but they didn't (there were a surprising amount of people entering the restaurant at the same time we were...). The restaurant is definitely cheesy with red vinyl seats and tons of random, bright decor (not that it mattered much to us...). The highlight of the restaurant is definitely the amount/quality/taste of the FOOD in comparison to the price! I think the bill for all three of us was a little over $23! Binky ordered a pho -- broth was a little salty (probs because we went so late) but KT put a generous amount of meat (medium rare -- they didn't even ask us haha...), noodles, etc. I ordered a vermicelli dish with lemon chicken and egg roll. HOLY MOLY, the chicken was delicious -- not as "lemon-y" as I expected but so tender/sweet (big portion as well....). Hipster Roomie ordered fried rice and thai tea (didn't try the rice, but the tea was strong/sweet...). Service wasn't the friendliest but I 100% understand that this was mostly OUR fault for arriving so late. KT did rush us (quite a bit) but we were still able to stay in the restaurant until 9:15PM or so (long enough to finish our food...). I drove past this place for years. I've now been several times. On the outside, there really isn't anything drawing you in. When you walk in the door, you'll think you just stepped back in time at least several decades. But once your food arrives at your table, you know exactly why this place has such good reviews. I love this cute little hole in the wall place. Me and my girlfriend ride our bikes here all the time. She loves their chi tea and we always gt a different appitizer. I think my fav thing is the crunchy noodle. This place is so nice and everythinng is so good. Workers are very sweet and the atmosphere is actually weirdly cute. This food is as wonderful take-out as it was pre-Covid indoors! We got the #55 bbq pork + shrimp over vermicelli - love love this dinner! The box comes packed with veggies incl shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, shredded carrot, cilantro & crushed peanuts - plus both tamarind & chili sauces. Has noodles, 3 shrimp & a huge portion of marinated bbq pork. Wonton appetizer is yumm too. Takeout was ready in about 15 minutes. KT is quicker to drive to than you think since it's on a major street - only takes us 17 minutes from far west Roseville. At $11 per entree this place is a yummy bargain! read more

Not sure if it was a bad day, new chef or new owners and the menu has changed. The pho here is about average, imo. The brooth really lacks something. Plus, the portions of a large seem small. It works for a quick fix though. Maybe I was really hungry, but I got to the bottom of bowl way too quick for my liking. People seem to like the rice plates and other noodle dishes more, so I'll have to come back and try those. read more

Probably the best Vietnamese joint in the Sacramento area, if not in the Sacramento area, then definitely the best joint in North of Sacramento. Service was good but the food was horrible. Pho was very bland. The broth was definitely lacking as far as depth. Bf's rice plate was cold. I think the reason I was so disappointed was because I came here thinking I was going to get Vietnamese food. But, after dining here, I've learned that this place actually caters to the American "let's go out for Vietnamese food and order orange chicken" type. How does one tell? If possible I would give them zero stars and report them to the local restaurant inspector. We went there this last Saturday. The reviews looked outstanding so we were pretty excited. My girlfriend is a vegan so we had very specific requests. First off the waitress asked if we wanted chicken broth in our vegetarian Pho. I would think that would be obvious but we reiterated that we wanted no animal products in the soup. Comparatively, this was a non issue . The real problem came in the vegetarian egg rolls. Now I have no idea if they are made on site or ordered from some place else, so I'm trying to scale back how disgusted I am at what happened. My girlfriend made it half way into the egg roll and bit into something hard. She immediately spit it out. She freaked out asking what it was so I looked at it. My best assessment would be that it was a part of an animal that has no business being in a kitchen (you would never see this animal on the menu). At the very least I question the quality of food and the cleanliness of their kitchen. From there I have only speculation and a churning in my stomach whenever I think about what I may have ingested. I'm not a vegan and I've eaten in some absolutely repugnant dives in the past. But this ranks even beyond my worst experiences (those include a cockroach in my jack and coke, glass in the ice of my drink, and a fried chicken sandwich that consisted of about 60% fatty tumor just to put this in perspective for you) MY RECOMMENDATION IS THAT YOU AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

I absolutely loved what I ordered Started with lemon grass chicken spring rolls (wrapped in rice paper) it came with a delicious peanut sauce for dipping. A local favorite for my husband and I. Where else can you get meal at a sit down restaurant for two people for less than $20? We walked up to KT Noodle the other night and I had my usual of #10 Beef Pho, and my husband had the Pho Special with meatball, beef and pork. My second favorite is usually the chicken, seafood, and veggie combo Pho, but I was craving the beef broth as it was so cold outside. They give you a ton of noodles here, and the broth is very flavorful. The decor is really run down, but the place is clean and the people are friendly. Talk about DISAPPOINTED!!! I moved out of the Central Valley of CA two years ago to Nevada. I've been a PHO fanatic for years and although we do have a couple of pho places they don't quite meet up to the typical quality of CA. So we were heading to San Francisco and of course what are we stopping to eat since we are back in CA...PHO. With a 4 start rating we jumped on KT. I think this was the worst PHO i have ever had. The broth had no flavor at all. The flank meat couldn't even be chewed. Even the basil was wilted. We also ordered the fried egg rolls and they were also terrible. The service matched to quality of the food. We ordered hot tea and had to ask again during the meal to get tea. If you are jonesing for some good pho don't go here. read more

I have driven by this tired little strip mall on Sunset for a year and a half now. I never really gave a second thought to the Vietnamese food sign and the wrinkled looking mini blinds covering the windows. I decided to stop there with Robert last night for a quick dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the place is about as uninviting as it can be. The interior was unexpectedly crowded for a Thursday night - A good sign. Decor was typical of the cultural venue. Lots of plastic flowers and mismatched accessories - but even though it was busy it was clean. The waitress was all business and seemed in a hurry - but in my experience this is true in most Vietnamese establishments. The food was awesome! We had pork rolls and egg roll apetizers with a peanut sauce and vowed that the next time in that would be all we would order. Then the main course came Sweet and Sour Shrimp with Noodles and Lemon Grass Chicken Salad. mmmmmmm. Even my fortune was good - "Someone new in my life will become very important to me." Love it! Same family has run it for years. It's been fun watching the kids grow up over the years. All the food I have every eaten there has been fresh. Hot food is always hot, and cold food is always cold. I've had several of the soups, several of the noodle bowls, and all the appetizers. Everything is top-rate! One thing happened there that I'll never forget. One time, I accidentally left 2 20's for a $15 bill. They were brand new and stuck together. I noticed about a half-hour later. I returned to the restaurant, and they had the second $20 ready for me to pick up!!! They knew it had to be a mistake, and did not try and take advantage of me. Since then, I always tip extra, so they've made up that $20 a few times over. read more

KT Noodle is a very solid Vietnamese restaurant. It's located in a small strip mall. The restaurant is very cozy an the staff is very friendly and attentive. I often times order take away and its always perfect. Everything I have ordered, from the pho, spring rolls, rice plates, and chicken salad is perfectly prepared. The best things about it are the price and the quantity of food! Most entrees are priced between $5-$6 for a hefty amount of food. Not to worry their hot food is served hot and the cold food is served cold. If you are looking for some comfort Vietnamese food, look no further...KT Noodle is your place! I was really excited after I saw the yelp reviews for KT, but unfortunately I wasn't nuts about this place. I guess it's decent for the area. The Roseville/Rocklin area is definitely screwed in the good-asian-food-restaurant area. (in my opinion) The pork spring rolls were just okay. Standard. I got some rice noodle soup- I thought it would be like TK Noodle in South Sac (if you don't know about that place, THEN GO! NOW!) but it wasn't like it at all. My bowl was stuffed full of stuff. It had veggies and shrimp and chicken literally falling over the sides of the bowl. I do appreciate them not being stingy with ingredients, but it was too much. I wanted to put hoisin sauce and sriracha and jalapenos and bean sprouts and all the yummy other oils and spices in it, but I couldn't. I couldn't even mix all of my stuff together. Eventually I started taking a bunch of veggies out just to get to the broth. But once I got there, it was pretty good. If you think this place is good, I highly suggest venturing into Sacramento for even better food. Hoa Viet on Madison or basically almost any noodle place in South Sac will suffice. But KT is good for the area. Oh and service was as you'd expect... well what I'd expect. Take it with a grain of salt. read more

Vietnamese consumer, born and raised. After buying things here for a few times, I do NOT recommend: - Pho: sorry, if you want good pho, please go somewhere else. So bland here... However, what I do like from here are the "mom-made" dishes that remind me of home below. Since I don't have lots of time to cook, I just buy them and ration them for the week since they come in a pretty big quantity! - Canh Chua Ca (Sour fish soup with mixed vegetables): kind of sweeter than the usual ones I've had but good nonetheless. - Ca Kho To (Fish hot pot): WARNING - not a real "hot pot", just fish cooked in a clay pot in caramelized sauce. Will try more things later but I'm happy I found a place to buy Vietnamese hot food for the week here :) read more

Whenever I come back to my hometown for a visit, this is on my list of things I need to do. It is THAT good. It isn't much to look at - the outside is nondescript and grungy, the inside's decor matches that of my great-grandma's apartment - but what it lacks in style, it more than makes up for in substance. I always get their plate of egg rolls (the #4, if I remember correctly) and charbroiled pork with rice noodles (the #53). It is a monstrous bounty of food, and it's yours for only $12 or so. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water from hundreds of miles away - the tender succulent meat, the lightly crisped egg rolls with a delicious filling of indeterminate origin, the fresh crunchy vegetables. It's enough to make a grown man cry. In fact, I want to cry right now, because it's so very far away from me. Life just isn't fair like that. I love you KT Noodles. Honestly, I wouldn't rate this place a four star restaurant, however the food helps me give it a star bump. The food is amazing. You get enough food to feed two people for less than 10$. Where else can you feed two people for 10$ and still have left overs? ... I can't think of any where else. Not only are the portion sizes huge but the meals are tasty! I highly recommend the char broiled pork spring rolls (#2) and the lemongrass chicken with noodles (#50). All of the noodle soups are really good too, especially when the weather is chilly out. The ambience is seriously lacking and needs a major redo. I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed since it's opening decades ago. I will say that it's nice that they have ample booths so we never have to sit at a table, but the power cords running along the wall and the fake flowers don't do much for me... The service is also lacking. It's a family run restaurant and depending on which family members are working can make or break your service. Also, sometimes special requests are lost in translation, but always quickly remedied. I will say the food always arrives incredibly fast, but we often wait for the bill for a long long long time. I am stunned by the number of 4 stars reviews lauding this establishment as Rocklin's landmark Vietnamese restaurant. It's dirty, the service is marginal, the cuisine is meh, and their food handling practices are sketchy. KT noodles, located on one of Sunset Blvd's dingier stripmalls, appeared to be a diner of some sort in its former life, with red and white striped half-booths and what was once a matching red carpet. This carpet apparently has not been cleaned since the changeover, as judged by the numerous stains and generally dulled appearance. But not to fret, as the old time stains were joined by bits of noodle and beans sprouts littered about by this evening's service. One of the reasons we all like to order Vietnamese pho is the quickness of service. The broth is usually already prepared, and the noodles only take a couple of minutes to cook. Seven minutes is usually average from order to service time. Twenty-two minutes here. Why? Is it because the cuisine is super delicious and well-worth the wait? Dream on... A tepid chicken-based broth lacking any discernible Asian seasonings (like Star Anise) with already cooked slices of beef served in an undersized bowl filled with the noodles so that there was no room to add the bean sprouts, jalapenos and basil served on the side. The pork fried rice was a bit better with ample servings of meat. But the pho was not very good. Want more? On the way back to the restroom, I walked by a booth that the mama-san was using as a workstation, assembling spring rolls. Each completed roll she was placing directly on the surface of the dining table, not on a clean plate or platter. No, the surface of the table, touched by numerous people and bits of food, maybe wiped down with a well-used rag, hopefully with some kind of cleaning solution, maybe. Based on the very consistent reviews here already, I came in with high expectations. As much as I hate to say it, I was somewhat let down. The good: HUGE portion sizes. Huge. Unlike the other area Vietnamese joints that offer small-medium-large, KT only serves once size of pho: HUGE. Starting at well under 6 bucks too. I'm talking endless noodles here. Between my family of 2 adults and 2 young kids, we could not come close to finishing it. Oh, and the meat. I first had to dig through the generous heap of meat to find the noodles. People are right: they don't skimp here. On anything. The bun (vermicelli) was equally generous, and topped with wonderful slabs of pork and egg roll. The bad: I realize that this is where things turn subjective, but I just did not care for the pho broth. The taste was just uninspiring to me. And then, there was not enough of it for the serving size of the noodles -- we even had to request extra broth to take home with our leftover noodles. Admittedly, I'm not exactly a pho expert (my wife is), but we both agreed that we liked Wayside and Pho Saigon better. So, a mixed review from me. If you have an insatiable appetite for pho, this is the place to go -- as long as you like their broth. Unfortunately, I didn't like it enough to want to make KT one of my regulars. read more
